It seems there has been a surge of fanboys claiming their system or developer is better than all others and attacking anyone who disagrees. This to me is bullshit as all three systems are good in their own respects and no developer is perfect so it's a matter of personal preference. First let's discuss the consoles.
Each of the three consoles has its pros and cons, meaning that you have enough of an idea as too which console is for you:
The Nintendo Wii has innovative controls and more original characters. It does, however, lack in the graphics department, as well a limited library of quality games, outside of Nintendo's first party hits like Zelda and Mario, there are only a few games worth looking into, such as No More Heroes and Zak and Wiki. it also suffers in the online department, while it's free, it requires Friend codes for every game and has no chat function. the only redeeming quality is it's Virtual console and Wiiware service, which has the best selection of old-school games and original content
The PlayStation 3 has the best graphics and is one of the Cheapest Blu-Ray player on the market right now. it's biggest flaw was it's lack of exclusives, with most good games being delayed to meet the high graphic quality. it was also bad that may functions were removed from the controller (why they didn't have rumble from the start is beyond me) and the six-axis function has very few games worth using it with.
The Xbox 360 is for the uber-hardcore gamer crowed. it features a large library of games and good graphics. it also has the dominant online community with X-box live. What it lacks is extra features and and the need to pay to take advantage of it's online features. unlike the PS3 or Wii, XBL is the only online service you have to pay monthly to use, on top of spending money for DLC.
Now with developers, there are many good developers out there, but there is no Dev that trumps all others. It's always cool when a certain developer releases a great game, but all devs have had bad days as well. If you prefer a certain dev, go right ahead. but understand that there is a least one game in every Dev's past they'd rather forget.
My Beef with Fanboys is that they think they their console/dev of choice is the ONLY one worth buying, and if you put two Fanboys of opposite ideals in a chatroom you can bet there will be flaming up the ass. I'm not saying you have to like everything, i just think that you should respect the opinions of others and mearly suggest they try your favs. we all have different likes/dislikes and fanboys serve no purpose except to piss off us respectable gamers. So if you are a Fanboy, for all that is good and holy, tell us your opinion, but don't flip out when someone disagrees with you.
I personally am not a
I personally am not a fanboy. I am however anti sony. A lot of the stuff they've done recently does not endear me to them.
I do like Nintendo as most of there first party stuff is good, but they can't seem to attract much 3rd party.
I'm a bit torn on microsoft. The business practices of this company royally piss me off. I've been using windows since 3.1, (when I was 4) and since then the only operating system I was at least OK with was XP. This isn't to say there console sucks. They actually managed to get it mostly right - except the damn red rings of doom.
At this current time, my stance on console makers is they all partly suck. They have a few good point, but nothing that would make me recommend any of these consoles to anyone. I'm not even sure if this comment makes sense now...
A new era in gaming...
What's been getting me lately is that people expect console and PC gaming to automatically equal hardcore gaming. Now, I'll admit to having little business sense, but as I see it, from a business standpoint, marketing to a select group might be fairly safe, but it also doesn't make as much money in the end. In order to make more money, you need to reach more people, and that means stepping back from the costly big games and spending less to make more fun and simple games.
Nintendo's been doing this for a while, ever since the DS came out, in fact. Microsoft's jumping on board wholeheartedly, and Sony's coming along slowly as well. The era of exclusives is dying because developers wants to reach as many gamers and potential gamers as possible.
I ain't saying there's no room for the big games and reliable franchises anymore...what I am saying is that the world and the videogame industry are changing.

So what you're saying is...
If I like PS3 and Wii, but prefer not to have a 360 then I am a Sony-tendo Fanboy?
I have some legitimate beefs with the 360, that aren't related to 'fanboy' isms...
-The controller is big and bulky, and the button layout is ass.
-I have gone thru 3 broken consoles in under 2 years, all for different issues. I have never had a defective console before, all the way backto my 2600! Fair enough, some will break but THREE IN A ROW?? Give me a break.
-Graphics are not up to par IMHO. People complain about the framerates on the PS3, at least the PS3 attempts to have some detail in the games.
-XBOX 360 has one great feature though, XBOX Live. That is awesome. But I can play online on my PC, so..
-It's a big of a wait, but once the game library gets going and prices drop a bit, I can see the PS3 to be the superior machine. Lack of games is it's only downfall, that and perhaps the lack of online features.
"The PlayStation 3 has the
"The PlayStation 3 has the best graphics"
Proof please.
a restatement
I mean The PS3 has the best graphics hardware, both the 360 and PS3 can produce 1080p, but it's well known the PS3 brags about having the best hardware of the three systems
MGS4

I'm not a fanboy, but I prefer sony and nintendo over microsoft. Microsoft is just evil.
I can't put my finger on it, but there's just something evil about it. I like all the new games, but microsoft is just evil.

Ugh.
Having a preference does not make you a fanboy. Having an opinion is fine. Also, some consoles just suck. Would you call me a fanboy if I said the Jaguar sucked?
I Define a Fanboy as those
I Define a Fanboy as those idiots that post on EVERY thread claiming that a particular item is the best, obviously people have their preferences and will like to voice their opinions, but i bet twenty bucks most of you have been on a forum where someone has bragged about something that was not even part of the topic. and you just wanted to tell them to STFU. we're all "fans" of something, but a "fanboy" is another story.
Sony
Sony are getting have some good exclusives what r u talking about
I disagree.
If someone decides to define "best system" then you can start deciding which system the "best" So long as you have a bunch of people working with their own views of "best" you won't come up with something. The 'fanboys' you mention don't get along because they want different things out of a system (Even if what they want is just a different name on it like Sony or Xbox).
If you work from the same definition, it shouldn't be too hard to figure out which system is better. However conglomerating that into one grand decision won't be of any real value. So don't do that!
Such wise words...
Now if only you could take this rant over to Gamefaqs.
All I have to say is this,
All I have to say is this, it is not about the machine, but the games that is on it. I would still play a nintendo or an atari 2600 if they still worked. Heck, I would buy the original Xbox if I had the cash, despite I hate the company that makes them. So far with me, the 360 has no appeal to me, because it is usually war games or 3d shooters, and I am not a big fan of them. I will try anything once though.
