Hey, I'm Alison, you may know me from my comic persona Alison Prime. A fun Quirky little comic I do for fun. A reviewer I really respect, Yahtzee Croshaw stated almost all Web comic artists are in it for the money. You know, with my comic, Money, Donations and such never crossed my mind, I was just bored, and wanted to make people laugh.
Anyway, lets get to know me already! If you haven't seen it, this is my picture.
That is little ol me, your gaming girl supreme, Alison Prime. Now I get asked often, why don't I do videos. Well, I believe that the written word makes a bigger statement than the visual one. So I pride myself as a writer. Now my english skills might not be up to par with the rest of the world, but I like to believe I can still make a good statement or two without having to bring myself in front of a camera.
I Currently live with my lover, Kara, whom in my comic I've based 3 characters off of. The Daughter I named after her. Sam Julia's body was designed off her (you will see why), And Callie's attitude will be based of my Kara's hate of idiots.
That is my Kara, the love of my life, the woman I have spent the last 4 years with.
I like to pride myself as an All Around gamer girl. I play Wii, PS3, 360, Xbox, PSP, DS, and I even still play my Dreamcast. People classify me as "hard core" but that's a term i'd like to see dissapear. We're all gamers, it depends on what we like. No one deserves ridicule for them picking the losing console, no one deserves hateful things said about them because they support sony or microsoft, or nintendo. Gaming is about having fun, and when you remove that aspect for other people, your just a dumbass who loses favor in my eyes.
I Work as a Gamestop employee, and I'm soon going to be promoted to an assistant manager position in the new store infront of the wal-mart that just opened up. I'm so excited. The Managers seem to give me alot of hours over the other guys because I actually know what I'm talking about (personally, i think it's cause im cute, im not going to be a vain person here, but not one person i know has called me ugly as sin).
Anyway, to wrap up this self interview. I love screwattack, which is why often I feature them in my comics, like for example these four.

Do you really have two different colored eyes? Or is that a comic thing. Either way, it looks cool.
Anyway, FINALLY! Someone who agrees with me... at last in part. At one point, you said "We're all gamers..." etc. I totally agree. I have told many a person "Doesn't matter if you're so-called casual, so-called hardcore, a gamer-girl, or a gamer-guy. We are gamers. Stop making us different groups."
The rule I tend to go by is simple (which is a rule I have been trying to get others to go with). When I play, I am the character. When I play DMC4, I am Nero (or Dante), a guy. Conversly, in SSBB, I am whatever character I chose... even if that character is female. My friends refer to me by that characters name until the end of the match. I do the same to them. For the time we play, we are the character, regardless of gender. That is a how a gamer plays.
Aplogies for the rantiness of this comment, and I also apologize for any perceived rudeness, as it was not my intent, but I haven't slept in 2 days, and am a bit sleep-deprived-induced-stupid right now.

Fanboys need to lighten up. Infact, Im a Sony fangirl at heart, I love them to death, but 75% of my next gen game, i own on my Xbox 360, because of achievements, and the exclusives, if PS3 upped their Trophy system, yeah, then i'd buy more on ps3, but as it stands, i own more for 360.
But do you see me pushing sony on people? no, I let you game for yourself. I love to talk about games, but the fact of the matter is there is always going to be fanboyism in the world. When HDdvd and Bluray came out, people said HDDVD was better etc, bluray won.
Oh, and people are asking for a Blu-ray player on 360, I feel I should end the debate. Blu-ray was spearheaded by Sony, and they hold most of the copyrights on it, Hence if microsoft wants blu-ray on their system, they have to pay sony, do you really think the competition is going to pay them? i think not.

About that hardcore thing . . .
Personally I think the terms should be used only when describing games but not the gamers. Like in a review, they might say if it's saying whether you can just pick up and play for 5 mins compared to a couple of hours.

Its always bugged me that ever since I found a group I can fit in. I.E. gamers. That the fist thing they do is split the fan base into pieces. Like you said, you got your “hardcore”, “casual” “gramers” and so on. Honestly it ticks me off to no end.

These terms need to disappear. In fact the only term we still need is Gamer. It just depends on what you are. Casual can still exist, because if you only play a game once in awhile, your casually doing it, but hardcore, freak, etc, they need to vanish. We're all gamers, it's just what we do.

It isn't. You see, while most people associate Wal-Mart for all your shopping needs, most people don't associate them for games. Seriously, when you want to buy a game nowadays, the first store that pops in your head is either EB games, Funcoland, or Gamestop, (I know they're the same store, hush!) not wal-mart, plus the store im currently at is losing business because wal-mart moved there, but I'm happy because I get to be an assistant manager =D Look out Jared, I'm Climbing the ladder!

Just because
my lover and I happen to have ample busts, doesn't mean that's what we're all about. We love to play games and watch movies.
It's also part of the reason I don't appear on camera and I chose the written word above the visual one. I don't want people just watching my videos for my breasts or that I got a cute face. I want my message to mean something, and that's why I decided to be a writer above an actor.
Thank you for the feedback as well, we hope you enjoy more of these, because despite negative feedback from some trolls, we refuse to stop. I just like to do them, and I do them for fun, not for fame, not for money, but just to have fun and see some of the madness within my noggin come to life =D

I saw that everyone was posting "get to know a g1" posts about themselves, so I decided to do one as well. I really don't care about top posts, but at the time I wrote the top post comic I did it was due to the fact someone got top billing for a...less than satisfactory post.
I thought I did let you guys get to know me a bit. I don't believe I made a single reference to breasts and such in this blog posting. The Hard News comic...god, if you actually watched Hard News you know Destin's fascination with the female bust.
I like to believe that this community is not full of raving dick holes who get a jolly by bashing someone who seems to have a little talent. I'm not saying I'm gods gift to comic writers, but I like to believe I can tell a nice joke or two to get a laugh out of someone. Not all my comics are going to be hits and I know this.
I appreciate feedback when the argument is valid and has merit, but I did this post for fun, to let people know a little bit about me, and it was in no way begging for a top posting. I just did it to do it.

I didn't plan to comment but only 1 guy the other day posted a get to know me blog. Usually DanteElDiablo is the one who interviews g1s and as I recall, you asked about an interview 1 or 2 weeks ago when he was going through some bad times (not that you knew about it).
I have no problems with people posting atuff about themselves as its your blog to do with as you wish but I think it would have been more fun if you had been interviewed =D

She showed one picture of herself, and one picture of her girlfriend. That doesn't make her a whore. Idiots.
She got a Top Post, because it was a decent idea, the comics were great, and because she did something especially for ScrewAttack (the Jose, AVGN and Destin comics). Did you? NO. So shut it, douchebags.
Good post Alison, those comics were pretty funny (I especially liked the Destin ones), and it was crazy to hear that a girl has all of the current consoles, and a DreamCast! I don't even know any guys that have that many!
Also, what you think about your boss is probably right. I mean, if I was a GameStop manager and you worked at my store, I'd give you a promotion just for attracting customers to our store.... *sneaky eyes*

Good work Alison, you're being top posted has been long overdue. I'd like to see your comic get top posted more often and hopefully this will start a trend.
About those who say this post doesn't deserve accolades, I just want to say the following. There is room on the top post box for everybody and it's not fair to make assumptions about fellow g1s. Alison is one of the talented g1s that puts real effort into her work and so does Matt her artist.

I'm an old school gamer, but I'm still hip. Wait, when referring to oneself as, "Hip", does it reverse its meaning?
Matt Lee deserves a lot more credit.
A lot of the top blogs are not usually made with the effort that projects like this comic take and I agree that more people should be seen.
I have stated my opinions about the writing or other parts of the comics in the past and Matt seems really dedicated to fixing some of the problems which is awesome.
I personally would like to see you start referring to the comics "mine and Matts" rather than "my". It really is a collaboration and despite your earlier claims of having difficulty with writing which is why your earlier comics had so many problems, you sure managed to make a blog about yourself which has 100x the dialogue much more perfectly. It is an insult to Matt if you do not work on the comics as hard as he does.
Spend the effort you did on this blog on your future comics and start giving more props to Matt Lee (there is no my in a two person team) and i'd definitely be more supportive of your efforts.
Sorry if this came out wrong but they are my honest opinions on you and your work. I hope too see at least the Matt bit addressed in the future.

I only just now realized I got a top posting, infact, when I logged on last night, I saw i got 1284 points instead of my usual 1134, I didnt even realize I had a top post.
Really, I didn't do this for a top posting, hence why I wasnt really shocked when I didn't see my name there, but now that I know I did, do I feel any different?

It doesnt change the fact i did this for fun, and it makes me happy a little knowing i got tons of positive feedback. Im just saying, people shouldn't be afraid to post things they like just because half the community will hate them for it. Its why I never stopped posting my comics because of a ton of negative feedback and no top posting on the less funny ones. I just took it as a challenge to do better and make them funnier.

Kazekawa, I do thank Matt, every single day. He just told me flat out, he does my comic for me because it lets him break away from all the commissions he gets on Deviant art, he accepted my request to be my artist because everyone else had him drawing what he didn't really like doing and he wanted to be funny. I gave him that oppertunity and every single day since then, i've said nothing but thank you and how much I appreciate him. He even flat out told me he doesn't want points. I once tried talking him into the posting bit for awhile, but he told me he wants me to have them. So kaze, I don't know how to be more appreciative and loving of Matt being my artist than doing stuff that is of a less than PG-13 nature. I know i sounded mean, but even though I try to portray i have a tolerance, the fact someone insinuates I Don't appreciate things people do for me, just gets me off my rocker.
Everyone, I love the feedback, and even negative feedback is appreciated if you tell me how I can improve, I will be dishing you all another comic tommarow, and a Review as well. Stay tuned! =D

From what I have read including my first day on ScrewAttack, just about anything will get you off your rocker madam.
I believe you failed to understand my point, let me try again.
1. Where as we know you want top post now and then (regardless of the times you say you don't which changes from day to day), we are capable of reading that you say you do not do it for the fame or point. Splendid and that is fine. This doesn't mean you cannot put more effort into writing properly in your comics as you demonstrated you were capable of doing in this blog. Some of the complaints about your comic are valid and others I have seen in your defense are not.
2. I did not insinuate you did not appreciare Matt. I did however say that you use the word "my" to often and there have been multiple times that Matt is not even mentioned. Actually, thanks to me poking you about this issue, you just gave the biggest and best possible shout out Matt has likely received publically thus far. Well overdue.
3. I know why Matt does the comics as he and I have shared private conversations or public debates. Like I said above, even though he says he doesn't care about the points or being mentioned, I still consider it to be flat out rude to use the word "my" when it's clearly a team effort. I see no reason why that cannot be addressed.
You asked how you can improve and I feel I have done so as well as others on multiple occasions. You can take what I said in any way you would like and hopefully something from all of this improves things.

nice blog Alison. I don't see why you can't interview yourself in this sense, especially if you're an active member of the community and you just want to get people to know you. I mean, for those who complain, would it be any different if you just stated stuff without the interview look? It's a nice touch.

I've never seen a perfect post on the entire website, nobody here is professional.
We all do it for a love of games, Screwattack, and above all else because we have a passion for it and it makes us happy.

I'm just kidding ;) I think that Hard News kind of debunks the idea of Screwattack being a porn site. Think about it; Destin has mentioned he wants some bawls in his mouth and the site did a Top 10 breasts in gaming, and in Jose's Puntos, he tells you how to score in Dead or Alive. Just noticing.
