Your Vote Gets Tattooed on ME!!

Ever since I graduated high school a year ago, I wanted to get something as a passing of rite. Why not a tattoo? Well, seeing as I'm a gamer, a g1 and a game designer studying for my Bachelor's Degree in Game Art & Design (2 years left!) why not get something that shows my side as a gamer. Problem is I can't decide what to get!

Well, that's where you come in g1s! Why not ask the very people that are my closest (gaming) family? Obviously my tattoo must be game related. To help give you some ideas, I've added lists of my favorite games below to help you brainstorm for ideas.

I'm a retro gamer, so if you don't dig old school you probably won't be able to come up with a cool tattoo idea.

I wanted to get something that could easily be covered up so here's the rules:

- Cannot be bigger than the size of a drink coaster.
- Must be on one of my shoulders to be covered up.
- Must not be offensive (nudity, language, gore, etc.)

I want something that can be covered for work purposes so as to not offend future employers not that it would be that big of a deal in the video game industry, but I want to remain professional. I also want something that I won't be ashamed of so I don't want a tattoo of Tommy Vercetti beating a hooker with a golfclub or Leisure Suit Larry getting head or... Bubsy.

I look forward to hearing your ideas! Feel free to send me links to pictures you have in mind!

My other shoulder will have a tattoo that means a lot to me: the AIR flag. AIR stands for "Art Is Resistance". The flag has meaning to me for a few reasons:

- I am an artist.
- I am a STRONG advocate of free speech. I absolutely DO NOT believe in censorship.
- Nine Inch Nails is my favorite band.
- I'm a game designer, so art is my career and passion.

To be honest I think you

To be honest I think you have to decide completely for yourself, a tattoo is something you'll have with you for probably the rest of your life, so it has to be something YOU want, not something people vote on.

But if it were me I probably wouldn't do anything specific to one game, seeing as there are so many favorites and classics. I'd probably get something that stands as a symbol for gaming, like a controller for example.

A controller is a good idea.

A controller is a good idea. These votes are really suggestions. Besides, I ultimately decide what goes on my body. Just because you all band together and decide I need a picture of Blanka's green testicles on my shoulder doesn't mean I'll sign up for that.

Depends

Depends on what your favorite company/franchise is. If you like Nintendo, I suggest a Smash Bros. tattoo.
If you like Sega, I suggest a Sonic and Knuckles tattoo.
If you like Sony, I suggest a Metal Gear Solid tattoo, say, of Solid Snake?

Do the Screwattck logo!

Do the Screwattck logo!

do post a photo when it's there!

personally, i always thought the Sonic & Knuckles logo was pretty neat, considering that it's "just" a video game logo.

I see you like Diablo.

I suggest Diablo facing forwards with Baal and Mephisto looking to either side behind him.

Contra (The picture you get when you beat a level) and Comix Zone have potential for cool tattoos also.

Also, it would be cool to have Captain Falcon Standing right in front of the Blue Falcon.

However, your best bet is probably a medley. You put a bunch of characters and things from a bunch of different awesome games.

My vote is that you don't

My vote is that you don't get a tattoo. It's permanent and if you're conflicted now than you may regret it later. Plus take a look at 40 to 70 year old sailer's arm, tattoos look like crap when you get old.

I'm an old school gamer, but I'm still hip. Wait, when referring to oneself as, "Hip", does it reverse its meaning?

Dude...

Zombie from Zombie Ate My Neighbors...that'd be rad. I want a gamer tattoo also, but I am undecided...only real game series that I LOVE is going down the drain and that's Resident Evil. Best tat would be a S.T.A.R.S. or Umbrella logo, but meh not too fond of that idea. I'm thinking of getting the FoxHound logo on my arm, the one with the cartoony Fox and the bullet flying around him. Yeah.
