I actually met Sivak at MAGFest and watched him demo Battle Kid.  I've been waiting for the game ever since.  He was originally saying that it would be out mid to late January on http://retrousb.com.  I've been checking back periodically and still not Battle Kid, and he hasn't been pasting updates on his YouTube channel, either.  I hope something hasn't derailed it.

Actually he did have an update, though it's a bit hidden. In his trailer videos, he added annotations saying the game was delayed to February due to printing errors. I'm hoping the game really does come out in February, I can't wait to play it.

Ooo, I see.  Thanks for informing me.  I, too, am waiting to buy it.  I even dug out my good ol' NES and cleaned it out in anticipation.  And that was kind of cool in itself because it roped me into going back and playing my actual cartridges.  Yeah, I can play the same games on WiiWare or an emulator, I know.  But there's just something about playing the actual cartridge again that's awesome.

If something has I'm sure he'll release it in some form. No use keeping the finished product to himself if it turns out he can't turn a profit off of it, eh? Though it would suck if it didn't come on an NES cartridge. It's one up on the recent Mega Man titles.

It should definitely be on a cartridge.  I watched him demo it on a front-loading NES at MAGFest and it was on one of the blank cartridges they sell at retrousb.com.  As far as I saw, it worked flawlessly.  Also, Jacoban above informed me that there is an update lodged deep in one of his videos that I've missed.  It looks like Sivak's still planning on bringing it to us.  Woo-hoo!

I actually want this game on my NEX and I also want the game on my PSN. Please show this game to some company and get this ported to the PS3, I'd like to try to 100 percent this game. :P

Awe, I remember this being mentioned in the previous Sidescrollers episodes; thought the interview would be a little longer but that's cool. Hopefully this will trigger some more 8 or 16-bit games to be made. It would be cool to fire up to play a newly released game for my SNES.
