Dante's Blog Day: Game Destroyer

Most of us here could label ourselves with some degree of nerd, and when some random person comments on our hobby in a bad way or any other form of media gets into the brawl for no reason, we all can get a little perturbed (and other can get furious). But the people that can piss me off the most of are those that just join in the gaming world because of Madden, Halo, and Guitar Hero (Rock Band). It's not that those people are getting into gaming it's what they say once they start gaming. From everyone that has jumped in the fun the remarks that I usually hear are those that compare Guitar Hero to some game that has no relevance to it (MegaMan, Dead Rising) and they cannot try any other game because the only one they play is SOOO AWESOME.

I could sit here and label games that should have never been made, but I will only name some.

Halo 3 is a great game, but to many "gramers" it takes the throne for their God. The online is fun and playing around with your friends beating up 12 year olds is even better, but people take the game to serious which ruins it for me. I still play this game but again the community helps me stray away, and have the mute button clicked.

Crappy movie games, By purchasing licensed junk (and the shitty sequels to licensed junk) simply because you recognize the celebrity on the front of the box, you're pulling down the entire industry. Enter the Matrix sells millions while Okami sells thousands. Space Chimps and Van Helsing get multi-platform releases, while Psychonauts is denied a sequel. We all suffer because of your poorly informed taste.

Guitar Hero is one of my favorite games, but again it make the people that only pick up this game develop the biggest ego and it instill something in their mind to never play another game unless it has Slash plastered on the front of it.

I would destroy these games, but I would really enjoy to destroy the people (that I hate) that play them.
