If you've seen and are down with g1 Lee's Still Gaming review show then you'll be down with his girlfriend/assistant Dena's spin off "The Game Den." In this episode Dena takes a look at a game that put the violence in Mortal Kombat to shame- Thrill Kill. Haven't heard of it? It's because it never came out. 20 minutes long, The Game Den hits every detail about a game that would of been the industries first "Adults Only" game.

I've "gotten my hands on a copy" and it really was an experience in its own right. It also brings about the thought of, "What if this game was released? Would Mortal Kombat and Killer Instinct have been different than what we've come to know it today?"
I think I may have to revisit this game some time...

I agree with you, I can see that she was trying to express her emotions and get some camera time but it wasn't really necssesary.
Also, I felt that the references to anime were a little annoying because she didn't explain the acronym to FMV ( I kind of had to figgure that one out myself) and those stupid " (>.<) " faces were a little over used.
Could of been a little shorter hahaha but hey... I watched the entire thing despite all of that and I couldn't do any better.
All in all, entertaining and good sound quality.
It's been used since at least FF7. Actually, it originated with Dragon's Lair. So the term has been used for at least 25 years now. It's a widely used term for "cinematics" (AKA full motion video), and anyone who has been playing games for a while should know what it means.

Anyways, nice video. I had heard about Thrill Kill a long time ago, but forgot about it and didn't know about it getting cancelled. Seems like an okay game, but the over the top violence is pretty cool for the time. It really would be interesting to see what they would do with the game now.

I started using still shots because it's what I was used to after doing reviews for Still Gaming. At first I stuck with it just for that reason, and I've considered using normal video footage like most others, but I kind of like how expressive the still images allow me to be, so I may stick with it after all. Bioshock would've been a better comparison.
I first saw footage of this game back about 5 or 6 years ago on a UK show called Bits and by god was I pissed off that this game would never see the light of day. Now that we got a full on review of this epic non-released title I feel resolved although I'm still pissed at EA for canceling Thrill Kill and now trying to get the most violent franchises that is still around. *sigh* It makes no sense what so ever. Anyway great review from Dena there and look forward to more from her and Lee in the future.

I must say i also had the pleasure of playing this game once, like 7 years ago or so. A friend of mine had a copy of it (probably the first version) and we played it once, when he came to my house to do a schoolwork.
I think it was the first version of the game, because i don't remember having much to do. Only Single player and multiplayer.
Oh, and do also remeber that eye logo showing up every time.
But anyway, the game was pretty cool, like she said. It would be great if they had released it oficially.

Nice game review. Having a PS1 and PS2 modded is the best thing you can ever have. You can download all the games from torrent sites, burn it on a cd/dvd then you are good to go. PS3 would have a modded chip, but it be too expensive to buy a blue ray burner and the blue ray disc.

I've heard that Paradox loved that so many people downloaded Thrill Kill. Shows that their work wasn't completely in vain since at least some people got to play the game and liked it.
For the record, this is pretty much the only game I've ever downloaded--I'm not into piracy and I normally wouldn't condone it, but I made an exception for this game since it's the only way to play it.
Hell, the fact that I had so many problems getting it to play is probably proof of that--if I pirated a lot of games, I would have already had what was necessary to play it on and wouldn't have had to go through so much trial and error =P

It's technically still pirating, but nobody cares. The FBI has bigger fish to fry than a few game junkies downloading a few unreleased games for generations ago.
The only pirating I have a problem with is in regard to new media that needs to be supported. Especially the niche games that don't sell well and need every sale they get to allow their developers to continue making quality non-mainstream games.
