her video, Toastman, i believe you should lose points, you should list what you disliked about the video. I applaud little miss gamer, she rocks, and if not for the fact when I did do a video, all i got was "omg your so damn hot, want to %$#$" i would have gotten into the video craze that gets featured, but i decided to gird myself, and do writing. I know its not the best because i type so fast i cant even bother to press shift, or a period, but i like to think i do a good job on my comics.
Toastman, she is not a whore or a slut, but a girl who loves to game. Bashing her just because she gets featured and you do not, is not the way to do things around here. this is a community of gamers and we should support, not divide.
When you think about it, the fanboyism is kind of like the cival rights movement. Where we single out a single or 2 cultures of people, and make them feel unwelcome or unwanted. Xbox owners single out PS3 owners because they are the real competing console, Wii owners try to have peace but still bash on others. and PS3 owners bash on 360 owners. Why cant the community come together and agree to disagree. Im a "all console" gamer. I own PS3, Wii, and 360. When you have truely played all the consoles, then tell your opinion.

I'm not trying to take away from your show at all, I think that your insight into yourself is a nice idealism as well for other female gamers. Looking to you, I can't help but think, "It's cool you're a female gamer, but also the female demographic in gaming is kinda small also." One would also say that there are also some of the same archetypes with female gamers as there are with male. Female gamers are a rare breed because if you look at it from your standpoint, the female gamer gets to find a significant other with similar tastes than the other way around. From a guy's and my perspective, trying to find a woman that is in to gaming as well is rather tough. Either they don't have anything to do with them, play them just for the sake of playing like your first example, or are taken themselves. So where is the guy's perspective of the female archetype and finding that diamond that we can share our gaming passions with and have an enjoyable time as well?

...but this episode was supposed to be a parody of (or tribute to) the movie High Fidelity - where John Cusack refects on all his failed relationships. And in that movie we don't see the female perspective. So...since the star of Little Miss Gamer series is female, they went with the reverse. Doing both sides would defeat the purpose of the parody/tribute.

Hey everyone who worked on this project, I just wanted to take a second and tell you that you did a great job. I love the High Fidelity reference, and it was just a great piece of media. It even made me think a little bit. Than you.
i play games for the fun of it whenever i walk into a gamestore i scan the games look at the covers see if it looks interesting this is how i've gained half my VC games. Also i like games that no one else really does such as Army of Two or Dirge of Cerberus
. I dont go to the trouble of importing things or anything. I spend most of my time playing games. I also enjoy every game i have no matter how many people say it sucks.
I also dont like a lot of the bigger titles such as Metroid and i like Kotor 2 more then 1 but i didnt play resident evil until 4 came out on the wii which is sort of contradictes it self people say its a casual console but a hardcore game
I also replay games all the time even if i know whats gonna happen i've replayed Splinter Cell Double Agent the same way a dozen times.
I dont consider myself hardcore because i never go for the big releases when i got my 360 last Christmas i was more excited for Lost Planet and Crackdown then Halo 3 and Cod 4.
I wouldnt ever think to play for pay but if such a job came up i would take it but more for the games then the easiness of the job. I'm not a table gamer enough said.
i cant really say im good at games because i havent played over Live, Brawl has no leaderboards and I never play Mario Kart online

I can think of a few other types of Gameres Myself:
The Social Gamer: Couldn't imagine a world without multi-player, online or co-op play.
The Cutting Edge Gamer: Only plays or cares about what is current or techniacally impressive. Others marvel at how they manage to drop such a steady cash flow.
The Cheap Ass Gamer: On the Fip Side you have the bargin bin scrappers who look for the gems of the past 2-3 years while others look ahead.
The Gramer: Nametags described it best.
The MMORPGer: Almost an evolution of the table top gamer minus some creativity and socializing skills.
The Girl Gamer: Theres so few out there that in my mind they just get jumbled together. WoW and Mario Kart being the only two front runnering franchises with a legitamit female fanbase.

These categories are interesting, but I don't think they would have made for good material in this video, except for maybe the female gamer thing. Little Miss Gamer's categorization mostly dealt with the psychological attitudes certain (mostly male) gamers get when they fall into those archetypes.
I think I fall somewhere between retro, hardcore, and cheap-ass in my gaming life, though the hardcore thing is something that I'm not committed on. Most hardcore gamers are a real put-off and I wouldn't want to fall into that crowd.

I have been to digital press before and was extremely disappointed. Their wii section was almost non-existent, and all of their old games and consoles were extremely overpriced compared to ebay or even a game store I have here in the Netherlands. The people who worked there were kind of dicky to me as well.

I love the Nametags illusion when brett comes in to get a copy of elite beat agents (Probably wasn't really intended). Oh and seeing devon riley pop up in these videos is always great. I love little miss gamer she always has a very level headed yet fun way of looking upon the games she loves. I definitley learnt something from this.
Why doesn't Holland have these type of stores :/ they only have a tiny small amounts of games for the old consoles but never ever this much i'm seeing in this video... Damn :O

I consider myself a mix of the Retro/Hardcore/Import and a liiittle bit casual:) But thats just because it fits best with the games i play:)
To be a importer in Europe is btw a little different. Since we often have to wait longer for our game here, its easier to import them since they are all in English anyway.
That store btw is the most awsome thing i have seen in my life. does anyone from Europe know any place like that. i would love to go in and buy hundreds of game from such a place:)

Great epidsode and you have a really interesting point there... it really feels as if games have gotten kinda boring... back then I had so much fun with simple Jump n Runs like the Animaniacs game for the SNES... but nowadays the concept wouldn't work. It's really strange.. everyone want's that games have a certain technically standard but on the other hand they wan't simple fun games like in the NES/SNES era... but if someone would make them now they would feel outdated. Imo more publishers should follow Capcom and release remakes or sequels to their old franchises in their original graphiks (But please 16-Bit! Mega Man has to be 8-Bit but all the other games have to be 16-Bit)

a casual gamer and a hardcore gamer. I've played games ever since I was a kid, so I don't consider myself a casual gamer, but at the same time, games have never consumed my whole life like with some hardcore gamers. I'm much more of a movie and music guy than a gamer, although I still consider myself a gamer.
P.S : I wish there was a store like that in my hometown. There's so many Playstation and Playstation 2 games that I can't find anymore that I want to play.

I consider myself a mix of the Retro/Hardcore/Import and a liiittle bit casual:) But thats just because it fits best with the games i play:)
To be a importer in Europe is btw a little different. Since we often have to wait longer for our game here, its easier to import them since they are all in English anyway.
That store btw is the most awsome thing i have seen in my life. does anyone from Europe know any place like that. i would love to go in and buy hundreds of game from such a place:)

It's only a few games we have to wait for now. Post games are coming out days after the US release.
Honestly, the only games I can think of that were delayed in recent history were Crisis Core, Rock Band & the entire PS3 launch line-up.

Great epidsode and you have a really interesting point there... it really feels as if games have gotten kinda boring... back then I had so much fun with simple Jump n Runs like the Animaniacs game for the SNES... but nowadays the concept wouldn't work. It's really strange.. everyone want's that games have a certain technically standard but on the other hand they wan't simple fun games like in the NES/SNES era... but if someone would make them now they would feel outdated. Imo more publishers should follow Capcom and release remakes or sequels to their old franchises in their original graphiks (But please 16-Bit! Mega Man has to be 8-Bit but all the other games have to be 16-Bit)

a casual gamer and a hardcore gamer. I've played games ever since I was a kid, so I don't consider myself a casual gamer, but at the same time, games have never consumed my whole life like with some hardcore gamers. I'm much more of a movie and music guy than a gamer, although I still consider myself a gamer.
P.S : I wish there was a store like that in my hometown. There's so many Playstation and Playstation 2 games that I can't find anymore that I want to play.

From watching this video it made me curious...I found out that I'm sort of a mix breed of several gamer types,The Casual Gamer,The Retro Games,The Hardcore gamer.
If I could give my younger self advice
I would not watch this video. Lol. It wasn't that bad but I couldnt laugh at the subtle humor, and as for the "stereotype gamers" I don't think I've met anyone in my life who is any of those fully. The pro gamer was funny tho.

Of course not, no one is ever totally "white" or completelly "black", but man... do I know at least 5 of each one... and like 34 of the 6th type
