(Before People Get Mad, I Am Not An RPG Fan, Only Dragon Quest)
EDIT: Im not talking about the whole fire emblem series, Im just comparing Ike To other possible characters

When I played Brawl at my friends house, i saw a character named "Ike". He looked like a mix of a Dragonball Z and Final Fantasy character. Googled him later on and found out he is in the popular "Fire Emblem" RPG games.
"Ive heard of everyone else in the game, why did this person get in instead of Megaman Or Simon Belmont" is what i thought.
I told my friend what i thought, and he replied
"Fire Emblem is one of the most popular RPGs in Japan, thats why they added him. This game is mostly made for a japanese audience "
This may be true, but if the game is released only for japanese people why would they release it world wide? I think if they took out the sticker system and Ike they could have added 2 more MUCH more recognisable characters like Megaman and Simon Belmont. Both Megaman and Castlevania are popular in Japan also, so why did they choose "Ike"
Thats what i think, and can anyone else bring up any reason why Ike was in and not Megaman? I sure cant.

As much as I hate Ike
I'll have to disagree with you, firstoffeven though both Simon and Megaman started as Nintendo characters they aren't owned by them. And since they already have 2 Thirdparty Characters in Brawl itd cost too much to add in a 3rd. I think a better example would be to add Samurai Goroh.
It'd be best to just add DLC to make Fanboys happy.

I know about them being third party characters, And Its not like Nintendo doesnt have enough money to add them. But still, To me Ike is insignifigant compared to Megaman

yes he is in brawl cause of fire emblem but fire emblem is a great game and if you played melee you wuld know that their are 2 fire emblem charecters roy and marth ike just replaced the good one.Also ike rocks and roy and marth both come from fire emblem in japan or america.But i do agre that megaman shuld of bin in brawl but he shulda replaced wolf or marth.

Well, for one thing Marth and Roy have never been in the US other than Melee, so I don't see how you would recognize Marth either cept for from melee itself. Ike actually IS in American Fire Emblems. 2 of them, I think. The Gamecube and Wii games. I could be wrong though...

thats probably why Ike didnt appeal to me, it seemed to soon to add a a character who had been in 2 games and hadnt been around for very long

Ike is in both path of radiance (GC) and in radiant dawn. Ben is correct.

Well, first of all, the guy who made Mega Man didn't want him to be in it. Simple as that. As for Simon, I guess they didn't think about it, or they though one Konami character was enough, adding another would mean having to add another Sega character.
Now Ike is a character from Fire Emblem Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn, both of these games came out in both Japan and the US. I guess he's in the game because he's sort of a supplement to Marth, and Marth is a character who's yet to be in a translated Fire Emblem, which is why Ike speaks English and Marth speaks Japanese. It's sort of like a bridge.

i think it would be be benificial to put knuckles in that would hav been a pretty good treat. but sega would have pushed for shadow or silver instead though. or how about some one from the early phantasy star games? or even better... VECTORMAN! that would have been awesome.

If you think the game should've stayed in Japan, why did you buy it? Do you think they would take some characters off the game just because they are unknown here? Nintendo could put Megaman and Simon and would've still plenty of space for other characters.
Nintendo didn't add Megaman because Capcom released a bunch of Gamecube games on the PS2 and they were pissed. Who knows about Simon, thought.

I didnt buy the game, i played it at my friends house. And I never said it should stay in Japan
I meant they could of had someone known in japan and the west not just someone known in Japan
i know why they didnt have megaman but they had Snake, which is exactly the same situation as megaman. Orignally owned buy nintendo but later released games on other consoles, they still included him

well snake was never owned by nintendo. and ike is more recognizable to u.s. players than marth is cause he was actually in 2 games that were released here.
and by the same token lucas was never released in an american game either. so i don't believe your argument hold water. if you wanted some one more recognizable to U.S. players then marth and lucas would have gotten the xe and ike wouldn't.
i'm frankly more pissed about falco and starwolf being clone characters. i really think they could have put in some one else in their places.
But...
Snakes first appearance was on a nintendo console. And i know Ike is more recognisable.
Also Ike hasnt been in as many games as Lucas anyway, and I had Heard of Mothership before fire emblem.

Snake was in the game, but hes not owned by nintendo. Konami owns him, so why couldn't they put mega man in the game. He has been in all of the nintendo consuls.Snake has only been on the 2 of the consuls. I understand that Simon Belmont and Mega man are owned by two 3rd party. Can some one help me out.
