Rpg's Advanced Guide to Marvel Vs Capcom 2 Part 2/3

<a href="http://s203.photobucket.com/albums/aa21/joeycnn/?action=view&current=98c9e32a3c689cc1d29f4949d1bd639a.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa21/joeycnn/98c9e32a3c689cc1d29f4949d1bd639a.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Hello g1's. You may recognize me from the beginner guide I did awhile back. So I decided to teach you g1's things that are way more interesting, on account of everyone getting soooo much better. Though note that this is advanced. If you are just learning the game I suggest looking here.

<a href="http://screwattack.com/node/26567">http://screwattack.com/node/26567</a>

Well with this out of the way, let’s start with the table of contents.

1. Tips on How To Keep Cool
2. Key Ways to Practice
3. Offense
4. Defense
5. Popular Teams
6. Wrap Up

3. Offense

The key thing about offense in MVC2 is to make sure your offense is so good they are afraid to make an attack. You want to pressure them down so they cant move, you want to chip them down so their losing even when blocking and you want to put in some good throw mix-ups to keep them off guard.

First thing you have to learn is pressure, find the right characters and use there speed and power to your advantage. With this, I will post a good offensive character and an assist that will compliment them PERFECTLY! Basically the god combinations of MVC2.

Note: This is not in any certain order.

a. Strider with Dooms anti air assist

Very nasty, with striders orb super and Dooms assist being thrown at the opponent. It does a good amount of damage even if they are blocking. Strider is fast and is able to come at you quick; with rocks flying everywhere it will be hard to try to stop him. Then it is also wonderful thing to use when you want to bring out striders orb super. Just use that then the super; they won’t be able to stop you.

b. Sentinel with Captain Commandos anti air assist

Not only does this increase the damage of Sents air combos, but it also works as a tool for defense as well. Just imagine projectiles being shot at you constantly by sent. Then you try to get closer to sent and beat him down, then comes a giant electric wall saying. "NOOOO!!!" this explains it all right there. It’s just a great way to setup Sents basic stomp patterns and its just annoying to deal with.

c. Storm with Cyclops anti air assist

This is easily the best for beginners. Basically what Cyclops does with Storm is what Captain Commando does with Sentinel. Helps storms combos and just helps her build the entire super meter. Also a very good thing you can do that’s very simple. Use the Cyclops assist, then in the middle of Cyclops hitting use Storms hailstorm super. It does nasty damage and it is a guaranteed hit and very easy to do.

d. Magneto with Psylockes anti air assist

This is one of the most common ones you see, it’s really a basic reason. People use Psy with Magneto because it’s a very easy way to combo with Magnetos infinite. It also just helps Magnetos combos in general, being the fastest character in the game he needs a quick anti air assist as well.

A good example of this being done is right here.

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/_vLo_QXS9r0&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/_vLo_QXS9r0&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Video made by g1 LBC.

e. Iron Man with Cables anti air assist

Same reason as above, it helps setup his infinites. It also helps Iron Man with smart bomb defense and other helpful tactics. I really don’t need to go into this one just because it’s as simple as setting up Irons Mans huge amount of infinites, which is about 75% of Iron Mans skill set.

Here is an example of this infinite being done.

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/o9AOwJqq5oQ&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/o9AOwJqq5oQ&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Video made by g1 LBC.

Last but not least...

f. Anyone with Tron Bonnes projectile assist

When I say everyone I mean everyone. Charlie, Anakaris, Servbot, Morrigan it does not matter it works. Its short range yes but it does so much damage and lets you add in more moves for a combo. It’s just so nasty and its soooo easy to use. This is basically why she is in all my low tier teams. Its just sooo good.

Hope you take all this into consideration, now I will just like to say this to anyone reading. If you like one of the combinations that does not mean you can just blow off and not learn the assist character. If you want to be good you must learn how to use them, this will help your overall team improve much more.

Another thing that helps your offense is, MIX IT UP! Instead of just using hits they can block just by blocking neutral. Throw in a crouch move then continue the combo from there, if they are blocking a lot keep chipping then go in for a throw. Just be sure to mix it up in a way that is safe. Then be sure to always have a good assist to help back up the cause. The problem with offensive characters is that if you don’t have a good assist to help pressure, you will not do nearly as good. With all this said, be sure to also be creative with offense, do things most normal players won’t do. Just make sure it is useful. MVC2 is all about being creative.

4. Defense

MVC2 defense is tricky; it’s as much defense as it is staying in control the whole match. Keep everything your way and make sure your opponent never gets near you. You need to throw out things high and low so they can’t go through. Then you need to be sure to deal HUGE damage if they make a mistake. Basically think about it as this. A wall is your defense, is your wall well constructed with few holes? Or does it have huge gaps your opponent can go through with no trouble?

With that said, defense is not like offense in terms of assist. I mean it helps, but the truly good defensive characters don’t need an assist to play well. Although it does help, here is a list of basically every character that is going to make you break your controller in anger knowing you can’t hit them.

NOTE: This is not in any certain order.

Mega Man
Cyclops
War Machine
Iron Man
Cable
Sentinel
Dr.Doom
Blackheart
Iceman
Spiral

The reason these characters are the best is because they can go up in the air and throw out projectiles. They can go around the screen rather quickly and most importantly... they can control the whole game with an iron fist.

The main focus on how to play defense is how quick you can throw out things and how much ground they will cover. The reason someone like Dhalsim is not here is because most of his projectiles only cover ground while not being able to do much in the air. They are also slow and take awhile to come out. Another key is to make sure that if you throw out the projectile or any move. How safe will you be? What I mean is, are you able to throw out a move and you can block right after it? If so, you can turtle a lot with it and control the match with those few moves. That is why most of these characters are on here. It’s because they are safe.

Well that’s it for part 2 everyone! Be sure to take all this into consideration on how to truly play the game. Be sure to test out the characters and combinations I have given to you and most importantly. HAVE SOME FUN!!!

I would also like to say that part 3 of this guide will be presented 2 weeks early on...

<a href="http://headshotgaming.wordpress.com/">http://headshotgaming.wordpress.com/</a>

So be sure to check the site if you want to get ahead of everyone 2 weeks early.

Well with this out of the way, lets start with the table of contents.

1. Tips On How To Keep Cool
2. Key Ways To Practice
3. Offense
4. Defense
5. Popular Teams
6. Wrap Up

1. Tips On How To Keep Cool

I know what you all are thinking. "What the?! Why is this here?" Now just hear me out for a second. If you guys want to get wins you have to know how to be calm, cool and collective during your matches. I have seen people all the time get so frustrated over fighters and Marvel especially. All it does is cause you to make rookie mistakes and you end up looking like an awful player. So here are some good ways to keep your mindset in good shape during a tournament or a intense match.

A. 99% 1%

What I mean by this is, whenever going into casuals or a tournament match. Have your brain be 99% "I am going to kill him!" and 1% "I might lose I need to be extra cautious." The reason is if you have 100% I am going to win you end up getting cocky and your mindset does easy tactics that cause you to mess up. If you have the mindset of to much caution you end up becoming scared and you feel all weird and you mess up. The little 1% makes all the difference in the world.

B. Don’t Make Excuses

If you keep doing this you will get into a habit of doing and you will become a sore loser, if you learn from your loss and look about what you did wrong it helps you become a stronger player. Never should you just say he sucks he got lucky. Maybe he did but sometimes it really helps if you study the match you just lost, see your mistakes and get better because of it.

C. Feel Comfortable

Find your best position when playing and stick to it. It helps you so much better when you stick to this position, usually at a tournament I sit on a chair then put my arcade stick on another chair in front of me. Some people lay down, some people put it on there lap. I dont care just find a spot you feel good in and it helps. Trust me.

And the most important...

D. NEVER GIVE UP

Some people at tournaments actually drop there controller and just walk away when the opponent has 2 characters and you only have 1. I have made comebacks all the time against friends. Yet some people always think "No way I can win now." It never helps because once you say that you lose. You have to keep playing as hard as you can until the timer stops or someone loses.

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/OT4Bv7kGSZA&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/OT4Bv7kGSZA&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Justin Wong Vs Yipes MVC2 EVO Finals

See? Its always possible.

2. Key Ways To Practice

Some people think some ways of practice are better then others, I am here though to tell you ways that me and most of my friends practice and we get awesome results.

A. Tournaments

Yes I know you practice up to get ready for tournaments, but this is definitely the most intense way to practice. Trust me you always learn something at a tourney. So attend as many of these as possible if you want to get better.

B. Online

Alright need to say, the online is fine as a practice tool 98% of the time. Never use arcade mode if you have a good online. Reason, because the arcade mode uses computers that you can easily abuse with moves. Such as randomly throw a super and it hits. Always play a human you has a good mindset instead of the mind numbing AI.

C. Conventions

These are like casuals to the max, a whole bunch of people you have never seen and you have never played them. Great competition. You always have plenty of people to play instead of the same 10 or so. It helps you get so much better and you learn a fairly good amount.

D. Casuals

Invite some friends over, make some popcorn, bring snacks, play some music and play some mahvel for abit. I do this all the time with 4 of my friends. It always helps to keep your skills sharp and its always good to have friendly competition.

Now finally...

E. Training Mode

This might not be the best or most interesting, but it gets the job done. Choose your best team and go into training mode for like 30 minutes to an hour a day. You WILL get better. Go online and find good strategy’s for your character. All it takes is 30 minutes every day and you will see improvement in like a week I guarantee it.

Well g1’s hoped you liked it, part 2 should be up soon. I know this might be the most informative but trust me these are definitely the main ways to get better.

Here is the link with all the rules, now I know this says only 16 entry’s but who knows? We could do 24, maybe more? It just depends how much you g1's want it and don’t worry I wont stop here. You WILL see more fighting game tourneys, this is one of my favorite genres and I want this to be big. Not with just MVC2, but SF4,BB and hell maybe Third Strike if they give it online.

<a href="http://s203.photobucket.com/albums/aa21/joeycnn/?action=view&current=00000.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa21/joeycnn/00000.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Hey g1's, for an easier way to read all of this I decided to post 1 blog with ALL 3 parts of the beginner MVC2 guide. Of course with some edits to make it more appealing. Hope you like it.

Rpg's Beginner Guide To Marvel Vs Capcom 2

Hey g1's! Are you tired of getting a loss after loss to Marvel at the arcade? Are you tired of spending hours trying to find some info to help you out and its just random gibberish you can barely understand? Well I am here to help by posting this guide. With a good understanding of some of the basics of this game to get you on your feet. If you fully use this guide to an advantage. You will be ready to destroy online when this game hits XBL and PSN June 29th! Trust me, I am gonna take you for a ride. (Lamejokeover)

Well lets first start with the table of contents.

1. Definitions.
2. How to start a good team.
3. How to play offence.
4. How to play defense.
5. Assist.
6. Wrap up.

1. Definitions.

This will basically be the top 10 things that most beginners need to know. It wont be things that you see in other fighters like chip damage or cancels. Just things that you will mostly see in MVC2.

MVC2: Marvel Vs Capcom 2 abbreviated into something smaller, usually used online for a more convenient way of typing it out. Get use to it, because you will be seeing this a lot.

Air Combos: Combos that take part in the air, usually you use some move on the ground to shoot the opponent in the air. This move is called a launcher, once launched you can use continuous attacks in the air for a combo string. Air combos are a must know in this game for they are basic and can take good damage if you do some correctly.

Launcher: A move that shoots your opponent in the air, usually to start off a combo. Most characters can do the launcher by crouching at a certain angle and doing a hard punch or hard kick. While some characters have different ways to do the launcher. That is the most common.

Super Jump: A jump that fly’s you higher in the air, this can be used to catch a flying opponent(Will be mentioned in Part 2) or to go in the air for a combo. You do a super jump by crouching and quickly jumping. It needs to be one quick motion, when done correctly your character will have a blue aura around it and the character will jump in the air much farther.

Assist: This is a move that happens when you press one of the partner buttons. Partner A calls the 2nd person in your party and partner B calls the 3rd person. They show up and do a single move that you chose during the character select screen. They help in multiple ways it takes time to figure out which one fits your style . You have 3 options for each character and they can only do that one assist for the whole match. You cant use an assist move when you are attacking, in the air, or being attacked at.

Push Back: When blocking, if you press both punch buttons at the same time right when someone is hitting you. You will cause push back, your opponent and your character will then be pulled back from each other. Causing more breathing room. Commonly used when they are adding chip damage or trying to pressure. Basically think of it as a parry in Third Strike, except its a different use and you press both punch buttons. Though it does not require completely strict timing, it does take practice to master it.

In Air Specials: Unlike other games, usually you can only throw a fireball or uppercut on the ground. Though in this game some characters have special moves you can do mid air that normally would not be things you could do in the air. Such as Ryu can fireball in the air and Ken can uppercut in the air. This takes some getting use too, once you do it certainly helps to fire a beam across the screen when in the air.

Triple and Double Supers: In MVC2, you have 5 bars of super. You can just do the specific super motion to use just 1 super. Though say you have 2 bars of super. Hold down both the partner A and partner B buttons. The 2nd member of your party comes out and does his super. The super that the 2nd and 3rd character uses depends on the assist. Then you use 2 bars, if you have 3 bars. All 3 members of your team come out and use the super. Though it uses 3 bars of super.

Infinites: A combo that never ends. Once the combo starts you can keep doing the same moves in a row and the opponent has no chance in blocking it. Though it can eliminate a whole characters life bar quick. It does require REALLY STRICT timing, and some of them are completely useless.

And now the most important and final tip.

Its Different: A mistake I see with people starting the game is that they play it like Street Fighter or CVS2. You cant just hard kick trip kick, spam fireballs carelessly and do a 2 hit cancel like you can in other games. You have to elaborate more, use more moves and combos and play a smart defensive game. When entering this game treat like a completely different and be ready to learn more things.

2. How to start a good team.

Just incase you didn’t know...
<a href="http://s203.photobucket.com/albums/aa21/joeycnn/?action=view&current=20081013_9.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa21/joeycnn/20081013_9.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

THERES 56 CHARACTERS!!!

Its crazy, you have to think about a lot of things before you make your team. I will just break it down to show you guys what you need to make sure it all comes together good.

For starters, divide the screen by Capcom and Marvel. It makes the big mess look a lot easier to deal with. Think about older games. Such as MVC1 and the old Xmen games, who were good in those? Then who are top dogs in Street Fighter and so on.

You also need a balance feel. For a good solid. Have an all a rounder, who has above average skills for most situations. Then have the strong character, big and slow but strong. Then have the quick character. Super fast and hard to get away from. For example I use Magneto, Sentinel and Psylocke. Magneto is the speed while Sent is the powerhouse and Psy keeps everything together.

Make sure you have the best assist to cover all needs, we will get to that in a later chapter because that’s a whole art by itself. Then make sure they have supers that work well with each others, so if you use the double or triple supers. You can deal damage, some teams cant though. Such as mine, but it does have an advantage having a really powerful super with 3 bars. Its also really cool. Try doing Cable, Iron Man and War Machine and use all the laser supers at the same time. GOOOD STUFF!

Most importantly, do they all work well with each other. Does the team cover all aspects. I cant really describe but when you are switching all the characters around and you finally find the three that fit perfectly together. You will feel a click. When the 3 compliment each other perfectly, you will then start getting the wins.

3. How to play offence.

The key to MVC2 is not just having a good team, its having good offence with your team. Unlike some games you cant use Dhalsim to turtle, and you cant sit there and throw fireballs and beams across the screen for the whole match. Now turtling to reqroup to the side and take a breather is good, but you should only do this for a short period of time in MVC2. You need to know how to pressure to make your oppenents clueless. If you can do this you will be feared.

First we will talk about how to pressure. This is just get on top of them mixing fast moves with chip damage from specials. You never leave their site and you should be the only character attacking if your doing this correctly. Throw a assit in there to for extra chip damage. Usually a projectile would help this situation. Now every character can pressure, its just that some do it poorly and others have all of their strengths in pressure. Basically it goes like this...

Good characters at pressure:
Magneto
Sentinel
Psylocke
Bone and Steel Wolverine
Amingo
War Machine
Iron Man
Silver Samurai
Sabretooth
Gambit
Anakaris
Hayato
Juggernaut
Sprial
T.Bonne
Colossus
Strider
Hulk
Storm

Characters who cant really pressure all that well:
Dhalsim
Guile
Charlie
Roll
Servbot
Dan
SonSon
Iceman
M.Bison
Morrigan
Sakura
Dr.Doom

Everyone else is in the middle.

Take this into really big consideration while making a team. Yet some of that people who cant pressure are insanely good at turtling and playing defence.

Another thing you need to know is the basic combo that most characters can do. This is a simple air combo that consists of mostly the same buttons and goes between a 5-7 hit combo. This combo is...

Launcher,LPorLK,LPorLK,LPorLK then HP.

Each character is different, but I am pretty sure all of them have in air combo along these lines. The reason it is LP or LK is because you have to do the oppisite as the next hit. For example, have the first one is LP chances are you should LK next unless the character can LP again. Of course you need to figure this out for your character. So usually it goes LP,LK,LP or LK,LP,LK. You do need to expirment on which ones will hit, though this is the most basic and this is how everyone gets started in MVC2. Then experts just take the combo and make it better.

4. How to play defense.

The main key to basic defense in this game is pretty simple. BLOCK!!! This game needs you to be blocking, if you don’t in other games its not that bad. If you don’t block in this any decent player can have 1 of your characters down in under a minute. You also need to add some pushback into it. This will help by giving you breathing room which helps rethink everything and it actually helps you perform a lot better.

Now turtling, just incase no one knows its when you stay at the other corner of the screen and throw projectiles. Then if they get close you just do an anti air or some move that has huge knock back. In this game you can do that except abit differently, and you must do it for shorter periods of time. The best way to do it is too use a projectile then have a projectile assist. It helps to have double the damage if it hits and double the chip. The short timing though just depends on how quickly you think the opponent can figure out the pattern. You also need to know how well some of the characters can turtle, here’s the list.

Characters who can turtle well:
Dhalsim
Cable
Mega Man
Guile
Charlie
Sentinel
Magneto
Cyclops
War Machine
Iron Man
Ice Man
Black Heart
Storm
Omega Red

Characters who cant really turtle at all:
Dan
Roll
Servbot
Ruby Heart
Amingo
SonSon
Felicia
Morrigan
Ken
Ryu
Akuma
Bone and Steel Wolverine
Sabretooth
Silver Samurai
Zangief
Captain America
Juggernaut
Spiral
Sakura
M.Bison
Cammy
Jill
Hulk

Everyone else is in the middle, try to take this in consideration when balancing out your team.

Well obviously defense is not the biggest part of MVC2, these are the stripped down basics. Block, Pushback and know how to turtle.

5. Assist

NOTE: There is 2 assist buttons in MVC2, Assit1 brings out the 2nd guy of the team and Assit2 brings out the 3rd. You can change where the buttons place due to button config. You have 3 different assist options. A,B or Y. The order of which assists differ between all characters.

We already went over what the assists do in Part 1, though you may think this is a small part of the game. This could make the difference between a win and a loss. Most people don’t stress this enough but I think this is what makes a good team. You can have 3 amazing characters but if there assists are awful then that can definitely factor the best your team can reach.

To help you know the differences, here a list of all the assist with a brief description of what they do.

Expansion- Basically the most basic of assist, kind of hard to describe because its different for each character.

Ground- A assist that usually helps in ground pressure, usually as a projectile on the ground or a strong attack that covers a good amount of the stage.

Variety- Something that differs between all characters, and has different outcomes depending on how you use it.

Projectile- Obvious assist, helps play defense and also helps your zone game. Of course some projectiles are better then others.

Anti Air- These are the most deadly, something that can cover a good amount of air or can setup nice combos. Usually good against people who jump in too much. Some of the best assists in the game are Anti airs. Though you should never have your whole team based around them.

Balance- Usually just a projectile assist yet you have a different super for your character. Of course you can use the 1 super in the normal way of a button combination. Though if you choose this assist when you bring all 3 characters out the character with this assist will have a different super then say his projectile assist.

Dash- Pretty simple, a assist that gets the character dashing right at the other side of the screen. Usually does good damage and shoots the opponent away if they are trying to pressure.

Capture- A assist that captures the opponent in a orb or bubble or something. Sets up combos, catches them off guard and can sometimes combo into super.

Launcher- A assist that launches your opponent in the air for combos, I find this pointless for you already have a move that does that.

Heal- A move that if you touch a certain food or something near the assist character you regain some health. Be careful though because your opponent can also use it once it is out.

Enhance- Usually something fast or speedy, kind of like a dash. Pretty simple.

Throw- If the opponent is right next to the assist character they then will be thrown. Some do good damage and some lightly toss them in the air for combos.

Air Throw- This assist is only owned by Zangief. When he comes out he does a throw except in the air. Basically think of it as a risky anti air.

See all the differences? Yeah it might be tough at first, but can be easy if you know how to choose. The best way to think of assists is that you should never have the same kind on the team. All 3 of them should be different. The most basic usually consists of one anti air, one projectile and one of any other kind. Though you can switch it around anyway you like. Here’s an example.

My team is Magneto-A/Sentinel-Y/Psylocke-A

In order it is projectile, ground and anti air. Magneto's projectile is a laser that covers good ground and stays out for a long time. Sentinel's assist is amazing, he shoots out 3 hands near the ground that follow the opponent. With possible 3 hits and you can combo after. This is great for pressure. Then Psylocke and her anti air is not good for damage, but covers a good amount of the air making it difficult for the opponent to go over it. It also helps set up the oh so nasty Magneto infinite.

So figure out the 3 characters you like the most and play around with the total of the 9 assists. Figure out which ones are most effective and use them.

Also for the sake of keeping track here is the list of the best assists. Of course this is by my standards, but trust me. Some of these are nasty.

Captain Commando: Anti-air assist.
Cyclops: Anti-air assist.
Doctor Doom: Anti-air assist.
Psylocke: Anti-air assist.
Sentinel: Projectile or ground assist.
Tron Bonne: Projectile assist.

Go try them out, I should not need to explain them. They are just that nasty.

6. Wrap Up

Well Marvel players, you have now come this far. I must say it was fun making this guide. Remember all the tips I gave you g1's. Remember the definitions, figure out your team, and make your offence and defense the best there is. Most importantly, figure out the assist. I hope to play some PS3 users when online hits. I really am glad I have received positive feedback, and remember if anyone has a question about there team or anything of the game. Ask me! I am open to answering any questions. With all this said.
Rpg's Beginner Guide to Marvel Vs Capcom 2 Part 3/3

<a href="http://s203.photobucket.com/albums/aa21/joeycnn/?action=view&current=00000-2.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa21/joeycnn/00000-2.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

You will be ready to destroy online when this game hits XBL and PSN July 29th!(To bad it got delayed... so now I don’t know) Trust me, I am gonna take you for a ride. (Lamejokeover)

Well lets first start with the table of contents.

1. Definitions.
2. How to start a good team.
3. How to play offence.
4. How to play defense.
5. Assist.
6. Wrap up.

Note: This is part 3, please make sure you have read part 1 and 2 before reading this.

Part 2: <a href="http://screwattack.com/node/23809">http://screwattack.com/node/23809</a>

Part 1: <a href="http://screwattack.com/node/23227">http://screwattack.com/node/23227</a>

Before the guide starts I would like to tell all readers that I’m sorry for the wait. School was getting annoying and SGC was sooooo much fun I didn’t really have the energy to do this. XDDD So once again I’m sorry.

5. Assist.
6. Wrap up.

Note: This is part 2, please make sure you have read part 1 before reading this.

Part 1: <a href="http://screwattack.com/node/23227">http://screwattack.com/node/23227</a>

3. How to play offence.

The key to MVC2 is not just having a good team, its having good offence with your team. Unlike some games you cant use Dhalsim to turtle, and you cant sit there and throw fireballs and beams across the screen for the whole match. Now turtling to regroup to the side and take a breather is good, but you should only do this for a short period of time in MVC2. You need to know how to pressure to make your opponents clueless. If you can do this you will be feared.

First we will talk about how to pressure. This means just get on top of them mixing fast moves with chip damage from specials. You never leave their site and you should be the only character attacking if your doing this correctly. Throw a assist in there for extra chip damage. Usually a projectile would help this situation. Now every character can pressure, its just that some do it poorly and others have all of their strengths in pressure. Basically it goes like this...

Good characters at pressure:
Magneto
Sentinel
Psylocke
Bone and Steel Wolverine
Amingo
War Machine
Iron Man
Silver Samurai
Sabretooth
Gambit
Anakaris
Hayato
Juggernaut
Sprial
T.Bonne
Colossus
Strider
Hulk
Storm

Characters who cant really pressure all that well:
Dhalsim
Guile
Charlie
Roll
Servbot
Dan
SonSon
Iceman
M.Bison
Morrigan
Sakura
Dr.Doom

Everyone else is in the middle.

Take this into really big consideration while making a team. Yet some of those characters who cant pressure are insanely good at turtling and playing defense.

Another thing you need to know is the basic combo that most characters can do. This is a simple air combo that consists of mostly the same buttons and goes between a 5-7 hit combo. This combo is...

Launcher,LPorLK,LPorLK,LPorLK then HP.

Each character is different, but I am pretty sure all of them have an air combo along these lines. The reason it is LP or LK is because you have to do the opposite as the next hit. For example, if the first one is LP chances are you should LK next unless the character can LP again. Of course you need to figure this out for your character. So usually it goes LP,LK,LP or LK,LP,LK. You do need to experiment on which ones will hit, though this is the most basic and this is how everyone gets started in MVC2. Then experts just take the combo and make it better.

Another thing you should know is how to use the supers. To use a super you can do the hold both partner buttons (which we already talked about) or do the super motion and only bring one person out. Now something you will find interesting about MVC2 is that if you time it right you can bring out the 2nd persons super. For example, say I am using Cyclops. I use his giant beam of a super, in the middle of it if you do the super motion for the Iron Man beam when he is the 2nd character in your party. He will then come out, replace Cyclops and do his super. Then you can do this a 3rd time. This is really helpful to add additional damage, though you need to make sure all the supers they have are able to combo into each other.

With this, you will soon be able to do a lot of other things with this game. These bare basics will help you become better at pressure, combos and dealing damage.

Well g1's hope you liked it, part 3 will hopefully be up soon. If you all have any questions or concerns let me know and I can answer. Also please comment and rate.

See ya in part 3.

Rpg's Beginner Guide To Marvel Vs Capcom 2 Part 1/3

<a href="http://s203.photobucket.com/albums/aa21/joeycnn/?action=view&current=00000.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa21/joeycnn/00000.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Well that’s part 1 g1’s, hope you all learned something! Part 2 will be posted soon! If you have any questions or comments or any criticism to help make the guide even better post them here.

Top Ten Greatest Fighting Game Moves

Hey all, rpgfighter here to bring you a top ten. The Top Ten Greatest Fighting Game moves of all time!!! They can be normal moves, projectiles or any special or super. They can also be a move to setup a combo. Their can only be 1 move per character and they have to be good, not broken. So know 1 hit KO stuff...

10. Dhalsim's Hard Punch

<a href="http://s203.photobucket.com/albums/aa21/joeycnn/?action=view&current=dhal-sf2-a3.gif" target="_blank"><img src="http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa21/joeycnn/dhal-sf2-a3.gif" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

This is a really good normal, a decent amount of damage. Good range and a great poke to catch them off guard. This is just one of the few things in his amazing arsenal. Its setbacks are its low recovery and how you can throw a super at Dhalsim when he does this.

9. M. Bison's Medium Kick

<a href="http://s203.photobucket.com/albums/aa21/joeycnn/?action=view&current=bison-sc-a3.gif" target="_blank"><img src="http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa21/joeycnn/bison-sc-a3.gif" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Amazing poke, it can be an anti air on good timing and it can hit them while crouching. It’s fast to bring out so if you miss chances of those punishing you are slim. It also has decent range. Yet not that much damage and you can’t really link or cancel anything into it.

8. Dudley's Crouching Hard Kick

<a href="http://s203.photobucket.com/albums/aa21/joeycnn/?action=view&current=dudley-cp6.gif" target="_blank"><img src="http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa21/joeycnn/dudley-cp6.gif" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

One word, JUGGLES. You fling them in the air causing so many options of damage. It’s also unexpected if you play right and its timing is weird so it’s hard to parry. A very deadly move... Though it has the huge setbacks, such as its really only useful if they are in the corner. You also will be punished if you get too predictable.

7. K's Uppercut

<a href="http://s203.photobucket.com/albums/aa21/joeycnn/?action=view&current=k-upper.gif" target="_blank"><img src="http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa21/joeycnn/k-upper.gif" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

If anyone here plays KOF, you know what I am talking about. Great vertical and horizontal range, good damage and just overall as basic as a good move gets. Though like all uppercuts if you miss you are wide open for the worst...

6. Cyclops's Super

<a href="http://s203.photobucket.com/albums/aa21/joeycnn/?action=view&current=cyclops-megaoptic2.gif" target="_blank"><img src="http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa21/joeycnn/cyclops-megaoptic2.gif" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

At first this might look bad, but it is this good. It can be canceled into easily, it racks up damage and you can move it in all directions. The greatest thing of it though... you can do it in the AIR!!! This alone is crazy to an amazing in the air combo and then finishing with this. The only flaw is that you have to hit them right on point to do the most damage. They have to be right in the middle of that small beam...

5. Chun Li's Crouching Medium Kick

<a href="http://s203.photobucket.com/albums/aa21/joeycnn/?action=view&current=Chun-1.gif" target="_blank"><img src="http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa21/joeycnn/Chun-1.gif" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

This move is amazing!!! Its fast, its good range it’s an amazing poke and you can cancel into super. Obviously it does not do that much damage, but it’s just meant to be a turtle move and one of the greatest no less. Watch out for this one...

4. Iron Man's Super

<a href="http://s203.photobucket.com/albums/aa21/joeycnn/?action=view&current=iron-proton.gif" target="_blank"><img src="http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa21/joeycnn/iron-proton.gif" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

This is probably one of the best supers in Marvel Vs Capcom 2. It covers the screen, ALOT OF DAMAGE and even if they block the chip damage is insane. Throw that in as an anti air... yeah its true. The only small problem is it’s slow to bring out and slow to end.

3. Ryu's Jumping Medium Kick

<a href="http://s203.photobucket.com/albums/aa21/joeycnn/?action=view&current=A.gif" target="_blank"><img src="http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa21/joeycnn/A.gif" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

I know I will get flamed for this one, but it still is one of ryu's best moves. One of the most basic crossups and can be the start of a combo to just about anything. Its quick and it beats out most in air moves. The only problem is how predictable you can get with this if you aren’t careful. This is a tip though, don’t use his hard kick. Learn this cross up and just set up combos!

2. Yun's 3rd Super

<a href="http://s203.photobucket.com/albums/aa21/joeycnn/?action=view&current=483442db.gif" target="_blank"><img src="http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa21/joeycnn/483442db.gif" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Once you see this super come up, just run away from Yun. Big damage and it's easy to cancel. It’s also a nice way to show off! Its fast and you can’t be countered no matter when it ends. The only 1 problem is that it takes a lot of practice to do this correct, once you do though half of their health is gone for free.

AND NOW NUMBER 1!!!

1. Sagat's Tiger

<a href="http://s203.photobucket.com/albums/aa21/joeycnn/?action=view&current=snes_ssf2_sagattiger.gif" target="_blank"><img src="http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa21/joeycnn/snes_ssf2_sagattiger.gif" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Holy crap, best thing ever... can go up and down, fast or slow. Best recovery of any fireball, good damage and stun. It’s just a god move... nothing bad can come from this!!! If they jump over one just do it again and it will hit. Just sooooo fast, you can just win with this one move and maybe an uppercut somewhere. Nothing beats this; this is just right on the line between amazing and broken.

Hope yall liked this! Peace!

What Could Go Wrong With Street Fighter IV

Hey g1's. rpgfighter here to bring you another What Could Go Wrong? This issue we will talk about the upcoming and amazing looking game that is Street Fighter IV. Coming to 360 and PS3 February 17th. Now we all know the game looks great and all, but I am just going to point out some things that could possibly roundhouse kick this game to bits. Soooooo lets get it going. Before we begin I would like to state that I have played the arcade at MAGfest, so most of the stuff I will say will be by what I saw.

1. The new gameplay system.
As a lot of us know already, parrying is gone. It has been replaced by the new focus attack. A move used by pressing both Medium Punch and Kick at the same time. It takes 2 hits for them to be stunned by the move, and can setup mean combos. Super jumps are also gone, but that speaks for itself. Now how is this a problem? Well their's many people out there who loved all the SF3 mechanics in general. This might make the fan base smaller. People also claim that this could make the game as complicated, but whatever we will just have to see how this will pan out.

2. No SF3 cast.
This is coming from me and many other fans, we know this goes against the storyline and all... BUT WHERE ARE THE SF3 CHARACTERS? I would have killed to see Dudley, Ibuki or even Alex make it to the game. Also my hunch was going to be that they would add characters from Street Fighter 3 The New Generation, which was the first installment. I just thought that maybe they might of had fighting careers that began between the gap of SF2 and SF3. I guess I was wrong, hopefully we can see them though in upcoming games.

3. 3-D a problem?
A lot of people still disagree with it being 2.5D, I can definitely see why. Maybe people will be upset over the new look and bury it in there shelves. A lot of people are willing to accept the change, but of course there will always be the naysayer’s. I’m just glad it didn’t really change the overall SF feel of the game. Plays just like it always has.

4. Online in general.
Now from what I have seen the online looks lagless, but who knows? Their might be huge glitches, or it could go the route of HD remix and have weird disconnects. Or another speculation. What if we get nothing but cheap *****. Now this usually always happens, but I don’t want to face a Sagat or a Seth (The final boss) every other time I go online. Hopefully we will see some lagless, clean diversity.

5. Bad sales.
This is a small chance, but what if the sales of the game lead to a downfall? This might be the last chance for a mainstream fighting game. This might cause fighters to stop being made, if this fails who knows what will happen to the genre. Of course though this has a slight chance but you never know.

Now the final reason this game could fail...

6. Awful port to home console?
Who knows? Maybe the game will go through so much patches compared to the arcade they may screw everything up! Glitches, bugs, however you might call them might come up and make the game unplayable. Infinites, inescapable cornering could diminish the mechanics. Hopefully they don’t go to overboard with the home version or we may end up with one of the worst street fighters to date!

Well there you have it g1's. Just some quick little points we may need to watch out for. If you liked or disliked it, have any questions or anything like that. Comment or PM me. Please don’t forget to rate, and hell digg if you really liked it!

See you all online, don’t cry to hard when I punish you with Balrog...

Top 10 Most Underestimated Fighting Games EVER!

Hey g1's! rpgfighter here bringing you a list of the top 10 most underestimated fighting games EVER! Just those games you have never heard of or never got into, when they are insanely fun! So lets get started!!!

10. Pocket Fighter

This game is manly. Don’t believe me? JUST LOOK AT THE COVERART!

<a href="http://photobucket.com/images/pocket%20fighter" target="_blank"><img src="http://i354.photobucket.com/albums/r440/thoughtoftheweek/pocket_fighter_front.jpg" border="0" alt="Pocket Fighter Pictures, Images and Photos"/></a>

Manly huh? Well obviously this was a joke fighting game, you choose a character and you try to make the other one lost all there energy. While collecting gems that help you become stronger and use your special. This was pretty much ignored to the general public for it being this weird, but it is actually pretty solid! The gameplay is solid, smooth and fastpaced while playing as your favorite characters in hilarious chibi form! Not only did it play good, but it makes you laugh hysterically at some points. Definietly pick this up for some laughs and some fun!

<object width="320" height="265"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/3iJWz2cqCaA&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/3iJWz2cqCaA&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="320" height="265"></embed></object>

9. Art of Fighting 3

A Fighter that is really ignored, it had slow gameplay and took out some characters from previous games but it was still fun. It had bigger spirited then usual fighters, it also was pretty technical for compared to other 2-D fighting games at the time. It has gotten a good fanbase around the SNK'ers, and it certainly wouldn’t be hard finding on Amazon or something. I would say give it shot, you could find a new favorite.

<object width="320" height="265"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/BjbKwh3mU-Y&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/BjbKwh3mU-Y&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="320" height="265"></embed></object>

8. X-Men: Children of the Atom

This was the first game to use that Marvel Vs Capcom feel. Once Marvel Vs Capcom 2 came out this was pretty much thrown into the rubble, even though it was still a great fighter. Sure it isn’t balanced but it was fun. Think of it as Marvel Vs Capcom, with X-men Characters. Pretty much putting out the cream of the crop in the game, a lot of no shows though. Yet still unbalanced, and Storm and Sentinel are the Sagat and Dhalisim of this game. It was a stepping stone of a fighting game giant.

<object width="320" height="265"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2w6DFpiZnqI&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2w6DFpiZnqI&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="320" height="265"></embed></object>

7. Soul Edge

This game suffered from what X-men suffered from, once the sequels were out this was forgotten. When I find it superior then most of its bigger brothers. This was one of the pre- Soul Calibers. It played the same and was really smooth. It had a good character roster and was so different at the time. Not much to say about it because it is just Soul Caliber 0, but if we want to be around greatness. Pick this one up.

<object width="320" height="265"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/KuqczfKHNkc&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/KuqczfKHNkc&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="320" height="265"></embed></object>

6. Power Stone 2

Its pretty well heard of but know one plays it. It is very fun with a smooth feel to it. The sequel added some more things, such as stupid characters but that’s okay. It was really fun and different and was pretty much was the first smash bros. With all that 4 player party mayhem. You probably didn’t have this in your dreamcast because you were probably to busy playing Street Fighter 3. It might not have aged that well, but if you have 3 friends over and they feel like playing another 4 player game instead of Halo and Brawl. This would be the one to bring out for sure.

<object width="320" height="265"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/MXyHTRWrm_U&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/MXyHTRWrm_U&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="320" height="265"></embed></object>

5. Darkstalkers 3

Alright you know Morrigan, that girl from EVERY Marvel Vs game that is the sexy bat girl? Well this is the game she is from, and it is really good! With a pretty good fighting system with Monster on Monster battles. From Bat girls, to snow monsters, to vampires, to cats, to who knows what! They are here in a dark original fighter as Darkstalkers 3. Although a pretty small roster for the time, it was still fun and way underappreciated. A must have for any fighter, or at least the people who want to know where the hell Morrigan came from.

<object width="320" height="265"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/e9CVIGlSMlM&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/e9CVIGlSMlM&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="320" height="265"></embed></object>

4. Blazblue

When I heard about this game and when it was made by the dudes of Guilty Gear, I thought people would love this! Turns out I am the only one who has heard of it! It is very recent, so that means AMAAAAAZING 2-D sprites. The art in the game is my favorite things, while still having amazing gameplay. Half of the reason that no one has heard or played it is because it has only been out in arcades. I went on a trip to Western Kentucky to see one of my brothers, a restaurant had it and I could not stop playing. If you ever see this artistic, fast paced game at a arcade. Play it! it is insanely fun and you wont be disappointed.

<object width="320" height="265"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/CJmjVIXQrZE&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/CJmjVIXQrZE&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="320" height="265"></embed></object>

3. Project Justice

Love this game, absolutely love it! A sequel to Rival Schools, this game is just a fun air combo filled 3 on 3 tag team 3-D fighter with one of my favorite soundtracks based off of a Japan School! Play as the preps, the sportys, weirdo’s even the teachers! As you customize your team of 3 in a amazing experience. You probably skipped this one for Tekken, Marvel Vs Capcom and Capcom Vs SNK 2, but this is a must play. Fighting games at there finest, it might not have the Street Fighter fanbase, but their is fans! It is pretty pricy, but if you buy it your Dreamcast will on for hours!

<object width="320" height="265"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/iRv6HiupQ6U&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/iRv6HiupQ6U&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="320" height="265"></embed></object>

2. King of Fighters XI (11)

Man good old KOF, while having a fanbase this series always wanted to be better then Street Fighter, but boy it always fails. Not saying its a bad game! With 3 on 3 gaming, with a interesting yet playable engine makes this one of the sleekest smoothest fighters to date! With a learning curve that is pretty easy to pick up yet hard to master this is a fighter that anyone can get into. It is always fun and has its own unique style that is breath of fresh air. They have so many characters in the game and with barely any clones in site. Everyone that even has the smallest hint of being a fighting game fan must own this game for there PS2. Just awesome, if anyone has this at SGC, play me. Not my best fighter, but I have such a blast playing this with other people.

AND THE NUMBER 1 MOST UNDERESTIMATED FIGHTING GAME OF ALL TIME ISSSSSS................

1. Samurai Showdown 2

Hell yeah! With awesome sword vs sword bloody samurai battles to the death how can you NOT like this game. With a amazing smooth feel for its time, a great balance and sweet cast of characters make this game even better. I don’t really see any problem with this game other then the graphics, but it is just simple 1 on 1 samurai battles. Its fun, its balanced and it just plays amazingly well. For anyone owning a wii get this on the Virtual Console, get a classic controller and play this. You will not regret it!

MTV's Tragic Story

Well we all know what MTV is, it stands for Music Television, but I have been pondering of why it is still called that. I will be talking about what the famous house hold name by the decades starting from the classic rock 80's, to the confused 90's, and all the way to the political incorrect state of the 2000's. So sit and relax as I take you back in time to something that was once cool.

August 1st, 1981: Opening Day.
On this day, at 12:01 PM, John Lack said the words that will forever be stuck in any teenagers head, "Ladies and gentlemen, rock and roll." Then the original MTV theme song playing over a montage of edited Apollo 13 clips.

<a href="http://s203.photobucket.com/albums/aa21/joeycnn/?action=view&current=Mtvmoon.png" target="_blank"><img src="http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa21/joeycnn/Mtvmoon.png" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

With the first video up, Video Killed the Radio Star by the Buggles, kids were pumped, for they had no idea how big this will get.

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/XWtHEmVjVw8&hl=en&fs=1"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/XWtHEmVjVw8&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Video Killed the Radio Star By The Buggles.

1983-1984: Early Signs Of Racism.
When the MTV first started airing, they only played songs of anything under the general "Rock" genre. They refused to play any other artists music for this reason, both African American artists such as Michael Jackson and Rick James were shot down for the R&B and Pop style, they fought back fiercely fought back at MTV (mostly Rick James) for calling the producers racist. Then Walter Yetnikoff, President of CBS records announced that they would stop the refusal or else they would refuse of putting any video of music under the CBS records label. Obviously they accepted, and Michael Jackson’s "Thriller" became one of the most popular videos of the era.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtyJbIOZjS8">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtyJbIOZjS8</a>
Michael Jackson's Thriller.

1986- 1900: The Triple Threat.
Now through this time, all sorts of genres were added. In 1986 the show 120 Minutes was made. When they showed all kinds of alternative style music. This became a huge hit as people loved hearing something different. Then in 1987 came my favorite that is still around the MTV channels. The Headbangers Ball. Showing all kinds of Heavy Metal and Hard Rock late at night. This was then followed by a huge trend in 1988 called Yo! MTV Raps. A show contradicting of Rap to Hip Hop and some R&B certainly the most mainstream and popular for it being aired more then the previous two.

Well that’s the 80's, I will make part two discussing the 90's sooner or later. Don’t worry, I will get to the stuff you want to hear soon.

See ya g1's!

What Could Go Wrong With SGC?

Well with all of the SGC celebration I felt like making a blog to join in! I will just post some things that could go wrong with this amazing convention, obviously some of this will probably not happen, but it does not hurt to point out worse case scenarios. So here we go!

1. Game Problems
Well with all those consoles and all those people. Maybe something can go wrong, such examples as the red ring, old system not responding due to multiple reasons of some sort, or maybe a game scratching, I can only imagine how awful that must feel, ESPECIALLY during the IMOG.

2. No Turn Out
I am pretty sure I will be going, but what if they don’t get as much people as they wanted, that would make them feel like crap and it is always awkward when there is only a VERY few amount of people.

3. No cool ideas
Now this one has probably the least chance of happening, but what if they ran out of cool little extra things to do? People love all those little extra things, and the last thing we need is stupid ones, once again I doubt this will happen, and if they think they don’t have the most awesome ideas, maybe they could make the g1's decide, but that is another story.

4. Annoying People?
We know what happened last year, but at least they apologized. I just would hate to come to this great convention to hang out with all my g1 friends, when there is nothing but annoying guys or girls screwing around. This is probably going to happen like it always has, but I just hope it won’t be as bad.

5. 4th of July Weekend
I really think that doing this the 4th of July weekend will not be smart, with all the planes and public transportation being crowded; it might not be worth going through all that annoying crap. I will still go no matter what, but I just have a feeling they will get more people to show up if they would do a different week.

6. Bad Area
Another small one but what if they just get a bad place to hold the convention, I am pretty sure Craig and them will get a cool place, but what if they just get unlucky with the timing? I would hate to have a dark, small, smelly place to hang with all the g1's and staff.

NOW THE WORSE THAT COULD HAPPEN THAT PROBOBLY NEVER WILL HAPPEN ISSSSSSSSSS...

7. What If It Just Doesn’t Happen?
What if something so bad comes up that they would have to cancel SGC? Now this definitely won’t happen because the staff isn’t stupid, they would not organize something this huge thing half-minded. We can trust them well enough, but maybe something with a family member or something related to their own life. This is more about luck then unorganized planning.

Hope you all liked my blog, if you enjoyed it or agree, leave a comment. If you hated the blog or disagree, still live a comment. I love constructive criticism.

What Could Go Wrong With Little Big Planet?

Oh LBP, a game that has been getting a lot of attention, especially now. This game does look good, a decent platformer with a lot of things you can customize with. I will just post a list of what can go wrong with the game based off of things I have heard, read, and seen. It will just be a simple numbered list in any order. Hope you enjoy!

1. The "community".
We might see this, but all who have seen this no what am talking about, those levels that are made to look like other objects that no one likes to see. Penises, ******s, and other things. You might find it funny now but what will happen when we get the game? Plenty of kid spammers will spam this crap on the PSN. If their is also a PM'ing system where you can privately show someone a course via message, then that will be even worse. Perverts and annoying kids will spam your inbox with just BS. Of course this one is mostly hypothetically.

2. The Casual.
I’m not going to take a stab at casual gaming (I know where that got me last time...) but this is a new series. Us hardcore have seen and read plenty of things to see if we want to purchase, rent or not bother with the game. What about the kids that are not so into it. Its a brand new series. You cant really tell if their is a backstory with those kind of characters, and they might just not like platformers. I have noticed that the game is marketed to family’s, the moms will think its cute the dads will think its cool, and the big brothers or big sisters will think its cool and cute. Now that might be a problem when they might not even know the series well. Of course this could yet again not be that big of a issue.

3. Sequels or DLC?
Now this could cause some controversy. Would they make a sequel or just add all their ideas with their DLC? I myself just prefer sequels, because I don’t like having to pay small chunks of money to get a extra thing. I would just have all those ideas in a new product. So obviously we don’t know if they will even do a sequel or DLC, but making a decision could be annoying, they would have to see if the game is successful and they would have to check their audience. If they are focusing on casual they should make a sequel because not many casual kids I know aren’t really familiar with DLC yet. Hopefully they make a good decision and use whatever they choose to full extent.

4. Originality a problem?
I know what you are thinking about this one, but what if some people are just picky? I mean all this stuff you have to deal with like the artstyle, characters and
Intriguing jump mechanics. Who knows whose going to like what? Some people might not like the art, some people might not like the jump mechanics it goes on from there. I personally agree with everything, but am sure other people feel the same way. This was just a small one because it mostly speaks for itself.

5. Unoriginality on a original game?
Well now this is the confusing one. Notice how their is just Mario stages, sonic ones, MGS ones, GOW ones, the list goes on and on. Now where are the stages you made? Not the ones Miyamoto has made. I mean I love those stages as much as the next guy, but I think the point is they want everyone to make their own platformer. This is just a short and sweet one. I’m just saying, I just think that people should make their own courses of madness, I will be doing that.

Well their you go g1's just a quick little thing. Hope you all liked it!

What it's like to be the only gamer.

Hey g1's this is probably just going to be a quick one because I just need to vent. Now I go to a middle school in Virginia. We have are groups, the best thing is, all the popular kids and everyone in general, is nice to everyone else. So theirs rarely any bullies or fights. So you think that’s fine right? Wrong, you see the problem is am the only gamer there. Everyone is a Guitar Hero fanboy or a Halo *****. I know you’re probably thinking of Jose when I say that, but at least Jose plays other genres like pokemon. People I know only have a 360 with Halo 1, 2, and 3, NOTHING ELSE! Their are only 2 true gamers in this whole school. Of course I hang out with them any chance I get, but theirs another problem. Not only are their 3 gamers, their isn’t any retro gamers. My buds only play this gen and last gen. They have no idea what a SNES is. They have no idea what EarthBound, Chrono Trigger and Street Fighter even is. Now am not ragging on my friends, but it sucks how I can’t have a video game conversation with my friends without a "Halo 3 owns that" or a "What game is that?" comment. It also gets annoying how the only people I can truly talk about retro games with are a couple miles away. Now I do have retro gaming friends, but ones in a private school, and the others an 8th grader in the same school but I have only seen him once. Hopefully when I go to High School I will find other people who have actually played Street Fighter. Of course that will probably never happen. Well this was just my quick vent; does any of this happen to you guys? Well leave a comment and tell everyone else about. I bet am not the only one who’s in this scenario.

See you all later- rpgfighter

Mega Man 9 Review.

Sup g1's! Beat Mega Man 9 about an hour or so ago, so how about I write you all review? There might be some spoilers about the robot masters, so don’t read the review if you hate minor spoilers. No Dr.Wily spoilers though. Alright let’s get started with the Gameplay.

Gameplay: 10/10
If you are familiar with Mega Man then you know what the gameplay is like, fun, inventive and entertaining. With the simplicity of a NES game (which you should all already know) this is just a straight run, jump and shoot platformer. Like that’s a bad thing, there are barely any faults with the gameplay for a Mega Man game, yet like most platformers, if you’re not a true fan, you might find the gameplay stale after awhile.

Graphics: 8.5/10
I’m comparing the graphics to NES games, not PS3 games. The NES nostalgia feel of the game is great, and the graphics are pretty good for a NES game. The cutscenes are amazing, and the sprites look pretty polished and brighter then other NES Mega Mans, of course I could be wrong but I noticed it. Also the game is able to handle a lot of things moving around, even with legendary mode on it still doesn’t lag that much. GREAT JOB CAPCOM!

Level Design: 10/10
Out of all the Mega Mans, this has to have some of the best level design. Tornado man with the blue and red moving platforms is awesome, galaxy man is awesome with those purple things that put you to another purple thing XD. All the levels are just great! Although a lot of it is rehashed from other Mega Mans with a different color, which isn’t a bad thing because it is the 9th game in the series. Who could blame them? Either way it still is fun as anything!

Sound: 10/10
The sound effects are great! But who the hell cares about that? It’s Mega Man we want music! They did not disappoint. Pumping some of the greatest songs 8-Bit has to offer, you will be tapping you’re feet to greatness. Every song is catchy, my favorites being Tornado, Concrete and Jewel man stages. You cannot call yourself a Mega Man if you have not listen to all the songs all the way through. It’s just that amazing. The amazing music alone is reason enough to buy this! Arguably my favorite soundtrack of any mega man games.

Extra Content: 6.5/10
There isn’t much here. With some time attack and leader boards and some downloadable content coming later. That’s really it, nothing big; you are really just starting to the left and ending at the right either way.

Replay Value: 8/10
Its a good amount, I mean all old school games have replay value, with the difficulty it does not have the replay value of SMB, but you will still be playing for along time, I mean I have been playing Mega Man 2 for god knows how long, and I haven’t even ever got bored of it. You definitely play it a lot though don’t you worry.

Difficulty: Hard
This game is HAAAAAARRRD, timing, tedious, and cheap shots are the words you can describe the game with, with the exception of galaxy mans stage, every stage is pretty tough. Still galaxy man is pretty annoying. You definitely need patience for this king right here. Yet if you are cursing at the top of your lungs and your still smiling, capcom did there job. It would be the hardest NES Mega Man if it weren’t for one thing. You should know what I’m talking about which would be the shop. With it’s infinite amount of 1 ups and E Tanks. Making Mega Man 1 still the hardest of the bunch.

Worth The Money: Yes
For only 10 bucks this game is a steal, you get old school plat forming for an insanely well price. Like Craig said on Out of the Box the NES Mega Mans use to cost 60 bucks! This awesome one with extra features for only 10 bucks is amazing! GET IT NOOOOOOW!

Last Comments:
This is definitely a sign of good things in the future, with awesome remakes going on at the time; I can’t wait to see what will happen next for the old school fans!

Hope to see you around g1's! Hope you liked my review, rate and comment of course! See you all around.

Blog Day- My Best Moment of Gaming.

Sup g1's, BLOG DAY!

This might just be a quick one, it might not, I’m just working on it as I go along. So here we go.

Summer of 2002-
It was about 8 pm, me and bigger brother were playing Super Smash Brothers Melee, I was Ness he was Young Link, 5 player stock, at Battlefield, both 1 live left. I was on the top platform on the ground after a attack, he is about to finish it with young links a down (the one when he falls down holding his sword downward)I recovered just in time, and PSI thunder him. Sending young link impact in through that unknown atmosphere. I could not believe my eyes, right when I heard ness's victory music I stood up in triumph. After a year of getting loss after loss against my brother, it was finally my win, no items, no handicaps, just a straight up win. Finally the first game of ANYTHING I surpassed my big brother in. That was what gave me a glimmer of hope related to video games, my first true win. That day is what put the fighter in my name, I will never forget that day. So that right there, that one second of feeling, is my best moment of gaming. Thanks for reading g1's!

What Could Go Wrong With Mega Man 9?

Hello g1's rpgfighter here, with just a little blog of me describing of what could go wrong with Mega Man 9. Rather it be the game, the fans, or the marketing, I’m going to just talk about some points that could make or break this game. So here they are.

1. The Difficulty.

We all know The Mega Man series is famous for having extremely tough gameplay. That might be a problem. Us retro people all ready know what hell were getting into, but what about the newer gamers. I mean some people might find that game on Wiiware, PSN or XBLA, and they might have only played battle network. So they go "Oh cool a game based off of old mega man games, I guess I will try this out!" 30 minutes later there controller is broken and they cant even touch 1 robot master. They will be pissed and tell there friends not to buy. Those friends can tell there friends not to buy and it goes in a cycle. I doubt this will be a big issue, but you never know.

2. The Graphics.

Out of all the opinions about this game the opinions about the graphics are all over the place. Some people like me love the fact that its classic 8-bit. Some people wanted it to have the Mega Man 7 styled 16-bit graphics, and then some completely wanted it to be like the recent Bionic Commando remake and make have that 3-D feel. This might be a problem because of the lets just look at the one fact, ign.com did a review of the game and gave it a 8.6, while if you look at the statistics they gave the graphics a 3... See what I mean by problem? The professional reviewers might not give this score a true rating because they might not have preferred the graphics. Making some people might not want to buy it, and not making the game as popular as it should.

3. The Hype.

Of course we knew this one was going to happen. This can definitely mess up a game in the long run, some examples of hype would be, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Grand Theft Auto IV, and Halo 3, and maybe MGS4. But this is what has killed giants, we might be so psyched for this game claiming it will be amazing and insane! Then what if we play and it almost hits your standards but doesn’t, or it just isn’t good. Will you play as much? Of course not, that’s why I always try as hard as I can to break away from the hype and try to ignore the "This game will be the best in the series." comments.

4. The Running Out of Ideas Problem.
Its the 9th game, they might have some stale ideas. I mean they already ran out of ideas at 4. But it has been awhile so they might have thought of more ideas, but probably a good amount of that stuff will come from 1,2 and 3, now I’m with that. But some people might not like that idea, I bet they will have some fresh ideas, but could definitely harm the game, because its okay to have some ideas from older games, but I don’t want to play a Mega Man 2 with some different faces and color schemes.

And finally.....

5. What if the game just isn’t good?
There could be a good amount of problems, what if the level design is poor, what if the dr wily bosses suck? What if there is lame fun ruining cheats like the pause trick? Many things can go wrong through the gameplay that could just tear this game. It is as simple as that.

So there you go g1's just a quick little entry, I might do a full review of the game when it comes out. But just felt like what I had to think of what could happen.

Thanks for reading!

5 Reasons The Video Game Media has Fallen.

Ellos me fellow g1's! Today I will be talking about 5 reasons the video game media is not as good as it once was. Now this will just be my opinion of course. So post your opinions of what you have to say. They will not be placed in any order.

1. Hype

One of the reasons video games have been weakened is that all the hype of new games. Back then there really wasn’t that many commercials or internet to figure what games were coming out. You had to wait. So you had to buy to see if it was good, now with people seeing trailers and what not and interviews online, it causes hype. This cycle causes you to think the game will be amazing and utterly rape any other game that came before it. Then you purchase the game... you notice it isn’t as good as you wanted it to be, (or your just fogging your brain with fanboy disease so you ignore how mediocre the game is) There wasn’t any hype back then, so you didn’t think it would that good until you see at the store. Usually its not even that much of a bad game, its still good but you’re just so pissed that you just ignore the quality’s of the game. The disease of hype to me is a big virus. It makes to the internet and spreads.

2. Medias

I mean TV and internet mostly. First I will start with TV, how many people are watching TV and you think of games. Of course you all do, you cant wait for the hardcore titles to come out like a example for right now. Little Big Planet, Mega Man 9, and Street Fighter 4 to name a few, but do any of them have commercials? No, they give them to rockband... they don’t bother voicing out the good hardcore titles anymore... support those when they can get more sales. Because people are going to buy rockband 2 anyway, so why bother having a commercial of it?! Also the news on tv. They make look like video games are the crystal meth of childern. Oh no don’t talk about terrorists or education, cancer or obesity, talk about video games! Maybe if they did research and actually PLAYED the game they would know more. There are far more pressing matters in the world then some 13 year old buying GTA4. Alright now its the internets turn. I know you get good info online, I know its a helpful. But its a mix. It saves video games with websites like screwattack, starmen, ign, and hell even gametrailers. But it also helps burning its population with hype, spoilers and endless cults of fanboys. This is like some hot girl making out with you, then they stab you. This never happened in the old days because the media didn’t care about video games and didn’t use it as news. THANK GOD!

3. Outer Public

This is the moms, the dads, the old people, and the douches. The outer public is the ones who ***** at the media telling them to put pointless complaints on the air. The horrible uncontrolled moms and dads who say "No no no no no you are not buying manhunt." and then... YOU BUY IT FOR THEM ANYWAY!!! The old people are the ones who treat the wii as workout machines. I’m not flaming seniors. But when they call themselves gamers (I heard once and I almost shot my self) then the douches. YOU KNOW WHO IM TALKING ABOUT! Those preppy chicks at your school, those girls are STILL laughing at the wiis name! The ones who only play GH and RB. Then they hate everything else about games and call themselves gamers. God... what the hell is going on. Back in the old days there was just the few who loved games to death and they could talk about them without some mini skirt wearing chick rudely interrupting the conversation. Back when video games had a more quiet audience we were less of a target which is GREEEEAAT!!!

4. Complication

This is when people will probably start disagreeing with me. I personally love games that are easier and don’t take manuals and guides. Games that aren’t more about graphics then gameplay. I personally think this was a big part of making games lamer, because they sooner or later cared more about the box art then the actually game. I just wish we could go to simpler times. With no online play, or downloadable maps. Do I want to get rid of 3-D? Of course not, I just personally want games to be simpler back when they were loads of fun.

5. Fanboys

Wow, this is the key right hear. Back in 90s or so it was this. Do you want what nintendont or do you want to play with power. The red coats and the blue coats. No matter what team you were on the opposite team would still treat you with respect. Now its the 2000's and Nintendo is public enemy number 1, sony are the *****es and the 360's are the rich kids. Each treats the other side like a dick and I’m sick of it! I mean honestly there just games guys! Treat each other with respect. Listen to opinions, and don’t be annoying! I get bugged so much of which console I like the most, and I always say. "Everything." They still bug me every other day... I just hope that later in the lifespan we can just end this mess. I personally don’t care which console you like or dislike. As long as you don’t flame anyone else on another side, I don’t care. This is messing up games so much because there supposed to be about fun. So why do we need to be the cause of world war 3?

So there you go g1's my little blog. Post your opinions. Please rate, and if you liked the blog a digg would be nice.

What if.... Capcom Entered the Console Race?

How is it going g1's? Its 8:30 AM right now, with rpgracer playing Mega Man on the VC, but I felt like getting this sucker over with. But before I get to that, I like to thank you all for commenting! All those mixed opinions were great! So if you guys have any suggestions for later What ifs.... PM me, or if you have any constructive critisisim. I love to have any suggestions, or hell if just want to say whats up<img src="http://i.screwattack.com/portal_screwattack/default/smiley_bigsmile.gif" alt=":D" style="verical-align:-3px;padding-left:2px;" border="0" width="15" height="15" />

So here it is.

What if.... Capcom Entered the Console Race?

1. The Culture. Tv's, movies, and other media.
What a big buzz Gametrailers and Ign would have! This would be BIG! People would throw chairs with rage, people would be crying happy tears, and some people would be going WTF! Tv and movies probobly wont be caring about this... But the INTERNETZ sure would. Not to mention people all over the school would be talking.

2. The Industry. The Companys. Nintendo would be shocked and proud of there third party amigos. Sony and Microsoft would just be shocked. Capcom might be succsessful if they made a new system. Mega Man being there mascot. They would probobly do it after Street Fighter 4 is released. Butsto the late 80's. Could you imagin how SWEET that woul its probobly to late now, so how about we go back in time to the late 80's. HOW COOL would it be to have Mega Man VS Mario VS Sonic?! Nowadays we would care less... but that would have kick ass if that happend back in the day.

3. The Impact. The Future of it all.
If they did it back then in the 80's. They would be REALLY succsessful I think. That might have not been around nowadays. But what a great 90's that would have been. If they made a new system now, they would die, reaaallly quickly.... I doubt this would have changed the minds of Sony and Microsoft to make a console. Heck it would probobly encourage them more!

So this is the end g1's. Rate and comment your opinion of what would have happend, and post constructive critisisim. Remember if you guys want to PM me with suggestions, DO SO!

What If.... The SNES Never Existed.

Whats happening g1's! Its 10:58 pm over here with George Lopez on the tv, so I decided to pass the time with a blog entry. There might be more parts depending how popular this is. Well it is called What if.... And I will talk about something that dident happen in the timeline that could have changed alot. The topic is.....

What if.... The SNES never existed. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO lets get started!

Well usually people think about what would happen if the NES never existed. That ones pretty obvious though. So I wanted to do one that isnt as obvious, well we all know what a SNES is, the console that maximized the word "Game" but what would happen if this fine piece of machinery never existed? Well lets take a look.

1. The Culture. Tv's, movies and other media.
If the SNES never existed do you think we would have NEARLY as much videos game mentions in movies, tv's and the internet. Man I gurantee screwattack might not even have been around if it wasnt for the SNES. The other medias with video game references would be so rare, they would be in newspapers in front articles. Video game would have such a small fanbase that it would make the EarthBound fanbase shriek in horror.

2. The Industry. The companys.
The NES brought video games some where, but the SNES is what made it popular. There would be no playstation or xbox. Sure maybe Sega might have continued, but would it be the same? The industry would be poor, and run out of hardware and resources. And with such a small fanbase the companys would have been bankrupted.

3. The Impact. The Future of it all.
Well without the SNES, there would be nothing after that. Maybe sega could have survived it, but that would soon die down. So video games would have did VERY quickly without the SNES. The SNES is what made the industry spring out with color and noise. Without it, alot of things and medias would be blank. And imagination would have no outlet.

So there you go g1's, A little blog I made for the sake of boredom. If you like the blog leave a comment. And if you have any constructive critisisim please post or pm me. Im open to any advice. And say what you think would happen if the SNES never existed.

My Gamer Time Line Part One.

Im going to go through my whole life of my video game world the rise, the falls, and the amazments. I will start out with this.

Born 1-18-96 12 years old.

My First Observation
??? ??? 1996

I was just got a refill in my sippy cup, just was about to watch tv. Then here comes my brothers... walking RIGHT before me to go hook up are SNES. Poppin in Super Mario World. Right when I gazed at the screen I could tell something cool will happen. Watching them control the read guy on the screen gave me goosebumps. Watching hop and sqiush things made me so overjoyed. Hearing such amazing music coming out of the tv. Hearing the SMW theme was my favorite song since i was 4.

The thing that started my rpg craze.
4-15-96
I was playing toys with my mom, when i saw my 3 big brothers come out of the garage with a oversized SNES box. The weird color with a cool backround with a weird golden thing on it. They opened and this weird book caught my eye. Then the cartridge was popped in and the scary aliean picture of the UFOS destorying a city has creeped me out to this day. Then the giant words EARTH...BOUND came up on the screen. I was so exited. Watching them choose the name. Fight weird crazy crows and dogs with crazy backrounds. It was new to me cause that was the first time a i saw a game not going to the right to jump on a thing at the end and get a score. I was amazed by how different the game looked. This single handely put the rpg in my name.

The death of are SNES.
??? ??? 1997

They went to play it, it did not turn on. We saw fizzes, blank screens and tears. We tryed everything we even mailed it to the nintendo headquaters they said it was dead. After we threw the system away we kept the games in the attic after 9 games it all came to a end.

Are 9 games:
1.Super Mario World
2. EarthBound
3. NBA jam
4. UN sqaudron
5. mega man x
6. Chrono trigger
7. Secret of mana
8. F-ZERO
9. Donkey Kong Country

Next time in part 2:
The next gen the art of figting and the brick.
