Ah Tetris Attack! You are indeed one of my favorite puzzle games of all time! You are also responsible for one of the first contests I won (A hat won on a scratcher given out by Blocbuster)...if only I could find it.

Note: I appologize for the terrible quality of the pics. My digital camera is old and I can't save up for a new one at this time.
Tetris Attack was released in 1996 (right around the middle of the year if I recall correctly in the US.) A redone port of the Japanese title "Panel de Pon", this version featured characters and music from Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, a hit the year before.

The main menu of the game. 1 player game, 2P game, two tutorials, and the options menu.
There are 5 different ways to play Tetris Attack:

*Endless Mode:

The basic mode of the game. Match the same color blocks, making at least three of a kind or more to get rid of them. You can do this either vertically or horizontally. Let the blocks get all the way up near the screen and it's game over for you.
* Time Trial:

You have 2 minutes to clear as many blocks as possible in order to rack up a high score. 10 points for every block cleared, 1 for every level you move up by yourself.
*Stage Clear

Get all the blocks bellow the clear line to advance to the next level. Every now and then you'll get a special level with Bowser where the block speed is insanely high.
*Puzzle

Solve the Tetris Attack based puzzle using a certain number of moves (the "count" meter) to remove all the blocks.
*Vs.

This is Tetris Attack's story mode. There's trouble on Yoshi's Island as usual and he must battle enemies in man to man puzzle combat!

Like in endless, the one who lets their blocks go to the top loses.
In addition, two player mode has a VS. and Time Attack mode. Is basically the same as the 1P option so no additional pics are necessary.
In conclusion, Tetris Attack is one of the greatest puzzle games of all time and in my opinion, there's no other puzzle games close to it.
Rating: 8.5 out of 10.
