Mega Man 3 review
By Sananj94 on December 7, 2008, 8:44 am
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KuU9qP_DceM My favorite Mega Man game of all time. (well at least out of the ones i have played.) It's that good. If I don't get more than one vote for a game, then I will pick my own game from the people that voted. For next week, you have to vote for a wii game to be reviewed that's not mega man 9 (i'm saving that) I want it to be wii, because I want to do reviews in a diverse way, not in order. The wii game has to be in my collection also. BTW, check out Fecman's review of this game. P.S. This was done on a PS2 with a video recorder.

That being said, there are some things I think you could improve on. First of all, the sound quality. There are points where I can't hear you too well. That's not good since that's the main reason I'm watching the video. I should be able to hear you clearly over the gameplay.
Secondly, The fact that you died a couple times and spent so much time standing around the disappearing blocks. It really makes people stop watching videos when people die or get stuck; its just not fun to watch. I know that this isn't really your fault (and I'm not trying to say you aren't good at the game) but it shouldn't have gotten in the final video.
Lastly, your review style. By that I mean you record the gameplay as you speak. I'm not going to try and tell you not to do it, especially if that's your thing, but there are some problems caused by this. Firstly your review narrative can only be placed over a very small portion of gameplay. In this review you could only show one stage. The fact that your playing while trying to talk causes you to become distracted and loose your train of thought. This probably also explains why you died in Magnet Man's stage, I know how hard it is to try and think objectively while your playing. Its like you can't do both.
Both of those things would be rectified if you were to record your gameplay first and then make a commentary over it later. However, I know you have your own reviewing style and I don't want to try and change it, just some things to keep in mind.
Lastly, I believe a number based scoring system for a game as old as the NES era is incredibly archaic and doesn't really tell you anything at all. While I'm not the biggest fan of the 10-point system in general I think it works for current games because it sort of gives you a reference point to judge games against. Let an older game's longevity speak for it instead.
I hope some of that was useful to you. Keep on reviewing.

Your probably a very good reviewer, but until you get a better sound recorder, I won't know.
