You know, it annoys me as well how much shit the new crowd is getting.
I have enjoyed Destin since day 1 and he has yet to make me not laugh. Maxifint Corey is also just as awesome.
I recently went to check out the "other site" and last week they just down played screwattack. I have been to Game Trailers and read the comments and they have done the same.
Im just like, WTF?
This site is legit and it really is up to us g1's to spread the word.
I come here daily, I enjoy the culture, and the staff is just awesome.
That "other site" will never have the charm that this site has or the staff.

Also, Why not make a "Behind the scenes" of Screw Attack HQ? I know that all of the g1's will be more than interested in a video like that as well as letting the GT fans know what is going on over here.

I'll admit I haven't listen to SS for the past two weeks. Listening to this weeks SS it wasn't a bad time to tune in. Heard some of the new people for the first time. I do like both Corey and Destin comments during the show. It's almost like they came prepared. With a few random things thrown in courtesy of Jose.

Jose, Craig, Ben, Steve, Dustin, ETC They all improve with time. I'm serious. Compare "Old" Craig with "new" Craig.

I agree with Jose. People should stop saying that Screwattack is "Breaking Down." It's exactly the same damnit. And I don't want to impose, but Tom wasn't exactly the most frequent person to pop up, and Liz only did the quote of the week! Destin's Great, and if you just so happen to hate greatness, deal with it.

I dont get it. Why people still saying ScrewAttack is breaking down? For me that problem was already over, and everyone starts to capitalize on fresh ideas.
But you aren't the only people that have problems with the haters at GT. Look at GT itself. There is the same group of people writing all the reviews. But if someone but the usual guy voices them, they "suck ass", are "lame" and "dont get the point of the game" or whatever.
Thats just what many people are on the internet: complete morons. So dont think too much about all that crap, and just keep doing what you do. People will always complain if theres something new. And who knows, maybe destin moves on to something else sometime in the future and everybody will complain about the guy that will come after him.

I've been a member of GT since last year and about 70% of the time it's nothing but immature 10 year olds calling people gay and what not. now they give Destin shit every time he's in a VGV. I think he does a great job and that the MKIII one with him and Craig was cool, yet people on GT always have to hate. What twats most of them are.

I don't think it would be that hard to do a Zelda movie. Since each game is pretty much compartmentalized anyway, why not do the same with the movie? Just let the movie be its own story, let it define itself, don't worry about it staying true to the game mechanics, and there's literally no reason it couldn't come out okay. Just as long as Uwe Boll doesn't direct it.
...And as long as the movie doesn't end with the traditionally mute Link looking into the camera and saying "Well EXCUUUUUUUUUUSE ME, Princess!".

I think the point is that while it wouldn't be hard, it may be difficult to create a movie that all gamers would like. Lots of people have their own internal concept of what Link should be like, and since he doesn't talk in the game they'd have to create an on-screen personality for him. Some people might like it, but there'd probably be a large group put off by it. Get enough haters and the movie flops.
Case in point, I bet a lot of people didn't care for the cocky teen version of Link that was in the cartoon series (the one that followed Captain N: the Game Master).

Despite the extensive time spent shaking a fist at the "ScrewAttack is Dead" crowd ("shake harder, boy!"), this was clearly the best SideScrollers aired in a long, long time. Why?
1) She may have seemed a lil' ditzy at first, but Cory really held her own in this episode. She's not just cute, she means BUSINESS.
2) For the first time in my opinion, Jose nailed an impression, and it actually made me laugh. I hereby challenge Senor Mexicano to do an entire VGV as Randy Newman! WHAT SAY YOU???
3) Destin refrained from whining about any undeserved bashing he's been getting lately, and that alone is more impressive than anything else he's done yet (not to say that the new Hard News are not quality -- the momentum is cookin' in the second vid!). Staring down the moaners and groaners out there and refusing to bend down to their level is what made his and Cory's contribution to this SideScrollers so great, and g1s can only hope their attitude takes over and bring SA out of the self-doubting, frustrating gutter its been in for some time now.
That all being said, here's a question: with Hard News getting its own wings, what'll be the attraction to equip g1s in SideScrollers now? The SideScrollers news desk adds some radio flavor to the mix, and the forum questions are the icing on the cake, but...where'd the cake go?
Great episode guys! :) Screw Attack has really become an excellent site. I love the changes and I love the new faces/voices. Thanks guys! But one thing... why do y'all keep hatin' on the PS3? What's the deal with that? Later...

As Craig said Most of the younger generation doesn't care about retro games or where Video games originally sprouted, I say most because I am a part of this gaming generation as a younger person, and my first system was an N64, so I didn't get to experience the awesomeness of earlier consoles so I'm trying to catch up on that, I have a small retro game collection which I am gradually building. I appreciate retro video games and have fun playing them.
I just want to say that I'm not part of the younger generation that doesn't care about the past.

All the whining about the criticism being levied at ScrewAttack was a real downer. When the videos on Game Trailers were receiving 9's across the board I didn't hear any complaints about "12 year olds." I'm guessing the demographics of GameTrailers didn't change overnight, however the nucleus of ScrewAttack did.
The quality and the humor has gone downhill since the departure of Tom. Worse yet, there seemed to be a concerted effort in the latest SideScrollers to downplay the contributions Tom and Liz made to the development of ScrewAttack. Despite the efforts of Ben and Jose, they simply haven't been able to fill that gap - go back and watch Love/Hate or listen to the intern only SideScrollers. It feels like ScrewAttack is all of a sudden being run by those same 12 year olds.
While I think ScrewAttack has some good new concepts, Hard News Daily and Love/Hate, I feel they have been poorly executed thus far. I find Destin's presence and humor to be a bit bland to say the least (perhaps it will improve with time) and Ben & Jose are simply incapable of carrying a segment when left to themselves. I'd like to see Craig and Cory, who seems to be come to the table prepared, take the lead on ScrewAttack and simply relegate everyone else to skits ending with someone being punched in the balls.

As was mentioned on Sidescrollers, there really wasn't a big "nucleus" change in ScrewAttack. Craig, Ben, and Jose are all still there. The only major player who left was Tom, and the whole reason for Craig not giving him the raise was that he wasn't really innovating or bringing anything new to the table. Sure he was in some awesome Game Vault videos, but apparently he wasn't doing anything to bring ScrewAttack to the next level. While his personality will be missed, I think it's great that they aren't just getting mirror personalities to act as stand-ins.
I agree that Love/Hate isn't my favorite segment, though at least they're constantly working on new concepts. Craig did admit that the intern SideScrollers wasn't the greatest idea ever. It's good that they try new things and recognize areas for improvment as they go.
Destin's only done a couple of Game Vaults so far, so it seems way too early to judge him. The first was so-so, and the second was good (unless you like MK 1/2 better than 3, lol). I do enjoy the Scoop videos, and Hard News Daily has been pretty great so far IMO.
If you don't like all the new content, no one says you have to watch it. The great ScrewAttack segments are still going, they just have additional content features on top of it. Hardly a bad thing in my mind.
Moving to the "next level" is not always a good thing. In fact, it can often bring you away from what made you interesting in the first place.
I like ScrewAttack because they have unique features. VGA hooked me. It was different from what other websites were doing.
But Hard News? I don't come to ScrewAttack for gaming news. There are already thousands of gaming news sites. It's an area ScrewAttack really shouldn't be bothered with.
I am very disappointed with the crew's attempt to lessen Tom's role at ScrewAttack on this podcast. It's very immature and not honest. For alot of listeners and viewers Tom WAS a core element of ScrewAttack. He was on SideScrollers every week. That's hardly not contributing. So what if he wasn't innovative? That's a poor reason for letting someone go. Not everyone is innovative. Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses and Tom brought a lot to ScrewAttack based on his strengths.
And what innovations have ScrewAttack seen since Tom's departure? Hard News Daily. Please.
Do what you do best ScrewAttack and people will continue to love what you do. If it ain't broke don't "fix" it.

Younger Gamers
As Craig said Most of the younger generation doesn't care about retro games or where Video games originally sprouted, I say most because I am a part of this gaming generation as a younger person, and my first system was an N64, so I didn't get to experience the awesomeness of earlier consoles so I'm trying to catch up on that, I have a small retro game collection which I am gradually building. I appreciate retro video games and have fun playing them.
I just want to say that I'm not part of the younger generation that doesn't care about the past.

I never thought sidescrollers was bad but..
It seems whole again... Very nice. And are they surprised about the GT communities comments on the MK3 VGV? Its the GT community! They are mostly idiots and fanboys. There are people I like there and people I know are smart but most of the community is retarded or a troll or a fanboy or all of them combined!

Hey Im a new G1 but i have bin a long time viewer. And I want to say that this side scrollers was awsome. If this helps at all me and a whole lot of other g1s think dustin is doing a fantastic job at Screwwattack.

All the whining about the
All the whining about the criticism being levied at ScrewAttack was a real downer. When the videos on Game Trailers were receiving 9's across the board I didn't hear any complaints about "12 year olds." I'm guessing the demographics of GameTrailers didn't change overnight, however the nucleus of ScrewAttack did.
The quality and the humor has gone downhill since the departure of Tom. Worse yet, there seemed to be a concerted effort in the latest SideScrollers to downplay the contributions Tom and Liz made to the development of ScrewAttack. Despite the efforts of Ben and Jose, they simply haven't been able to fill that gap - go back and watch Love/Hate or listen to the intern only SideScrollers. It feels like ScrewAttack is all of a sudden being run by those same 12 year olds.
While I think ScrewAttack has some good new concepts, Hard News Daily and Love/Hate, I feel they have been poorly executed thus far. I find Destin's presence and humor to be a bit bland to say the least (perhaps it will improve with time) and Ben & Jose are simply incapable of carrying a segment when left to themselves. I'd like to see Craig and Cory, who seems to be come to the table prepared, take the lead on ScrewAttack and simply relegate everyone else to skits ending with someone being punched in the balls.
Big change?
As was mentioned on Sidescrollers, there really wasn't a big "nucleus" change in ScrewAttack. Craig, Ben, and Jose are all still there. The only major player who left was Tom, and the whole reason for Craig not giving him the raise was that he wasn't really innovating or bringing anything new to the table. Sure he was in some awesome Game Vault videos, but apparently he wasn't doing anything to bring ScrewAttack to the next level. While his personality will be missed, I think it's great that they aren't just getting mirror personalities to act as stand-ins.
I agree that Love/Hate isn't my favorite segment, though at least they're constantly working on new concepts. Craig did admit that the intern SideScrollers wasn't the greatest idea ever. It's good that they try new things and recognize areas for improvment as they go.
Destin's only done a couple of Game Vaults so far, so it seems way too early to judge him. The first was so-so, and the second was good (unless you like MK 1/2 better than 3, lol). I do enjoy the Scoop videos, and Hard News Daily has been pretty great so far IMO.
If you don't like all the new content, no one says you have to watch it. The great ScrewAttack segments are still going, they just have additional content features on top of it. Hardly a bad thing in my mind.
What "next level"?
What's the "next level" you speak of?
Moving to the "next level" is not always a good thing. In fact, it can often bring you away from what made you interesting in the first place.
I like ScrewAttack because they have unique features. VGA hooked me. It was different from what other websites were doing.
But Hard News? I don't come to ScrewAttack for gaming news. There are already thousands of gaming news sites. It's an area ScrewAttack really shouldn't be bothered with.
I am very disappointed with the crew's attempt to lessen Tom's role at ScrewAttack on this podcast. It's very immature and not honest. For alot of listeners and viewers Tom WAS a core element of ScrewAttack. He was on SideScrollers every week. That's hardly not contributing. So what if he wasn't innovative? That's a poor reason for letting someone go. Not everyone is innovative. Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses and Tom brought a lot to ScrewAttack based on his strengths.
And what innovations have ScrewAttack seen since Tom's departure? Hard News Daily. Please.
Do what you do best ScrewAttack and people will continue to love what you do. If it ain't broke don't "fix" it.

for the New members of the SA family i must say that you have done a great job so far, Destin i like how you present Hard News everyday, Corey not only because you are a girl you don't know anything about videogames so hey you have done a great job at SideScrollers, and for Ben, Nick, Jose and Craig, keep it up guys, the true g1's are at your site and hope the community grows igger and faster.
