What two grown adults want to do with their lives is none of mine nor anyone elses business.  So if two men or two women want to get married and have all the rights as an opposite sex couple they should be able to.

Yes, there is little to no non-religious reason not to, so you can't deny them the right.

anyone who claims to oppose it for reasons other than religion is probably talking out of their ass.

I heard that a common complaint is that they get the right to adopt children, and many people think this would give children a complex. It's somewhat true sometimes, but most of the time, they grow up as normally as we do.

Yeah but then it sorta "spreads".

Roses are #FF0000, violets are #0000FF, all my base are belong to you. One day I went to the dentist. My dentist asked that I remove my Screwattack hat, I insisted it would not bother him but he continued to do so, I later left and filed a law suit for insulting my religion.

If you are implying that homosexuality is something that can "spread" like a virus then you are grossly mistaken.

There are plenty of studies out there that show that children adopted by a gay or lesbian couple live normal lives no different from those adopted by a straight couple. Girls adopted by a gay couple are twice as likely to pursue a more rigorous career (like, for example, engineering) than those raised in a heterosexual household. This is something I can attest to first hand, since one of my neighbors was a lesbian couple who adopted 2 kids and they're both perfectly normal. Hell, one's graduating from high school in May and was accepted to U Texas' honors program.

Also, my uncle is gay and he and his husband had been fighting with their insurance company to adopt a child for years before they got too old to care for him/her in a proper environment. When insurance finally decided to read up on the subject and studies of gay adoption they granted my uncle an adoption. However, they knew that children adopted by older parents do NOT live normal lives, are more prone to commit crimes and rebel against their parents, and my uncle and his husband wouldn't want that out of fear that the media and politicians would ignore those facts and blame it on their sexual orientation.

As I've said many times in this thread, a lot of the people who are so opposed to same-sex relationships of any kind are just ignorant to current social studies, have never been around gay people before, are playing the religious card, and/or are xenophobic. Seriously, if you'd just spend time with with a gay or lesbian person you'd see they're no different from anyone else.

You misunderstood my post. I was pointing out an argument I don't agree with, not that gay parents make you gay. The complex in question is the usual "I don't belong" complex most kids go through, so it's pretty pointless. It's not the concern it used to be, now that people are more open minded. There isn't anything wrong with homosexuality, nor does it spread. Read up on the subject from a non-republican source to get a better idea.

I'm gonna make this short, because I'm very, very, very tired. No, I don't support gay marriage. No, I don't resist gay marriage. No, I'm not homophobic, but neither am I a gay rights activist. No, I don't see the big deal, since they're people and they should be able to marry whoever they want, no matter the gender. (If they both wanna get married, that is...)
