A ScrewAttack Success Story

I love ScrewAttack. This site is the only reason that I have a Gametrailers account: so I can download your awesome videos.

I'm not a ScrewAttack n00b either. I'm a hardcore g1. I've been here since the birth of the site. No, I haven't posted in the forums (for fear of forum trolls just waiting to flame), but I did watch all the commentaries that Craig and Tom did together on crappy video game movies like Double Dragon and The Wizard. Obviously I'm also a fan of the AVGN. I've had 3 fan art submissions posted in the AVGN fan art gallery on Cinnemassacre.com, the Nerd's real site. I've even bought the AVGN DVD and I've downloaded all of his GT videos as well as all of ScrewAttack's VGVs and Top 10s. The bottom line is: I LOVE SCREWATTACK!

So where am I going with all of this? Well, not only do I owe ScrewAttack and all of its moderators, administrators, creators and interns my undying allegiance...I owe them my career. That's right. My career.

If ScrewAttack hadn't continually pumped out old school greatness (I'm a die-hard retro gamer) I wouldn't have visited the site to watch yet another awesome video. That video, like all videos, had an ad at the end. This one offered a chance "to start your gaming career at Westwood College" in Colorado. I clicked on it and gave them my email for some info about the campus and the programs it offered.

I realized that the college was hard to get into because you had to personally impress the dean of the college. Many people want to be game designers so they really restrict the applicants. Well, not only did I impress the dean, but I got into the college for free!

I'm writing this today because I just completed my first 9 weeks and passed all my classes as a student earning my Bachelor's Degree in Game Art & Design. I'd like to take the time to thank all of the ScrewAttack family, old and new, for what they've done for us g1s: kept us informed and entertained in the world of video games.

Thanks to Craig, Jose, Ben, Nick, Corey, Destin, all of the actors on ScrewAttack's shows, all of the guys and gals behind the scenes (I know what that's like; I worked at a TV station and a website) and thanks to the g1s for staying loyal and showing ScrewAttack how awesome it is. Without g1s, ScrewAttack would cease to exist.
