If we're at QuakeCon you can bet that you will see one thing for sure- Unaware Steve. This year he takes to the floor, as unaware as ever, still in searching for the answer to his life long question: "What's going on?"

I sure did! I actually consider Cool Spot to be one of my favorite SNES games, but the music is not from the SNES version. Do you know which version is playing?

Are you sure it's not from the SNES version?
I had this game on the SNES.
I remember this music from the 1st or 2nd level of the game, i'm not sure.
Anyway, Cool Spot was released for the Mega Drive/Genesis, Sega Master System, Game Gear, PC and more as well.
Maybe that music was from the Mega Drive/Genesis version.
My favourite music from Cool Spot is a track which I actually remember it's title; "Off The Wall".
It was a heap beat that was played in 2 levels of the game that took place inside a wall which contained mice.
Remember that track?
It was very catchy.:)

Cool Spot was undeniably the best game featuring a poppin' pop mascot ever made...and while it probably was the only title ever made starring a soda sales pitch, that stat still doesn't make this game go flat.
Why?
Well, Cool Spot is a perfect example of the kind of video games that are so few and far between in today's market. Aside from casting the spotlight on an already groovy character that made his claim to fame in numerous classic TV ads, Cool Spot served up some unconventional side-scrolling shoot 'em up, collect-a-thon action that was just plain fun, with one of the craziest ideas for a bonus stage ever to hit the bits. What's cooler than a cartoon character with shades guzzlin' fizz like nobody's bizz? Why, a cartoon character with shades guzzlin' fizz like nobody's bizz inside a cold one, bouncing around from bubble to bubble in search of a prize? You just don't see that kind of wacky gameplay today.
Oh, and Unaware Steve - grab a better mic for your segment next time. Couldn't hear a word from the guy not wearing the snazzy shades/sombrero set. Great Elvis impersonation, though.
