Nametags, Life in a Game- I got some complaints

Let me start with Nametags. I really enjoy that show. It was funny, the acting was cheesy in a good way, the editing was done good, and the story was nice and simple. But the finale? That really could've been done better. There really was no time to let that sink in, or give very much closure to the series, and although I think that it was the funniest episode, that ending was lame. I don't care that it was a "sad" ending, but it was infuriating that it was basically, "I'm leaving, I'll never see you guys again in my life, I don't know if this is the right decision or not, bye." "Bye." In, like, 30 seconds. There needs to be more closure, because that has raised a million more questions from me. Would he be moving out of state? Is he gonna like working there? What the hell are Dom and Josh gonna do about any of this crap?
Whatever, it was a great episode, not ending.

Life in a Game- not to be mean or anything, but that show really isn't interesting. Honestly, I think that show takes itself too seriously, and that's the main problem. It has yet to make me laugh, and I can't keep up with the plot- at least, I hope I can't, or it is worse than I thought. It should be as simple as any of the other series on the site, because since it's not a half hour show and the plot lines span so many genres and generations of game (half life, star fox, etc.) it feels like you need to be extremely familiar with all of them to get it, because the show certainly doesn't have time to tell you about it. I've stopped watching it and haven't regretted since.

Does anybody else agree with me? I feel like such a loner about this, it seems like everyone else agrees that these were the bees knees (which Nametags was, finale wasn't).

Nametags rules

But life in a game is a bit bland and the finale of NT could've been better

Don't mess with me.
I got the blue bomber.

Life in a Game IS KICK ASS!

It's serious and interesting. And the subtle humor is just kick ass. But it's your opinion...

Yes, I agree

Liag sucks. It's boring, the action is pretty bad, the story isn't very good and there's no jokes (or good ones at least). And yes, NT ending was anticlimactic. I love the show but your right, the ending was like "bye"....... "Now what do we do?".

Nope

I strongly disagree. Okay, the Nametags finale wasn't the best... Though with LiaG, that's the best thing I've seen on the internet. The first few episodes were a touch bland, but after that, the show started kicking so much ass. I swear, I've never been so impressed by a series before. The amount of effort put into this show is incredible. Each episode seems to get better. Also, it has made me laugh, and I honestly love the references, even if I haven't played every game. I'm not joking, I love LiaG.

Ending

The ending of Nametags is likely how is should be ended. It leaves you with a meh feeling but that is a stlye the director used. It took me a day or so but I fully appreciate how it ended and why it ended the way it did.

About the move

The show takes place in Wisconsin. I wanna say the Green Bay area. The store Jared is going to is in Crandon Wisconsin. Which is 10 minutes south of Rhinelander where Cheryl is. Thus he is staying in the state, just moving several hours north. They left the door open for a second season of the series. Who knows if there will be one, but they left the door open.

I can picture Chad ruining the store, Cha-Cha!

And I think he left in a hurry because he didn't want to get overly emotional.

Life In A Game is good, i

Life In A Game is good, i just prefer nametags, a little funnier and in my opinion overall a better show

But LiaG still rocks

Sorry double post

Sorry double post

I prefer Life in a Game too

I prefer Life in a Game to Nametags by a mile. Nametags was good and I liked the finale but LiaG is genius. If anything I felt Nametags took itself too seriously with all the melodrama.

You know how some people are chocoholics, well I'm an alcoholic!

Exactly

""I'm leaving, I'll never see you guys again in my life, I don't know if this is the right decision or not, bye." "Bye." In, like, 30 seconds. There needs to be more closure, because that has raised a million more questions from me. Would he be moving out of state? Is he gonna like working there? What the hell are Dom and Josh gonna do about any of this crap?"

This section here means I accomplished exactly what I wanted from the ending. The show has always been grounded in reality, so it needs to portray emotion in a believable way.

When is the last time something life changing happened, and you got take sit back and get a nice five-minute recap to get closure on a situation? It could be moving, breaking up with someone, or having a close friend pass away. Does it feel sudden, or do you get that moment to instantly have "closure" to your life?

All those questions you are thinking are the same questions the characters are thinking. Will Jared like the new store? What are Josh and Dom going to do without him? Will Chad get the open job?

Again, I got you feeling exactly the way I wanted you to.

And you did that pretty

And you did that pretty good. GREAT JOB ;D

I was worried for a momment that the ending was gonna blow but, you pulled it off lovely.

OMG PLOT TWIST!!!

Hmmm...

Hmmm... That certainly is an interesting way of doing it, I gotta think about that...

I'm satisfied

The ending worked pretty well I thought. It left people wanting more. That's better than people NOT wanting more...right?

What if in that last scene, a Journey song were playing in the background, and just before Jared gives his answer, the screen goes black. Then people would be really pissed.

Jared & Co. did an excellent job with this show. Well scripted, acted, directed, edited, soundtracked. A solid show all together. It had things in it that both gamers and non gamers could appreciate, and there were genuinely funny moments throughout.

Comparing the two shows is definitely an apples and oranges situation. LiaG revolves more around the game references and special effects (inserting sprites, backgrounds and other animations), and less on realism. Clearly a lot of work goes into it. But, that being said, I find myself connecting a bit more with Nametags. It's not that I'm unable to suspend my disbelief enough to accept the crazy stuff that happens in LiaG....I'm just not as attached to the characters. It's fun to see which games end up in each episode, and they've done some pretty clever stuff with that. I'm not super into the show, but I always give it a chance, and I'll continue to watch.

their both alright

not the best, but their alright, like 4/5, i mean its like if you ought to watch em, you gotta have game knowledge.

Nametag's ending is good, yeah its a sad ending, but if he says no and stays, it'll also be a meh, cos how many times have you seen this?... It also affects real life btw, i mean some guys need to move on and find a newer job.

Liag is awesome! but heres a problem, i'm a game freak, so i got game knowledge, show it to non gamers and they'll go "huh?" totally. However, i really love Life in a game and hope some day it actually airs on normal tv (its a hope, alright...), cos its pretty original.

I really wanna see more of these shows, keep it up guys!

I agree... sorta.

I agree, I try to get into Life in a Game, but for me it becomes a bit confusing...

I love Nametags though.
