Like I've said before, any popular game gets overrated to some degree or another. Remember when Halo 2 came out? The hype was a lot bigger than the game was, too. It's just that this time around there are even more gamers than there were back then, so the hype is even bigger.

I'm not too pleased with it. I liked to scrim people in BF2 a lot, and when I heard that COD6 wasn't going to have dedicated server support, I opted not to buy it.

I agree that sometimes servers can have really bad admins, and so standardizing your servers is kind of nice. But if there are any flaws in the game, there need to be unofficial servers to enforce those rules. Likewise, some people like to play differently than others. If someone wants to play a game without, say, grenades or automatic weapons, where can they go for that? If someone wants to play alone on a clan server against another clan, where can they go?

its still a boost for dying and a reward for being bad at a game.
its only 10 seconds but thats plenty of time to pull out grenades, Rocket launcher and a spraying assult rifle. and matyrdom can still piss you off since it can end your streak, and even more now since you die so easy and are not prepared for matyrdom grenades.

As opposed to Martyrdom which was just a perk in the previous game? And this is the **** you get from playing in a public match, it's the same of any game that you'll get the beginners having beginners luck and picking you off.

It's to make it easier for more people to get into the game so more people can enjoy playing it, you need to get over yourself.

okay.. so to get good at a game you need to be lucky? are you some sort of new gamer? in the 8bit-16bit era you were just supposed to play the **** out of the game untill you master it. today its "here is an overpowered weapon!" "GO BLOW **** UP SINCE WE CANT SELL A HARD GAME". come on.. you can do better than that. and about matyrdom, everybody complained about the perk and wanted it removed. what do IW do? reward newbies with matyrdom death streak!(i still hate it) They dont even have to level up that much to unlock it! just pick an assult rifle and go to town with it, eventually you will unlock it and then just continue your slaughter with an overpowered weapon!

Wow... where did I ever say that you had to be lucky to be good? Christ...

Also, don't even think about comparing the 8-bit and 16-bit era to the modern gaming industry, it's a really bad comparison to make.

I personally think it deserved the hype a bit. I heard that COD4 was amazing, all of my friends were talking about MW2 months before it came out. I am currently playing the campaign mode and I have to say, it is really good.

I don't think it's overrated in the slightest. The story mode thou short is very thrilling, Spec Ops is an awesome and the multiplayer is incredible.

It's a good game but not as good as everyone makes it out to be.

The only really good part about it imo is the Special Ops mode.

its an awesome game, but does have its problems.. so yeh it is overated

a overrated game is really the view of the person, if they dont like the previous one and see the new one get big scores going to say overrated...


Or if the person overhypes the game too much for themselves and it doesnt prove to be as good as you thought well you choose to fall for all the hype and probably had your own view on how the game was going to be but didn't turn out that way. Personally MW2 for me was a great game sure the No dedi is going to hold it back for me but i still have a insane amount of fun, but anyway where was i? Oh yeah again overrated falls into the catagory of your own opinion as what can be one guys absolute favorite can be another guys most hated nightmare
