I'm not going to immediately say that it's doomed to failure, unlike 99% of the people who have seen this. Now, I know most of you are probably going OMFG THIS IS GOING TO BE A GIGANTIC SHITSTAIN, but come on, at least give the new elements a try before you jump to conclusions.
Well... new elements aren't really Sonic Teams thing... I've had my hopes up for every game since Heroes, and every single one is more or less crap... Except for Sonic Rush, which is only about running and it worked. It's a really good game, with decent 3D-styled Sonic.
At least I won't be dissapointed if it fails, though if this turns out to be good I'll be happy, really happy. But making this good is going to be hard...

Finally they offer Games for windows live for free. They might actually have a chance of competing with steam, but only if they would release a promising online game with cross platform support not crappy lost planet or shadowrun. They should release Halo 3 as a games for windows live game with cross platform play now that would be sweet.

i dont care how cool a video or game footage may look i'm not going to be excited about a sonic game until a great one comes out and changes what prior games have done wrong. i will reserve my ultimate judgement untili can play it but it's deffinately going to be on my rent list.

Very few PC games use Live to my knowledge. Most the people who are online with the PC are either playing a game using Steam or World of Warcraft or any other MMO. Course, Steam doesn't charge for it's service.

Sonic with a SWORD?? First he's a werewolf and now this? It's like Sonic Team's trying to outdo each other on who can come up with the most stupid idea. If the Sonic franchise hadn't nuked the fridge a long time ago, this would actually kind of piss me off or at the very least surprise me.
It's pretty damn annoying that we haven't had a good sonic game since SA2... It's as if they keep switching around between 'going back to his roots' and 'coming up with completely new crappy gameplay'. I don't know what's wrong with just moving the series forward WITHOUT adding in stupid stuff like swords, or werewolves, or the entire game that was sonic heroes. I don't know what's worse, this new garbage, or stuff like sonic rush, where it's the same damn thing as all the old sonic games. Although at least the old games were playable, so sonic rush wasn't a total bust.
Windows live has more then 3 titles online, but it's nice they're making it free now. Lot's of new games are going to be "Windows Live" now so it'll be nice to use it. And it's also nice to see that Microsoft doesn't neglect the PC platform.
