If the host wasn't annoying as hell and the contestants weren't moronic enough to take the long path to the end of Mikey's levels instead of taking the quickest path to the finish (which is why most of the games never finished in most of the episodes), maybe I would've tolerated it more.

I use to watch this show every Saturday morning along with Double Dare. Although thinking about it now it seems really lame, I used to dream as a kid of being on that show. That game I'd say actually made me like video games more in some strange way. So in the reality of it all, without that show I wouldn't be such a gaming fan, and therefore would've probably not have stumbled upon Screwattack. Therefore, thank you Nick Arcade :)
Yeah seems like a real far reach to get kids to watch this show, mexico aired something similar but far less high tech, you played a real life version of Super Mario Levels it was horrible.

I actually liked the hosting, he was upbeat and energetic, as well as the ability to go off the cuff, and improv.
The only thing I didn't like was the contestants, most of them seemed like robotic kids, that couldn't play a video game to save their life. Also, I only ever saw ONE episode where they got that Mikey guy to the end of the map. I WAS AMAZED. Usually the round ends with in too little time.
The video challenges were pretty cool though, sometimes they had AWESOME games, like Actrasier. And other times it was eh, like Monsters in my Pocket. I wish there would have been more video game related questions, but you have to remember this gameshow was in a time where gaming wasn't mainstream. You were shunned for being a gamer, and called a nerd, now anyone who picks up a copy of Halo is a hardcore gamer.
My, how things have changed. Either way, I still love to watch reruns of this show, mostly for the nostalgic factor, but also because I want to see what games they have on there.

I think this suffers from "The Wizard" effect, as described by the AVGN.
"Who the hell are you? What the hell is that stupid guy in green? Oh! Is that Sonic? ActRaiser? Let me see! stay on those games already!"
I think Starcade, which was put on endless re-runs on G4 in its earlier days, was a better attempt at this type of show as it focused on the arcade games instead of their own work.
I actually disagree. I used to love this show when it was still on, then I watched it again recently and still kind of enjoyed it. I enjoy it for a different reason now but seriously I would much rather watch a Nick Arcade marathon then more the 5 minutes of something like The Real World.

I actually think it'd be a neat idea to bring a show of this caliber back. You could have more video game related questions, as well as actual arcade games. Like Blitz, or Street Fighter, Marvel Vs, Metal Slug and so on, however that whole Wizard thing at the end would need to change to something more entertaining.
I agree though, I hated and STILL hate The Real World. Buncha crap that is.

There was too much gameshow and not enough video games. Pretty lame, indeed!

Also I have to mention as a kid, when the contestants would go in video land or whatever, I was always like "WTF they don't know what they are doing."
It's not until I realized later they were just using a greenscreen and the players had to look off a monitor.
I REALLY THOUGHT THEY WENT INSIDE A VIDEO GAME AND AS A CHILD THAT WAS AWESOME.
but alas, as you get older you get more used to being disappointed by everything..
Like when you tried to enter a sewer in hopes of finding and meeting the Ninja Turtles..
Well...

I thought it was cool back then, but now?
Not so much,
Overall: Less Qs, more games, different host, and it would have been better.
Jawsome
