SNES memory lane #3-Super Tennis

I have great memories of Super Tennis. It was more then likely one of the first sports titles I ever played and it's addictive powers grabbed me right away.

The title screen...yup, I believe this will be a short review sadly.

You have three different modes to choose from. Singles (1 on 1), Doubles (2 on 2), and circuit (the tennis way of saying "tournament mode." You also have your choice of 20 players though you won't get any real tennis greats or any real tennis players as a matter of fact. You also get your choice of 1,3, or 5 sets and three different courts: Hard, the old fashioned lawn court and clay. Here's an illustrated guide of what I just said:

Now despite their generic appearances, the players actually have strengths and weaknesses. Some will play better at the net while others may be better servers. The courts also act like their real life counterparts in affecting the ball.

Overall, Super Tennis is a great pick up and play title that's even more fun with two players. If you spot this on Ebay or at a garage sale for under $2, pick it up!
