Hey g1s, it's time for the return of YOUR Daily Game Fix. Now if you didn't see it last time, the show has changed a little bit. When I talk about a game now, I do a bit of a mini-review over it. I also provide a numerical and alphabetical rating. So if a game gets an 9.0, that translates into a A-. I think the new style for the show is something that'll bring more traffic to the series, or so I hope. So with that said, lets get into today's game.

Today I'm going to talk about a game that I believe wasn't given a good enough chance by many gamers and reviewers. I'll explain more below. The game I'm talking about is Jackass the game for Sony's Playstation Portable.

Now to start things off, probably one of the best features of this game is you go in with low expectations. That way the somewhat decent experience can catch you by surprise. The game is compiled of over 50 mini-games and only one or two of them feel like the same game all over again. The game basically consist of stunts that they could have never pulled off in the show, and a few that probably could be done but wouldn't be as fun.
The graphics aren't good, but that really isn't an issue since we're talking about the PSP version of the game. From what I've seen, this version looks just as good as the PS2 version, so really it's the PS2 version that has bad graphics...NOT the PSP version. The characters look like their real-life counterparts, so they get the job done. Not to mention, the game is voiced entirely by the Jackass cast. All of your favorites are there except for Bam Margera, I really don't know why he doesn't appear in this game. Instead you get Jeff Tremaine and Dimitry Elyashkevich (director and director of photography), which is cool, I'm glad they're in there, but where is Bam? He isn't even my favorite jackass, but he still belongs. He invented the idea of the show jackass with his CKY videos. Ah well.
The music in the game does what it's supposed to do. They use some music from the show, and a few tracks exclusive to the game, that really give you the jackass feeling. You feel like you're playing a stunt that, if it wasn't so insane, could've appeared on the show. Not to mention the sound effects are good, and it's awesome to hear the actual jackass you're playing as grunt or swear when he gets hurt.
The gameplay is hard to explain since the game does mainly consist of mini-games, but a ton of them are very fun. A big plus is you can go online with the PSP version of the game and play against players from around the world. You can also record multiple gameplay footage and put them together to make your own jackass episode. If that isn't enough, you can even download episodes made by other people and watch what they've done. I never got the chance to test this out (because my Adhoc switch broke on my PSP), but apparently as time went by, more stunts were made and released via download. If you enjoyed this game, they already gave you a reason for replayability.
One of the things I liked most about this game was the ranking system. It reminded me of the old Tony Hawk games. There were 5 challenges you could complete in each level. If you completed 3, you got a bronze score. If you completed 4, you received a silver score. Or if you finished all 5, you got a gold score. It makes you want to play each game until you master it, because some of these challenges can be pretty damn hard.
Graphics: 6.5
Music: 7
Sound: 9
Gameplay: 7
Replay Value: 8
TOTAL: 7.5
FINAL GRADE: C
Now a C isn't really a bad grade. That means the game isn't a must play, but it is still a good game. It may have it's problems, and not appeal to everyone, but the game is mostly an enjoyable experience. I've heard the DS version is incredibly bad, but I haven't played it just yet. I'll say this...if you're looking for another game to play on your PSP, or on the run, I'd say pick this game up. It usually runs for $30 or less, so it isn't a big investment and provides a few hours of entertainment. Go for it, you may just like it.
Well that wraps up today's episode of DGF. I hope you enjoyed the read and make sure you comment, rate, or digg. I always love to see what you guys have got to say. Catch you guys next time...on YOUR Daily Game Fix.
