I think he's a good reviewer. I love the fact he reviews games you either played and hated or wish to never play. Some though....I have to play them just to walk in that same frustration. The ONLY game I really loved no matter how bad it was is Castlevania 2. |

I think you people forget to realize, while he has stated that the Nerd is a character, it is STILL James after all. He obviously bases his complaints around the ones he would really make while playing the game. Sure, he may exaggerate the claim for humors sake, but to be honest, pretty much every game he reviews, he rips it apart. These games suck, that is the purpose. He is a much better reviewer than anybody on legit game sites like IGN or GameSpot. He manages to find logical and technical flaws in almost every game. For example, in the very first episode, he points out just how stupid the programming was in Castlevania 2. You can't cancel out the text box for the time transition, but you can skip the box that pops up for the books, that tell you necessary information. |

While it's true that his gripes with the games are grounded in reailty (otherwise, what would be the point? "Man, Mario Bros 1 sucks, the flaming oil drums on the motorcycle stage are near impossible to avoid. That sucks monkey ****." Yeah, not very funny. Apart from the "sucks monkey ****" part, of course, but that's always funny), that doesn't make him a reviewer. It's pointing out legitimate problems, nitpicking, exaggerating for humor, funny language and skits. It's an entertainment show. They're not supposed to be taken as serious, legit reviews. |

Okay, this thread did exactly what I had expected; it's everything but what the topic at hand is actually supposed to be. I wanted to see how it would go...And well, it went.

I think he does review games well its jus they are put forward in such a fashion that the entertainment takes over, Also at the end of the day unless its a special feature like with castlevania, he doesnt really do games that he likes so in a way u kinda know it gonna be a **** game but jus how **** is wat he is reviewing |

Pretty good reviewer for his serious work, but remember most of them are intentionally farcical. |

the AVGN is a comedy show. They're meant primarily to make people laugh. If you want a serious review, you have no right to complain because you're looking in the wrong direction.
