Awesome game and looking to pick it up.  BTW you missed reviewing the new rebirth game.  Any chance you would revisit the castlvania reviews and review that game?

He said that he's really only telling of his personal recollection of them and it'd take too long. There's more games in the Castlevania series than Zelda so it makes sense just to review the notable ones.

Also I find it funny how the Nerd insults the protagonist for being a little schoolgirl and the screenshot shows her telling someone not to treat her like a child.

Oh, I'm sorry if I offended you by saying that.  On topic, I don't think any games in the castlevania series are bad (with the exception of the 2 n64 games).  By castlevania Z do you mean castlevania X?

That wasn't Spanish, my mother language. That was Portuguese :P

Similar, but not the same.

That'd be like asking him to review every Mario game - it'd be a video with dozens if not hundreds of parts.  There's so much to say about the original Castlevania alone.  Hell, he didn't even delve very deep into Simon's Quest or Dracula's Curse, so even if he did include some others I doubt he'd be able to say enough to do the games proper justice.

On Castlevania 2, I dunno, I kinda like it.  It does get annoying with the Black Dahlia Murder stuff (lol, wonder if anyone gets that reference), and for a Castlevania game it's pretty bad, but any way you cut it, it did help the evolution of the great series that is Castlevania!  The N64 monstrosity is the true disgrace to the series.

I've also never played Symphony of the Night (I heard there's a new port on XBox 360 and PS3) but after seeing AVGN's review I really want to check it out!

I'm actually looking forward to the day he reviews Paladin's Quest.  I want to hear what he has to say about that game, because to quote him I thought it was a "sh*tload of motherf*cking bullf*ck!"

There was a re release of Symphony of the Night for the Xbox Live Arcade with achievements for the achievement ******, and the original, unmodified version from 1997 released for the original Playstation that is downloadable on the Playstation Network for only $10 which is the one I have.

Symphony of the Night is mostly considered the best game in the Castlevania series for many reasons, mostly because of the fact that there's tons more exploration, plus the backtracking aspects from the Metroid series, and the fact that the voice acting in the original version is pretty cheesy, but don't let that stop you from wanting to play this masterpiece!

I agree tho that its a game you need to play , but i never understood the praise behind it.

There were the 3 Castlevania games for the original Game Boy, then a few for the Game Boy Advance, then a couple for the Nintendo DS on the Nintendo front, meanwhile on the PSP, there's Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles which is an updated 2.5D remake of Akumajou Dracula X: Chi No Rondo a.k.a. Dracula X: Rondo of Blood originally released in 1993 for the PC CD Engine in Japan with new dialogue and voice overs for the port of Symphony of the Night which is included as an unlockable along with the original version of Rondo of Blood with the same English dialogue and voice overs that were recorded for remake.

Speaking of horror genre i would like to hear him talk about that Terrordrome game where classic horror characters like Jason, Freddy and Leatherface fight each other to the death.

I hate Dracula X for the SNES for hardly being a good port  from the original. It's so damn hard to complete and when I reached Dracula, I just shut off my SNES after dying 20 or more times. Funny, Dracula's 2nd form reminds me of Devil Kazuya from the Tekken series. Inspiration? mmm....

Oh yeah, Super Castlevania IV is the best castlevania game in my opinion. The Controls, the stages, the graphics and the music were sooo perfect!!!

It's ashame that so many classic games completely were destroyed by 3D elements.

Aside from Dracula X being a weak game for the series, I remember playing Castlevania 64. I felt that the camera was not only bad, but the game itself feels its been rushed. Wasn't the sequel the real Castlevania 64?

yeah, it was actually quite better, there was music (i guess), and your character was a werewolf.

I've read about it in the Castlevania wiki. The werewolf character was supposed to be playable in the original but they scrapped it due to time constraints. I heard its more better, and it must be awesome playing as a werewolf. Better than some little school girl.

1.- the nerd has an arrangement with screwattack, screwattack has an arrangement with GT to emit the vgv's top tens and such waaaaay before they do.

2.-the complexity of the nerd's videos makes it har to do. plus, he has other stuff to do (check his websit cinemassacre.com
