Get To Know A G1: CanuckGamer

First off all i need to address why my content has been missing its due dates. I am sorry for the lateness everyone. I went to the doctor for my knee's (they have been acting up since I started tennis like 12 years ago) and they were doing the regular old check up and I noticed the doctor was acting a little weird when he came back with what was going wrong, well he was very stern with his voice and stated that I have cancer. One of Three things will happen: 1) It Spreads and I die, 2)I fight it and live a normal life 3) I fight it but i am wheelchair bound for the rest of my life. I just want to thank everyone that has given their good words and i appreciate all the g(G)1 community has done and said to me. Thank you all so much.

But off of my subject and into CanuckGamer, most of you know him as a all out forum monkey. And if you don't well hell read on =D.

Here is Canuck's Interview

1. Age? Gender?

I'm 15, 16 next May, and a guy.

2. What brought you to ScrewAttack?

I know it was the AVGN... around mid-April was when I first discovered him, then I signed up for ScrewAttack on the 1st of May.

3. What your favorite piece of your gaming collection?

Hmm... well, I don't really have anything particularly rare or amazing. Probably my copy of Link's Awakening for the original Gameboy (considering how young I am).

4. Whats you favorite game or games?

I really like a lot of genres, but my favorites are RPGs, so I think Chrono Trigger.

5. What's your favorite console?

I love the GameCube. It is terribly underrated and has a ton of great games, plus not many people like it so it's like my little niche. ^_^

6. Where were you born and raised?

I was born and currently reside in a medium-sized town about an hour outside of Vancouver, BC, Canada. I like living in small towns, the hustle and bustle of big cities annoys me.

7. What g1 blogs do you check up on?

Pretty much anything that catches my eye with the title, but I always check out the DTT crew's, Wandering_Swordsman's, and a couple other people who are mutual acquaintances.

8. Who's works in other forms of media do you enjoy?

Well, if you mean movies and such, my favorite actor is Christian Bale (and I liked him before Batman, imagine that!), and with music I'll listen to anything as long as it's got a good beat/lyrics. Except country. It can burn in hell.

9. What are some of your favorite non gaming hobbies?

Well, as you can probably tell from my avatar I am a huge hockey fan, and I also like skiing, lacrosse in terms of sports. I love working with and using computers, as well as animating, etc.

10. If your life was a comic book or video game what would be your super power or expertise?

I don't really read comics, but for a superpower... I guess invisibility. You all know why ;)

11. What is your favorite Subject (School)?

Haha, I'll probably have to go with computers, half the time we just play games and when we do do work it gives me a chance to stroke my gigantic ego, so it's pretty good.

12. Who is your favorite game developer?

Hmm... Metroid Prime was awesome, so Retro Studios.

13. Where do you spend most of your time on ScrewAttack?

The forums, boi! That's where it's at. Anyone who only uses the main page, you're missing out big time.

14. What's you Gamertag? PSN Name?

I don't have a PS3 or 360... ;_;

15. What game have you spent the most time on?

Probably Twilight Princess, those damn poes!!

16. What's your favorite game that came out recently?

Recently? Well, I played Megaman Star Force 2 a lot while I was on the plane for my vacation, and haven't played many games since then, so that.

17. What's your favorite video game character (that you can relate to)?

Hmm... you know, I don't really try to relate to characters... but some of my favorite characters are Samus, Link and Solid Snake.

18. No one knows I can ____?

Cook a gourmet meal from scratch every weeknight for a family of four.

19. Whats your favorite Movie?

The Prestige (Surprise, not Batman!).

20. What is one thing that you would change about ScrewAttack?

There isn't really anything I'm dying to see happen, I'm content the way it is.

21. How many times do you say eh in a day?

I only say it when I'm typing, never in real life :P

22. What turned you onto reviewing games?

I've been reviewing games since I came to SA, so I guess that would be it. I just got back into that groove recently.

23. What other reviewers are you inspired by?

I like to think that my reviews are pretty original, I don't like walls of text and nor do readers, but that seems to be the norm these days.

24. What would you like to see in the future with g1 points? What Achievements would you like?

With g1 Points I'd like to see some kind of exchange system... perhaps for merchandise, etc? Because we are attracting visitors and stuff with our Top g1 Posts. I don't really care about the achievements, I've unlocked all the possible ones except year, and prefer to get my points through good posts.

25. What is the rarest game that you don't currently own but you want?

Well, I hate Earthbound (don't flame me, guys!), so Chrono Trigger.

26. What director would you choose for a video game movie?

Let's just say not Uwe Boll ;)

27. What is the stupidest thing you ever did on a bet or dare?

I'm not stupid enough to take bets or dares :P

28. What Projects do you have to come in the future?

Well I can't very well tell you, they're secret!

29. Did you ever go crazy to collect something like Yu-Gi-Oh Cards or Pokemon?

Oh yeah, I have tons of Yu-gi-oh Cards. I'm actually pretty good at it.

30. Why is it g1 instead of G1? come on!

g1= Forum user
G1= Main page loser :P

31. Why are you a member of so many forums?

I'm on the computer a lot each day and I don't have much else to do. I'm always game for another forum on top of my current 14!

32. What is a recent game that really impressed you?

I thought Mirror's Edge looked really neat, although I only have a Wii so I can't play it... ;_;

33. What are you known for? (what would you want on your gravestone?)

That guy everyone knows and loves!

34. Why do you do text "Critiques" instead of videos?

I would say something about integrity, but I'll give you the real reasons:

1) I refuse to use WMM but am too cheap to buy good software.
2) I don't like the sound of my own voice and I doubt it would be appealing to the ears.

35. Rock Band 2 is coming out soon, and if you didn't already know you can export songs on to your hard drive from Rock Band 1, at a low low cost of 5 dollars.
As I was purchasing my licensing pack (for the "classic" songs) I noticed that Enter Sandman was not listed, I did a little research and found out that Metallica has converted to Activision and they will no longer appear in the Rock Band Franchise and stay exclusive for Guitar Hero. What I am trying to get to is, what do you think will happen to other artists being fought over for "Exclusive Songs" on each game and what band would you want to appear in the future? (or who do you think will sell a game more?)

I'm flattered at such a big question, but I really have no opinion because I have neither own nor care for RockBand/GH.

36. Have you ever had a time where you laughed till you cried, fell down, bleed, or some other thing go wrong with your health?

Umm, no, not to that extent. I have laughed so hard I couldn't stop laughing for about 5 minutes, though.

37. Do you drink alot of one thing? (I drink gallons of water everyday)

Not a lot of one particular thing... I do drink OJ or other fruit juices pretty often though.

38. If you had the power to take control of 5 G1's content and change it for the better, worse, or weird who's would you take control of and what would you do?

C'mon man, 5? Alright...

1) G1 News: Change the upper case "G" to lower case :P
2) Japan Now: Make him smile and seem more enthusiastic.
3) SPARTA: Make it crappy so that W_S wouldn't keep beating me in the g1 Point Leaderboard...

... sorry, that's all I can think of.

39. Where would you like to see your content in the future? (We see you're on HealingTouch, Nice Job)

Well, I wanted it on DTT... ;_;

40. What made you get into making signatures?

I started off making crappy lame ones in Paint.NET, but then decided to try out GIMP, and it was way better, and here I am!

41. Would you recommend me some sites for tutorials so I can make some sigs of my own, or hand over some tips?

I've never used one so I wouldn't know, sorry.

42. How long does it usually take you to make a siggie?

You can usually tell mine apart, most have the same basic formula. I can whip up a nice one in about 10-15 minutes, not including time taken to find good images.

43. What are some good rendering sites?

Planet Renders is where I get mine.

44. Do you have any true passions you are ashamed to talk about?

Kratt's Kreatures. That show is fucking amazing. Look it up.
