Nice to see that it works... sorta. It's a damn shame that the TV and Multimedia functionality had to be null and void, but at least you get to play imported PS1 and PS2 games. HUZZAH!

Did you try inserting a MemoryStick with music and photos into the PSX directly? Maybe that will work.

Nice update, it's cool that you got the stuff to get it to work.

That warning sign read, "Please wait a moment (while the disc loads)." Just letting you know. JPNS it is Shibaraku omachikudasi. Also, you can change the language to English on the PSX in the game settings.

You can change the operating system's language to English, however when you go to things like that T.V. channel program, it will still be in Japanese. The only thing you gain from changing the language is a little more ease at navigation, until you get to something in Japanese.

Well it can't be because your PSP is PAL cause last I heard Sony's PSP and PS3 are not region locked... maybe it is for the PSX? but the firmware could just be so updated it isn't compatible with it anymore?

And if I were you, I would format the HDD so that you can change the language to english (if there is an option to do so).
