09 looks promising for the Wii

From seeing all the footage from the Nintendo Fall Conference and watching all of the TGS coverage, 2009 is looking to be a very promising year for Nintendo's Wii.

Several Promising Wii titles were show cased at these events such as:

Muramasa: The Demon Blade
Sin & Punishment 2
Tales of Symphonia Dwan of the New World
Sonic Unleashed (Wii Version, being developed by DIMPS)
Klonoa Door to Phantomile (remake of the PS1 classic)
Tatsunoko vs Capcom
Dead Rising Chop til' You Drop
Let's Tap
Monster Hunter 3
Fragile
Arc Rise Fantasia
Rygar: Battle of Argus
World of Goo
Castlevania Judgement
[EDIT]- Punch Out Wii

Popular titles like The Conduit and MadWorld didn't make an appearance at TGS, however, they were made up for with the EPIC announcement that Suda51 is developing NO MORE HEROES 2: Desperate Struggle...............FUCK YEAH! The only down side to that piece of news is that it isn't coming out until 2010!!!

Getting back at the Nintendo Fall Conference, Nintendo claimed that there is going to be a storage solution for Wii Owners like me who have 30+ VC and Wiiware titles starting next spring. Their going to make it so that the Wii can read VC and Wiiware titles straight from a SD memory card.

Another huge announcement at the Fall Conference was the re-release of certain gamecube games on the Wii with Wii controls. Games that Nintendo plan to re-release on the Wii include:

Metroid Prime
Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
Pikmin
Pikmin 2
Donkey Kong Jungle Beat

this is great news for everyone who missed those great games the first time.

I truely think that the Wii will come out on top in 2009, even though it isn't recieving popular titles like:

Fallout 3
Left 4 Dead
Mirror's Edge
Resident Evil 5
Bayonetta

Ya 2009 is gonna be a big break for the wii.I know that the wii is great but MOSTLY due to first parties.

2009 will be the Wii's worst year yet. I'm a Nintendo fanboy and I even know this. The Wii's screwed for '09. The only game for my Wii I'm going to get in the next 15 months is Sonic Unleashed. That's it. MAYBE the Conduit.

I'm pretty sure Sonic Unleashed and ToS: Dawn of the New World come out THIS November, so they aren't really 09 games for the Wii. As for World of Goo, it's already out. =|

I'm not all too happy about the whole re-released games for the Wii either. I already played those games, what makes them think I want to play them again but with better graphics and WII-SENSOR CONTROLS WOOOOooOOOOoOooooOOOO!!! (I'm imitating a ghost incase you were wondering. <.<) I'd much rather play a NEW Pikmin and a NEW Metroid rather than a polished old games with a new toy.

If what i've said so far has made you think I don't like the Wii's line-up, well, it's not that I hate it, it's just that I think they could have done much better. I'm going to wait for Wii Zelda. ^^

Oh and you left out Sonic and the Black Knight.
Some may say it's bad but don't judge on Shadow the Hedgehog just because he had a gun, judge it on the game. If you've seen the trailers than you know it looks awesome.

Sonic and the Black Knight

I think Sonic in the Black Knight is probably going to turn out bad. I'm one of the biggest Sonic Fanboys one Screwattack and Gametrailers, and when I saw the trailer for it I nearly barfed in disgust. The Graphics look great for a Wii game and it certainly has a sense of speed unlike Sonic fail............i mean Sonic 360/PS3, but the consept is just riddiculous and the last time SEGA did something like this they ended up with 2 horrible games, Sonic Riders, and Shadow the Hedgehog.

Whats wrong with the line-up? lack of Nintendo games? I personally think its great for the 3rd Parties to rise on a Nintendo console again, something that hasn't been seen since the N64

Sonic Unleashed and TOS dawn of the New World are coming out in November, so I just counted them as 09 releases. As for World of Goo, not enough people know about the game, and the number of downloads for it will probably go up in 09.

And don't worry about a new Pikmin, because we already know Pikmin 3 is in the works, but Metroid........I honestly don't know, but I hope it's a new 2D Metroid. It takes YEARS of development time to make AAA titles, Nintendo just released Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Mario Kart Wii this year, as well as Mario galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, and Twilight Princess in the previous 2 years.
