oh do I feel sorry for you...  you played Twin Snakes...  the prettier but retarded twin brother of Metal Gear Solid.  There was so much wrong with that remake it made me ill playing it.  But if you havn't been jaded by the pretty colours you should definitely try and find the Metal Gear Solid collection for PS2 since you have a BC PS3.  You get Metal Gear Solid for PSX, and 2 and 3 for PS2.  I found it at HMV for $40 which is a great deal since you'll be getting possibly the best video game ever made in Metal Gear Solid 3.

You'll definatly want to play 2 and 3 befor picking up GotP.  Since the story is already confusing enough with the backstory.  LOL

But congrates my friend, you've embarked on playing the greastest series of video games ever made.  They really do walk the video game/art line very well.

Oh, and when you play/beat 3 let me know your thoughts.  It's truely a masterpiece!  (And you've got to sit through the cut scenes the first time through!)

Well I'll see what I can find and for what price, but if I can find it I'll get the collection. And yeah, I'm definitely sitting through the cutscenes, I made the mistake of skipping half of the cutscenes in Twin Snakes. That's one of the main reasons I'm playing through it again.

theres no reason to play metal gear if your not totally into the story, theres other generic action games with no plot

I can't think of anything that would make a good MG game. The plot keeps jumping around.

well I'd suggest waiting and playing the PSX Metal Gear Solid instead of playing through Twin Snakes again.  They cut out a lot of the story in Twin Snakes.

Metal Gear Solid focuses on the story where Twin Snakes looked at the story and said, "yea, we're gonna focus on visuals first then if there's room we'll put what we can of the story into it."  I can't really recall what they cut but I remember being irked and confused when it wasn't the exact same story...

what did they cut out??

sure, alot of the action in the cutscenes was a little too "matrix" style for my tastes, and the voice acting from the supporting cast was sub par but after playing both versions many times i really didnt feel like they left any of the plot "out" of the game, just added alot of over done action scenes

unless there were tiny cluse in codec call that were over my head or something?

i think MGS:psx was the superior game, but if youve only played TS they you havent missed any story or plot
