If The Club was released a decade ago people would of thought it was the greatest game of all-time... or at least pretty good. It wasn't so now HighSchool Ben has to give us the low down on whether of not it's worthy of being in your collection.

Correct me if I'm wrong Ben, but to answer your question ClockWork, I believe the purpose of the scoop is to help you decide whether or not to buy, rent, or skip the game. At least that's how I've interpreted it. It's less about the grading, and more about just telling you wether it's worth you time or not...

That's exactly it. The Scoop is all about letting you know whether or not you'd want to purchase said game. I point out the best and worst points of the game to see if it's right for you.

I played the demo on PS3 and it looks like they made little improvements in the actual game. I'm sorry that you had to sit through and play the whole thing for this review, because I deleted the demo half way through the first mission.

I got this game as a demo for a PC magazine. I installed it and immediately was shocked at the xbox control scheme, FOR MY COMPUTER, ugh not another shitty port i thought, but iw as right. I played the first level availabel to me, Venice and immediately had to turn down the sensitivity on my mouse so i didn't fling 1080 degrees every time i moved it a milimeter to the side. not to mention that walking and running felt like a chore, i just couldn't do anything that was supposed to look even remotely cool, which the game touted.
and after all this crap, i got the highest score that the game asked me for it. on fuckin easiest difficulty. wtf? of course i went back and did the next difficulty, but sure enough there was no change, sure there were more enemies, but i still had no trouble killing the shithouse a.i.
in short, don't buy this game, if you do, i'd advise the MOD uninstall.exe

I found the Club to be an unoriginal, recycled, over-done game idea marketed quite possibly towards the teen aged, mentally challenged or to at least those very and I do stress very easily amused solely for profit.
I think game developers should start looking towards getting themselves an "Awesomo 4000" and ask it to come up with new, original game ideas; who knows, this way they might come up with a winner.

Basically if you can just take it for what it really is, or should've been, just a run and gun game, that is suppose to be very arcadey then it's a decent game. Sure it's nothing great or anything you would want to pay full retail for. But I did think that it was entertaining to play for no more than 30 minutes at a time.
For a $20 price tag, this game still wouldn't be my first choice, but still I don't think it's that god awful of a game as described.

I don't know why, but since last week, your videos doesn't work with macs safary any more, mabe you could change that, because i don't like to switch every time to firefox just to watch your videos.

Nothing wrong with this game... it's a lot of fun to play... don't know what he's complaining about... I've never had a problem with the controls or getting stuck or anything like that.... The online gameplay is a lot of fun to and I can always find a server to get on and shoot some people up... not the best game in the world but certainly not a total flop..

I got this game for about 25 bucks from Target bargain bin (and what a bargain since Walmart and Gamestop still sell this game for about 55 to 60 bucks), had it for a week, but only played it for 3 days. They could have done so much with this but it just was bad. I mean they could have made the other characters bosses for the last level of each stage or whatever but it was just boring. The endings for the characters were dumb, a couple of them set up so maybe we could look forward to "The Club 2"!
The online sucked because no one was playing! I got it for the PS3 and there were, in total, like 20 people playing.
I traded it in with some other games towards my preorder for Soul Caliber 4

From what i've seen from this video, this game does sound rather terrible; I would have thought people would know how to make a decent third person shooter, this game seems quite boreing and since he mentioned that the controls and trying to melee attack someone was difficult I doubt this game is very good.
I may download the demo if I can on XBL to see how bad it might be, but to be honest it doesn't seem all that original, seems to be like Manhunt, but not as good.

I did a review about a week after release then decided not release it after my opinions changed on the game so drastically.
The combo system still works and it kinda reminds me of max payne 1&2 especially the bonus mode in 2.
