My Rock Band wishlist

So, this is my first blog entry on the site... I usually blog a lot on my personal blog, only that it's not about videogames and it's written in spanish; I live in Santiago, Chile (South America), so pardon my english :)

I own a Wii (although my parents use it a lot more than I do) and a PS3, and we play a lot together. Being a gamer born in a family of musicians, it was a matter of time before my mom bought Rock Band 2 for the PS3, and it's been by far, the game that we as a family played the most (followed closely by Singstar). On a side note, we bought GH:World Tour and we hated it... so, Rock Band fanboys we are.

In our house we have a huge vinyl and CD collection, and music has been a very important thing in our lives... so we often find ourselves saying "Oh man, THIS song/group should be in Rock Band! I can't believe it's not there already!". Btw, my parents are HUGE Beatles fans, so, we're all very excited for Beatles Rock Band :)

Ok, without further ado, here is our Rock Band Wishlist:

1.- Sumo Track Pack 1
- Banderitas y Globos
- Estallando desde el Océano
- White Trash

You might be thinking "Are you kidding me?? Songs is spanish???". Actually, all this songs are sung in english, and they're absolutely great!! Check them out if you have no idea what "Sumo" (argentinian band) is.

2.- AC/DC studio albums
- Back in Black
- Ballbreaker

This are my 2 favorite AC/DC albums, I listen to them all the time. We already own the AC/DC Live Track Pack, and we've played it many many times, still, studio versions and newer songs are a must! Anyways, any complete studio album would be fine (even Fly on the Wall).

3.- Asia Track Pack 1
- Heat of the Moment
- Sole Survivor
- Only Time will Tell
- Here comes the Feeling

ASIA albums are great (starting with the cover artwork that is fantastic). Many of my friends think of "40 Year Old Virgin" when they hear Heat of the Moment (great movie moment btw) and make fun of me, but are blown away everytime I pop in the Greatest Hits album in my car :)

4.- Bal-Sagoth Track Pack 1
- The Dark Liege Of Chaos Is Unleashed At The Ensorcelled Shrine Of A'Zura-Kai
- The Voyagers Beneath The Mare Imbrium
- The Empyreal Lexicon

So, maybe these are songs that my mother wouldn't sing along (still, she does a great job hanging on Painkiller). These tracks are absolutely fantastic, it's a shame that this band sucks big time on live stages, if you like the more heavy stuff (and fantasy themes and such), you'll definetly like Bal-Sagoth.

5.- The Cure Track Pack 1
- Boys Don't Cry
- Jumping Someone Else's Train
- Just Say Yes
- Friday I'm in Love

So, you might be thinking "What??? Bal-Sagoth and then emo Cure??? WTH?!". Still, The Cure is one of my favorite bands (long before they were asociated with emo-stuff); these songs are my favorite ones, but any Cure song would be great.

6.- David Bowie Track Pack 2
- China Girl
- Sound And Vision
- The Man Who Sold The World
- Space Oddity

Yes, we've already have David Bowie tracks on Rock Band, but IMHO, they don't do any justice to this great artist.

7.- Deep Purple Track Pack 1
- Smoke on the Water
- Child in Time
- Burn

Sure, Highway Star and Space Truckin' are masterpieces, but everytime my friends come over, they complain "What?? No Smoke in the Water!?!?". We need more Deep Purple!!

8.- Faith No More Track Pack 1
- Digging The Grave
- I Started A Joke
- Falling To Pieces
- From Out Of Nowhere

Yes, Epic and We Care a Lot, definetly, are not enough :)

9.- Fear Factory
- Replica
- H-K (Hunter-Killer)
- Cars

Loved this group, specially when "Demanufacture" came out, what a great disc! Yes, I know Cars is a cover, but fits Rock Band perfectly!! After Obsolete, Fear Factory kinda went downhill for me... yes, could've make a pun there xD

10.- Helloween Track Pack 1
- I Want Out
- Dr. Stein
- Power
- Mr. Torture

... just to name a few (yes, March of Time, Rise and Fall... hell, the whole Keeper of the Seven Keys album could be in there).

So, I think this list has gone long enough... there are plenty of other groups that I'll add later this week :).

Ps. If you by any chance work at Harmonix... MAKE THIS HAPPEN T______T

im agree with sumo and with asia

Click here to level up my card!

im argentinian and i would love to see some sumo songs in a rockband game , the same goes with asia but i would also like to see more songs from the dead kennedys.

Needs more punk.

Totally agree with you on The Cure, though I would go with other songs like In Between Days and Why Can't I Be You.

I've always thought that Rock Band could use more punk songs, since they are some of the most fun to play. They've already got classic punk with The Clash and the Ramones, but they should probably add some more recent stuff like Dropkick Murphys or Rancid (which would be sick on bass).
