In the year 20XX, Dr. Thomas Light, a Nobel Prize winning professor in the field of Robotics, creates a series of 6 revolutionary robots entitled the "Robot Master Series DRN" in an effort to use robotics as a mean to better mankind. As a personal project, Dr. Light creates 2 androids named Roll (a female) and Rock (a male) who are made to be as human as possible from appearance to behavior. Rock and Roll are, however, also created due to Light's goal to have the children he was never able to have. Meanwhile, after the creation of the series gains Light his Nobel Prize in Physics and notoriety, his partner and colleague, Dr. Albert Wily, grows enraged and jealous of Light's success. Secretly, a man who wants control and power. Dr. Wily decides to reprogram and steal the robot master series to do his bidding so he can wreak havoc and gain control of the city. As Wily begins to steal more of Light's creations, it becomes clear to him he has the resources to systemically gain more and more control in an effort to reach his ultimate goal: total world domination. With a strong sense of duty and regard for humanity, Rock volunteers to receive a battle upgrade in an effort to battle Wily's forces, thus donning the name "Megaman". The battle for humanity is now between Megaman and all the bots at Wily's disposal.

It is better than what Hollywood gave us (or will give us), but on its own sadly is not too impressive.
The CGI is impressive for an independent film of this calibur, but I don't like the acting. Wily was good, Light was alright, but Roll was obnoxious, and Mega Man was boring.
I hate to bash you Eddie Lebron, but I am slightly disappointed. Also before everyone tears me a new *******, remember this:
It's MY opinion. I can't tell you your opinion. Watch the movie for yourself and find out if you like it. While I complained, support this type of stuff. Wouldn't it be cool to see more talented people make movies?
Can't wait for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time movie!

Overall my final take on this movie is that it's not a masterpiece but it's a good movie. I think the main problem is that they focused too much on developing Mega Man's character at the beginning. Going back to The Dark Knight, Batman was developed throughout the movie so it was a bit of a drawback.

I agree with you Flashpenny, Rock didn't become Mega Man until almost the halfway point. I know Mega Man doesn't really have a story, and the fact Mr. Lebron was able to make a believeable one is great, but it took a little too long.
For some reason, I didn't like the references to other people's works. The Metal Gear Awesome picture on Dr. Light's computer was distracting. The beginning of the movie was very interesting, but as simple as that picture broke all immersion.
Also the NES boss select screen was a bit cheesy, but made me laugh.

Lebron did a good job at portraying the characters, I didn't think Megaman was boring as you say, after all he was just activated and still trying to come into grips with himself...that's like saying that a baby is boring after him/her have just been born. And of course Roll is obnoxious... Have you ever have siblings before? I thought Dr. Light's character in this film was portrayed really good. But I agree, Dr. Wiley did steal the show because he was awesome.I did however would've loved to see the other killer robots that Wiley stole from the warehouse, not just the robot masters, but I do understand the fact that Mr. Lebron is probably paying for this movie out of his own pockets.
I do apologize if I sound like a douche but, I like how you say that you support independent/fan-made films like this then states that you can't wait for the sands of time...I find that awfully ironic :p

I agree. Dr. Wily was like the Joker in the Dark Knight in that he stole the show. The difference is that the Joker was exceptionally well-acted but Dr. Wily stole the show because he was the only legitimately good character in the movie. The rest were ok but not that great.

I agree Wiley was the best in my opinion. I really enjoyed his acting, but the other actors weren't bad the entire time. Dr. Light had his moments where I heard him and felt like he was actually Dr. Light, but then he would strike an odd pose or leave a line hanging and ruin the moment.
I really didn't mind the plot and developing Rock's character before making him Mega Man. I do wish the fights with the Robot Masters were longer, but it is a fan made movie that's not for profit.
I gotta say that while I'm not in love with the movie it is unreasonable for anyone to say they are disappointed in the movie. It's a fan made movie that is not for profit and to expect anymore than this is not the movie makers fault. In all honesty I was really pleasantly surprised by this movie. Maybe it is all the terrible video game movies out there, but I was very worried this would be as bad as most of he rest. And for a not for profit movie to be even comparable to Hollywood movies says a lot about both Hollywood's efforts at video game movies and this movie.
I do want to say that I would really like to see this movie with better graphics and some better actors, so I have no problem with someone being psyched for Prince of Persia. I'm concerned about it not being similar to the games much, but I really just hope it is entertaining.

For starters Mega Man is NOTHING like any of the video game movies of old. However, I watch movies to be entertained. Super Mario Bros., Street Fighter yeah they're bad, but they are funny and I come out feeling great.
This movie was boring to me. I had to take a 30 minute intermission to do something else.
I will restate my ending line to my first comment:
"It's MY opinion. I can't tell you your opinion. Watch the movie for yourself and find out if you like it. While I complained, support this type of stuff. Wouldn't it be cool to see more talented people make movies?"
Also, if Eddie Lebron is reading the comments, I want him to know my first comment was directed towards him. I am trying to give him constructive criticism. I didn't say: "This movie is gay" or "This movie sucks" I appreciated the effort, gave him a pat on the back, and told him how I thought he could do better.
I'm also not like ShtinkeR down there. I have reasons.

Anyway, I don't want to come across as trying to make you look bad. Your criticisms are valid and I agree that we should support these kind of efforts. I just want to voice my opinion that considering they probably had a small budget this turned out to be a pretty good movie and I in contrast to your opinion was pleasantly surprised, but I agree that it could have been better.

I didn't mean that this movie is the greatest video game movie ever or that you should love this movie, but to expect better than this from a not for profit fan made movie seems a little harsh. I feel like some people got their expectations built up too high for it. But like you said it's your opinion and you are not being a dick like ShtinkeR, but i can't tell if he is serious or failing at satirizing.

Sorry, but if I don't like a movie, I don't like it. There's a lot of hated movies with low/almost no budget that people hate. How did that Zelda movie do?
Either way, yes, I agree, you can't really hate on the special effects, I can agree. But, if a producer knows that his special effects are gonna be crap, why have them as a goal?
As they did on the NES era, you can always work around a few things.
I liked the movies, but I took several pauses from some of the boring parts.

Mr. E.L. must of had a helluva time trying to organize this and get it all together. Considering the level of editing and TIME this must of taken, the graphics are so very clean. Something I would like to personally add, as some helpful sound bite hints, is to use a simple but effective trick: Try getting a boom mike or some other good sound recording device, then get some every day things like cans, boards, rocks, shoes, and other such things. You can use those to record tons of sound effects and then move them from your recording device to your editing program to get some more sound effects. For example, Guts Man's huge, clunky feet can be a metal trash can top smashing against the ground. Tweak the sound levels to give it a heavy and strong feel and there ya go! I say this, cuz I noticed you were trying so hard to add things in and you were missing sound effects on some parts. Like the Yellow Devil when he was hitting Mega. Just smash a bat against a metal trash can to get a great metal on metal hit sound. I hope this helps ^_^
A bit off track there, but I really enjoyed this and can't WAIT to see what more you have in store for us. As with most people here, I LOVED Wily and he did steal the show. Kudos to everyone too for doing their very best to ACT IN FRONT OF A CAMERA THAT WAS GOING TO BE SHOWN TO MILLIONS OF PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD!!! That is sooooo very nerve wrecking and I appreciate the extreme effort ALL THE ACTORS put into their performance!
Excellent job Mr E.L. and very big list of Crew Members working with him in bringing this to life! I understand the hard work everyone put into this and the fruits of your labors are amazing!! Keep on working on more great things and I look forward to a part 2!!!!

I've loved Megaman since I was young. The first gameboy game I bought was the b&w Megaman 1 and I've watched about half of the film, though it was a decent low-budget film, I'm slightly disappointed by it.
I believe the writing could've been a lot better. I think there's a lot of unnecessary dialogue in parts of the film where excitement and urgency should be forming. The actor who played Dr. Wiley is probably the best of the show though his accent is kind of poor lol. Dr Light was decent too.
The effort brought to this production can be seen and I'm glad that this was produced. I've studied film and I know that it's not an easy thing to get right, so I applaud happily

But the thing about this fan film that really gives its charm, that many Hollywood movies failed to do is to stay faithful towards the original storyline, or at least not stray TOO far from it. At the moment, this may be really the only movie of it's kind (well with the exception of maybe the upcoming prince of persia.), therefore it receives the praise of many people here today, but it deserves that praise, it's a good first step.
Clumsy first step, but a first step nonetheless.

He was stating his own opinion completely with logic, all constructive criticism. He wasn't being fanboyish or a jerk.
BTW, the Prince of Persia might be good. The trailers actually look okay, even if the track record is kinda sloppy.
Besides, he looks enough the part to me in the trailer. Yeah, kinda racist, but it's not the first time Hollywood pulled this. Hell, System Shock was still a good movie despite that.
Well, so bad it's good.

2. Prince of Persia white? Why is that a big deal? He looks the part. What about the 2008 game? Does that one not exist? I think the character in the trailer is more like that Prince.
3. "Book like comment"? Does that mean it's long?

No I do not have unbelievably high expectations. In fact I am easily entertained. That doesn't mean I just need explosions to have fun. The movie had great effects. Why didn't they use them on the other Robot Masters? Don't even get me started on those guys!
Also "Blues"? I am asking this out of curiosity. Is that Proto Man's Japanese name, like Rock Man?
The Prince of Persia movie looks good. I don't expect it to be great, but still entertaining. That's a word this movie severely lacks. And yes, I will enjoy the Hollywood version thank you. Until you can do something better, SHUT UP!

THEY COULDNT HAVE CHOOZEN A BETTER ACTRESS FOR THE ROLL. SHE WAS THE ONE THAT KEPT ME GLUED TO THE MOVIE AND MAY I ADD MEGAMAN FITTED PERFECTLY TOO. HIS LOOKS AND ACTION MADE THE MOVIE BELIEVEABLE. DOCTOR LIGHT AND DOCTOR WILLY WERE PRETTY GOOD TOO BUT I WOULD IMPROVE THEIR LOOK LIKE DOCTOR LIGHTS BEARD SHE BE MORE THICKER AND DOCTOR WILLIS MUSTACHE SHOUD BE WHITE OTHER THAN THAT THEYRE GREAT. THEY WERE A FEW MINOR GLITCHES WITH THE NAMES, FOR EXAMPLE THE NAME ROCK IS USED IN JAPAN ONLY AND THE BLUE SHOULD BE NAME PROTOMAN. THIS IS AN AMAZING ADAPTATION FOR CAPCOM LEGENDARY MASCOT MEGAMAN. THE CGI WAS GREAT BUT IT CAN BE IMPROVE WITH TODAY HD TECHS. IT NEEDS A FEW TOUCHES LIKE THE NAMING AND A FEW LOOK IMPROVEMENT AND THATS IT.

i think the entire problem with why you don't like this movie is because you're comparing it to hollywood movies which isn't fair.
i mean come on this guy's budget was whatever he got from his job which im sure doesn't give him enough money to make a movie like transformers.
you say that he could've done better but i honestly don't think that he could have.
what you're doing is telling a pee wee baseball player to hit with the majors. it just can't work.
2. i also want to say that i recognize that this is a complicated subject. "should independent projects be judged the same as big budget projects" after all they're all movies right? but im not sure they can because a standard is set that is literally unachievable by the independent guys.

I mean CG stuff takes forever, not just the animating process but also the rendering once the animation is done. I have friends who rendered a 2 minute demo reel that took a full week to render. Not to mention that if there's any mistake you won't know until it's finished, then it's back to rendering. Big budget movies have dozens of computers for this but they also have money.
I'm not going to say that this is the best film ever created but I will say that this is the best Video Game Fan Film I have ever seen in my life. While some of the acting is a bit cringe worthy, and I'm glad someone else thoght the Metal Gear Awesome thing was a little weird, this is a major accomplishment in video game film.

But with Megaman which might seem like a difficult franchise to at least make a decent movie Eddie did it. I actually kinda liked to see Mega man come to life. And to make this story about Megaman you can tell he did try to make Megaman something like it never was and it was actually cool. Dr. Wily was fun to watch.
For a fan film he did get it right i mean it wasnt the best movie ever but i still liked it. Although it did start out slow which dissapointed me and kind of made it boring at times but all in all we can all tell Eddie did what most of us would like to see for a first ever Megaman movie so great job. Who knows he might wanna do a sequel and i would definitly come back to watch Megaman in action again.

The acting was great, by all the actors, especially the main characters, plus Fire Man and Elec Man. Special kudos to David Young (Dr. Light)!
You were perfect!
I only have two minor criticisms. The first is that the setting should merely have been New York City, since it is so obvious that that is the location in which the movie is being filmed. Plus, being in a real-world location would have added to the realism.
The second thing is that maybe Wily's turning bad could have been postponed a little bit more. I would have liked to see him interacting with the other characters in a normal way more. After all, it has to be believable that he has been Dr. Light's colleague for a long time.
Other than that, i have no complaints. If this movie were any better, it'd win an Oscar. And if it were in theaters, i'd pay money good to see it more than once, and at least once in Imax 3D.
Some things i would have been happily surprised to see in the movie are the boss CWU-01P, having Copy Robot be able to change his appearance, and an in-Fortress battle. Also, appearances from Oil Man and Time Man and minor enemies like Sniper Joe would have been nice. But realizing the time and budget constrictions, this would merely have been icing on top of this already delicious cake.
Hollywood should be taking notes here, since Eddie Lebron has successfully produced an A movie with a comparatively tiny budget. Eat that, Prince of Persia movie, with your tanned white men playing Ancient Persians! This movie makes both X-Men 3, Transformers 2, and Spider-Man 3 look like crap in comparison, putting these losers in their place. And even the original live-action Transformers movie, which i thought was pretty good, is thoroughly outclassed by this Mega Man fan-flick. If i were a Hollywood producer, i would approach Mr. Lebron and Capcom and ask if i could produce a version for the big screen, and give Mr. Lebron as director complete freedom and creative control. Capcom has already expressed an interest.
But we all know that Hollywood's not that smart.
One can still hope though.
Speaking of which, if Eddie decides to make a sequel to this, i am totally behind that. Even though i think he's thinking about making a 'Mega Man X' film, and i am a HUGE fan of the X series, i would discourage that as it would take a LOT of special effects for it to be done right. Instead, i'd like to see a 'Mega Man 2', since there is so much story that could be explored: the creation of Rush, Proto Man becoming Break Man, the creation of Gamma, Wily designing his own Robot Masters, the creation of Bass and Treble, etc..
Also, having more than one Robot Master fight at once could allow more to be included, and having sequential fights definitely helped to cut time in this movie. I'm fairly sure that the Robot Masters of multiple games could even be included in one movie, although i would suggest that the next one, if there is going to be one, have ones from Mega Man 2 and maybe 3.
Anyway, if Lebron's planning to make a sequel, i'll happily donate my money.
