Pure Demo - The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Well, if you own an Xbox 360 or a PS3, then you've probably downloaded and played the Pure demo. PC users, if you've pre-ordered the game, you got your demo disc.
Yeah, right now PC users have to commit to buying the game before they can try it!

If you're like me, you knew this game existed, but never paid it too much attention... Until now.

The Good;

I had this strange feeling come over me while playing the demo, something I hadn't felt in a while, oh I know, FUN! I had fun playing this demo!
The terrain looked amaizing, and it was really cool going off huge jumps to see what kind of tricks you pull off.
It's very arcade and while physics is a small part of the game, it doesn't control the game, you can do all kinds of things on an ATV that you cannot and SHOULD NOT do in real life.
The challange is great too. You don't just race. You have to do tricks off jumps to build up boost or allow you to do better tricks.
So while you're in a race against a grid, it's up to you if you are far enough ahead to pull off more and more tricks or instead of getting better tricks, use boost to catch up.
When you crash, it doesn't feel like it takes forever to recover like in Motorstorm.

The Bad;

I'm not really sure if they were trying to rip off Motorstorm just a bit, or just plant it in your head that YES, this is like Motorstorm.
First off they use the same sound airhorn to start the race, ok, maybe that's not ripping off Motorstorm, BUT the demo has the song WOMAN by WOLFMOTHER just like Motorstorm did!
The fact that you use your left analog (I used a PS3 controller) for turning AND you use it to pull off tricks sometimes backfires if you didn't jump high enough to pull off your trick. So you'll try to straighten out your wheels but the game thinks you're trying to pull off a trick, so you land with your wheels turned and crash.

The Ugly;

Honestly, the game looks great, it's candy for the eye just to look at it.
Xbox 360 owners, no question, if you like ATV racing, BUY IT.
NOW, PS3 owners, here is the ugly, well the ugly truth. Which do you buy? Pure or Motorstorm 2?
I was deadset on getting Motorstorm Pacific Rift until I played the Pure demo. Some of you are thinking, why not get both, cause a) I'm not made of money, and b) One would get played and the other would gather dust.
Perhaps I can decide in a few more days when I get my hands on the Motorstorm 2 demo.

Xbox and PC users BUY IT!
PS3 owners, buy it, or wait a bit for my look at the Motorstorm 2 demo and see what I decide.
