In case you missed it LIVE on Tuesday now is your chance to experience the... magic... that happened on Out of the Box. We featured two games that were heavily discussed at E3 this past year (for obvious reasons): Fable 2 and *sigh* Wii Music.
I acctually skipped the episode until the Wii Music part, since I really wanted to see their reactions on the game.
And I think I would display even more dissapointment if I ever played that game myself. I wouldn't be surprised if they even crushed the game "out of the box" just for fun... since this is just degrading towards gamers.
What is Nintendo doing? Making shit loads of money, out selling the competition and securing their place as market leader and undeniable king sales wise that is what they are doing. And they are doing a fantastic job. Games like this sell because people buy them and as long as people keep throwign money at Nintendo why would it change? Only if the casual market abandons Nintendo will they ever stop making this shit. The best we can hope for is to be loud enough to get them to make games for us as well. There is no way though that they will stop making these games nor should they. Just do not abandon the core.
Craig, your contempt for WiiMusic was overwhelming. Obviously you hate it and don't recommend it, but in the process you ended up sounding so condescending and over the top that I can't figure out if all the stuff you displayed is as bad as you say or if you just made up your mind early on you were going to hate it and thus acted accordingly. There was no humor in your hatred this time and that worries me.

Whats the big deal, so what if it's a bad game? I don't see how this is worse than any other poor game that comes out. I think it's time to accept that wii music will probably be very succesful, and we just have to live with that. Nintendo will be happy with the outcome and produce (A hopefully functional) sequel.
Or you could act like it never existed, and hopefully no one will talk about it again :)
There was a time when Nintendo was capable of putting out an impressive lineup of great games, but casual gamers flock to titles like Brain Age and overlook gems such as Metroid Prime 3. The soon-to-be popular Wii Music is a disturbing trend; it shows that Nintendo can sell a half-assed product and still reap a boatload of cash. Once upon a time, everything Nintendo touched turned into classic gold, and now it's a rare event for them to actually make something worth playing. Wii Music is an example of a wasted opportunity for resources that could have been used to make a quality game.

Oh My GOD!
I Know they are trying to make it casual... but really... it doesn't seem like anyone can have fun from swinging the wiimote like that... I could regret not having a 360, but I am really happy that as a hardcore gamer i DON'T have a Wii (and indirectly support this shit.)
Even If Guitar hero or rock band is really hard for some people, I am POSITIVE that they would have much more fun trying to play a Guitar hero song than Succeding in swinging a wii music song...
Self-fulfilling prophesy. Most hardcore gamers are not buying wii games...so the only games that sell are the casual ones. Guess what effect this has on the general future game library?

My family said that game looked stupid I don't think it's even hitting the mark when it comes to casual gamers. And the thing that makes it worse is where they unveiled it, at E3 no less; I can tell you for a fact that practically no casual gamers watch E3. Their press conference even wasn't directed at customers, it felt like it was directed to investors instead. I think Craig was overly nice to this game. I personally would have made the AVGN do a review of it and put that here instead. By the way I don't buy the games because their is very few good ones to choose from.

The problem here is that NINTENDO made this game. Name 5 good hardcore game for all the wii owners. Metroid, zelda, samba da amigo.... De Blob... Wii Music?!?! I feel sorry for all you wii owners. First Nintendo says the wii motion controls suck by releasing the Wii plus motion thingy, and now Wii music. Its time to wake up.
Feel sorry for wii owners? And you missed a few games on that good hardcore games for wii owners. Like brawl, No more heros,Trama center and a bunch more I could say. But I really think Craig kinda under ratted the game. I mean it looked like it was a lot of fun. And proboly has more to it then meets the eye. But hey I havn't played the game.

If there was a big hardcore game coming out this christmas, it wouldnt be so bad, the problem is that there is none
Wii Music and Animal Crossing are the ONLY games from nintendo coming out for Wii this Christmas, Nintendo is making no concessions to real gamers
Whats almost worse is that Nintendo is suggesting that us real gamers will enjoy Wii Music, when its blatantly obvious tht it has no appeal to anyone over the age of 4 years old
what about the conduit thats coming out. it's an FPS and it looks sweet. it also looks like it handled really well. and (even though it's not my kind of game) that snow boarding game with that fag sean white is coming out which really doesn't look to bad
A year ago people were waiting fo rthe conduit? Wow. And that was the big Wii release for such a long time and guess what: it is a below average FPS. Wow.
I mean Nintendo has good games in development. We all know that. However they are not comign out very soon and there is nothign to keep us entertained until them. E3 2010 is the next thing we are looking forward to. Cry.

It's more like a wrecking ball at Mk. 4 then a slap to us Nintendo fans, I thought the Wii was a good console untill this game came out and the worst part is because of it, the more time I have a Wii the more I feel like siding with the Wii haters. But on the plus side, with a solid E3 this year we can all move on and look foward to better games from 1st, 2nd, and even some 3rd parties... even if I must live with the scars this piece of bull crud brought to me.

I think Wii Music is a bit of a deceptive title. From the looks of it, you can't control the notes that the instrument plays so it's like a bad rhythm game with no plot, no scoring and no point.
Maybe I should buy it in the hope that it becomes a rarity.

Just be sure that said 1-4 year olds don't stop moving the Wii-motes, especially if they're playing that orchestra game. Could you imagine how many children would grow up and be psychologically scarred for life if they saw something like that at such a young age?

Actually, it was used.
Clear any stage of nine in any high and while it tallies up your score, Carmen is heard in the background. 9-0 would be a basic version and it would become more and more diverse with more instruments if you cleared it at 9-5.
Nintendo Tetris, NES.
Edit: But it might not be the same Carmen people have in mind, as searches have shown.

I love you guys, I really do, but come on. You just kept bashing Wii Music the entire second half. It's like you didn't even give it a chance. Flailing your arms about randomly with a wiimote and nunchuck in your hands isn't how to play it. You're supposed to keep in rhythm, as you would with music games.
Yes, we could all tell you didn't like it. Yes, everyone knew it was as bad as we thought it would be, but come on. I'm not trying to be a fanboy or to say the game is good, but It's like you weren't even trying to play the game. All you were doing was screwing around with it.

It's fine to bash things sometimes and state your opinion, but Craig and Jose didn't even try to play the game! The fact that they were just fooling around the whole time, it felt like they had no reason to bash it since they hadn't played it.
Now I know Craig probably tried to play it at e3 or before OOTB started, but Jose still could have tried.
It's like a toy. If you just throw an action figure around the room with no point to anything, then it sucks, but if you use your imagination and make up a story with it, then it's fun, because that's how you're supposed to play with it.
tl;dr: If they played Wii Music how it was supposed to be played, it might have been more fun. And don't bash something you hardly tried to like.
I don't need to try a shitty game to know that it's a shitty game. Also why don't you buy the game and tell us what you think of it.....oh yea it's 50 bucks. Have fun ;)
I have this game. It is as bad as it seems. And keeping to the beat is not really the objective. There is no objective becasue there is no score and no achievments. You play it just as they played it. I mean in most wii games you might say "oh common, you are suppossed to do the actual motion and then it works better (zelda, mario)" but here it does not apply. It just does not work. Swinging your arm does the same thing as tryign to play it.
