I consider this game as a mixed bag. There are some nostalgic values to it; as well as some really frustrating aspects. If this wasn't the Ninja Turtles, then I oould imagine this game getting panned by so many people. In fact, this game wasn't the first game to adapt the full TMNT title in Japan. It was something like "Mutant Hero Turtle Legend". Thus, TMNT II: The Arcade Game was actually the first TMNT game in Japan to adapt the TMNT name.

Satisfying reviews as always, Kwing. So, when is Episode 2 of Turtles Month going to release?

Thanks yeah, this Review actually gave me a lot of creditability and I still stand by it. The game is only bad, if you don't master it and play it the way the developers made it so.

I love this game,It's a fun hard challenge, a lot of people hate it because of the AVGN review which was his personal feelings & everybody jumped on the bandwagon.

Nope I don't jump on band wagons. With me you know your going to get an honest fair and fun review ever time. Very few people dis agree with my show. Friend thats like the old saying don't hate the game hate the player. But who can hate AVGN? He is awesome. Still because of his video a lot people was turned off to this game and thats a major shame. Thanks for the comment and hope I did one your favorite games justice.

Great Review as always.

I am not quite sure why so many people disliked this game. I personally loved it when it came out, and still like it to this day. I loved how Konami tried to add some adventure type elements in it. I personally have no issue with the difficulty. People that played NES games in those days were used to games being hard. Hell many of the best NES games of all time are also among the hardest.

Yeah, old school games can still kick your butt. Where as most games today are push overs. Still this game was really easy considering a lot of Nes and GB would take gamers to school.

Wait, did the game ever actually say level 2 was supposed to be Hoover Dam?  It would be rather difficult to flood New York City by blowing up a dam on the border of Nevada and Arizona.  Also I'm pretty sure the "sonic boom gun" is supposed to be some kind of mystic scroll.

Overall it's good to hear an honest review from someone who actually likes the game.  I loved this game as a kid, but could never get past level three.  Just now started playing it again on the VC and I'm finally getting further.  Might actually defeat the thing after all this time.

Yeah, that wouldn't make any sense if the Hoover Dam was in New York City. Someone must have not of thought clearly. I don't know, but it could be fictional dam in the Hudson River because that's in New York.

I'm glad you are still liking it. I personally consider the game as a hit and miss, but there are some nostalgic values to the game and to the hardcore Turtles fans, like me. I'm still waiting for the ESRB to release TMNT II: The Arcade Game on the VC, and they are taking their sweet and precious time getting it out. I hope that the release will show that we want all the TMNT games from yesteryear back on the VC, and the bandwagon of downloads for those games will skyrocket! I mean, look at all the LucasArts games that came out on the VC.
