International Track & Field

You know, when I want to get pumped for a big event I always turn to Guru Larry. He always seems to inform me with great info. What a coincidence!? Larry is here just in time for E3! Let's get physical... British Style... with a little International Track & Field.

I thought it was OK. It had some flaws, but it was still miles ahead of most minigame collections on the Wii (I'm looking at you, Wii Play).

There are still some olympic

There are still some olympic games that were released recently like Beijing 2008 and winter sports one.

Well...

This was recorded in April, So we weren't aware of it's release.

Just a few weeks ago New International Track & Field for the DS was released

Just with Konami charictars

It will also fetuare charictars like Simon Bellmont and Piramid Head. Or am I thinking of another game?

That's the one. Sparkser

That's the one. Sparkser from Rock Knight as well.

.

Whose been giving it low votes? That's not very nice.

Not to worry, we know who you are.

Don't worry, I rated it 5

Don't worry, I rated it 5 stars. ScrewAttack Europe ftw!

I don't know, but that's

I don't know, but that's craziness. It seems like everytime ScrewAttack goes near sports games people score them low especially VGVs. I thought it was great as always, so you got 5 bolts from me.

I hate sports games

But one of my favorites are summer games (i think) for C64, jumping in a Jar from an verry verry high trampoline.. shooting guys in a window etc etc... the funiest part was when you were climbing upp to the trampoline every 1 meter or so you got that special sound droum droum :).

Yea, this one was great as always from portland interactive :). Five thumbs upp...

Screwattack is always awsome.

Eighth!

I think I played a demo for this game. I never liked these button mashing speed games.
By the way, I use the "Wiggle Method" wherein you place your thumb somewhat loosely over the two buttons you need to mash and the flail the controller around like an idiot. Takes the pressure off of your thumb as the buttons push themselves.

I own this game as well, but

I own this game as well, but cant play it anymore since it has too many scratches in it. :<

I always used a bed sheets corner or a t-shirt between the X and O buttons and my thumb. This game is totally worth checking out and it has infinite replay value.

You also got some secrets when you got some specific numbers in the sports like 22.22 meters in some sport and you get a mole on the screen.

Have to mention too that my brother was crazy in javelinthrowing and he always tossed it all the way to the track.

I saw this resently on Pulse

I saw this resently on Pulse and they messed it up! I know it had to be shorten, but why did it over lap?

Indeed

They've shown three different versions of it now, the original was Waaay to sped up and just looked stupid, the second version was near enough identical to this one, but the third one on the Retro Corner show has the vocals lag 30 seconds late for some reason.

No idea why.

Have you asked them about

Have you asked them about it?

I could have pursued it,

I could have pursued it, but they've got a lot on their plate ATM and it wasn't worth bugging them really.

Plus, I know my true version of each Retro Corner is aired how it was meant to be on ScrewAttack now, Craig dosn't go round making silly/bizarre cuts to my work.

thanks for the reminder!

thanks Guru Larry. i had forgotten that 'Atlanta' has an 'r' in it.

keerp urp ther goord wok!

???

???

Hes just being a bit of a

Hes just being a bit of a douche making fun of the way you said Atlanta. I can here now cause of the comment but it wasn't really a big thing. Around 0:44 kinda of sounds like an R is thrown in when you said Atlanta.

Good review; so do the AI always fail to keep up. xD

Yes, I often find making fun

Yes, I often find making fun of someones accent, dosn't make you look like an arrogant prick whatsoever. >.>

true, true,

and i often find that when i drink a lot of beer i think that what i say is very very funny, when in reality, i am a complete dumbass. so i apologize. i do really enjoy these segments, and i might as well admit it here: i drink too much.

^_^

Ah happy days. nothing quite sticks out in my mind like playing track and field on the arcade machine in the 80's people crowded around constantly regardless of who was playing. I could play this for a good few goes for winner stays on loser pays games. :D yay for good times.

That kid had a 360

That kid had a 360 controller...

Cool.

Cool.

So Many Memorys

My thumbs where always sore after playing this game. 4 player was brilliant. i can only remember a few games i played using the multitap. This and Micro Machines V3, with 8 players! Pure fun.

Great

I haven't watched anything by ScrewAttack Europe yet. Who knows what else I've missed out on. This was just great. But, you said the PlayStation was back in the days where there were just two ports. I think you meant to say. This was before the PlayStation 3, and Sony didn't realize that having four ports were a good thing. Not your fault, just Sony's.

Sony could have put four

Sony could have put four ports in the PS2, but decided not to for profit purposes, you can see that by the fact they released a multi-tap at launch for the PS2 AND made the input port an ever so different shape, so you couldn't use the PS1 one on it either.

Another great video. I've

Another great video. I've always been a fan, but the last few have really stepped things up. Well done!

always been a fan of

always been a fan of larry... love the corner.. and make and upload more GYanksCW

GYCW

Well I can announce that we're working on a new GYCW as we speak (possibly a two/three-parter), AND we'll also be introducing a brand new member into the ScrewAttack Europe family.

If anyone saw the Top Ten trailer on our Youtube account, I gave a split second mention of their name, but you're going to be REALLY suprised who it is! Someone pretty famous already (almost AVGN levels, infact he prolly could be considered the British AVGN)!!!

oooooo...

He's not the Quite Vexed Video Game Chap, is he? :-)

Just kidding, Larry. You should live in Buckingham Palace because you rule. Can't wait to see it.

Track games are hard, except this one

Oh mna this game brings bacl memories. Iplayed the sydney olympics games on PS2 and it sucked hard. it was soooo hard the running combo of buttons was rediculous. I couldn't do it.
this game looks fun though since you can get world records with like every try. I would get stoked to play cuz then I can make myself feel good by saying I just got a world record!

Hacking Track and Field

I think everyone had their own technique on how to hack and manipulate Track and Field just so is that they counld get as high a score as possible.

saw this on TV

last month :P

Why did they rename xleague tv to pulse.. sounds crap now..

yep yep yep

yeah it was much better when it was xleague.tv

i think the channel itself was better too. pulse just seems different

My friend got it

My friend still got the game and we play it time to time while we r drinking. man that game just kills my thumbs crazy rapid mashing buttons game, especially that swim part while playing on hard the qualify time goes up so if u fail u have to do it again mash 2 buttons for 1 minute it is craazyy.

oh and nice vid as always love ur stuff guru larry 5 stars for you.

Great video but

Since this is in the original video player does this mean screwattack has come to there senses and relazied the new one sucks

.

I'm still using Revver to upload my videos on here.

Good Ol'e

Guru Larry never stops making me laugh with his British Accent

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Oh How I miss the Retro Corners....
Bloody brilliant work as always, Larry...
...I'm looking forward to what ScrewAttack Europe has in store for us in the near future...
If it makes you feel any
If it makes you feel any better Larry, to me your awesome voice and accent is one of the best parts of GLRC. I only wish there was more stuff on screwattack from you. Thanks for these videos, they kick ass.
