Web of Shadows Event Fun

As you heard of SideScrollers this past week, Activision was cool enough to invite me out to check out a few of their new games- CoD World at War, Quantum of Solace and the one I was most skeptical about Spiderman: Web of Shadows. Spidey 3 just plain blew, so in all honesty I had low expectations heading in. Were those expectations met? Also, take a listen to what the the Studio Head of Shaba Games says?! SERIOUSLY?! Those are some high expectations.

Come hang with us Halloween night

We talked about it this week on SideScrollers but now we'd like to officially invite you to our Halloween party. If you're a g1 in the North Texas area come in costume and snag some free candy, play some free games and hang out with us and the Ghostbusters... for free. You can bet your ass there will be plenty of "tricks" to go around as well. Watch the video and then RSVP by emailing Corey@ScrewAttack.com and she'll get you on the list.

Check out the official invite here and feel free to pass it around to your friends.

Still confused about where it's at? Take a look here.

Tommy the Toucan

With Screwy the Monkey's untimely death recently we've fallen into the situation of looking for a new unofficial mascot. Insert Tommy the Toucan and his unabashed ability to promote ScrewAttack while still being a total a-hole. He just doesn't give a damn.

Metal Gear Ben invades AnimeFest

Metal Gear Ben can kick Snake's ass. He's so sly and guile... and his ability to promote an awesome gaming event while still being cunning in unparalleled. See for yourself as Metal Gear Ben invades AnimeFest.

The Guitar Hero: World Tour Event

If you haven't heard, Guitar Hero: World Tour is on the way out. As a dude who has never been able to thrash like Harrison Fluster (winner of IMOG 2008), I've never really gotten into the series as much as others. When Activision invited me to come out and check out the new game, I brought two things 1) Producer Andy (who happens to live in LA and kicks ass at GH) and 2) the burning desire to find our what makes this game different than every other Guitar Hero game. Turns out there's a lot and it's actually pretty damn fun. It might just have the Eye of the Tiger.

IMOG 2008 Final Recap

The 2008 iteration of the Iron-Man of Gaming will be remembered for a number of different things- epic matches, a killer atmosphere and a hell of a good time. For those of you who keep saying "I wish I could go but..." really need to buck up and start saving for next year's IMOG trip now. If you've learned anything from ScrewAttack it's that no matter we're involved in we're gonna do our best to make you have a good time- isn't that what gaming is all about anyways? You're damn right.

Vertex Guy!

One of the coolest moments at the Iron-Man this year had to be when Vertex Guy aka Chris Kline hit the stage and absolutely shredding the crowds face off. You may recognize him rocking the stage at Video Game Live and his videos on youtube. Believe me, while providing this recap is cool watching him on video does not do it justice at all. One of the best guitar players you'll ever see, Vertex Guy is in a league of his own. We all had to get in front of the mirror after the show... because he rocked our faces right off. <-- worst joke in history.

*edit* We just received an email from Vertex Guy himself and he informed us that you can now buy the brand new "Bionic Jam" from the upcoming Bionic Commando Game here for only 99 cents! Woo hoo! It was just released and is a perfect fit for all you with video game music libraries in your iPod.

IMOG GT Overview

Our buddy Daniel Kayser from GT was at the IMOG surveying the scenes and taking on all challengers. What were his impressions of the 2008 Iron-Man of Gaming?
