This weeks edition of the Retro Corner, Guru Larry takes a look at one of the launch titles for the ill fated console, The 3DO, Sadly not many people got to play this great title when it was ...
I also love Guru Larry's videos, they're fun and informative; and his accent's not too bad either.
I'm just so glad that he decided to review the original NFS; I absolutely love this game, it's one of my favorite racers of all time. I actually still own my original PC copy of this game, as well as NFS 2.

Thanks dude, I've always loved the original myself and wanted to show people what it actually was like, esepcially as the series is so different from what it was originally supposed to be like.
I can remember seeing the original being played on a kids gaming show and being stunned by the graphics, prolly of the few times i've ever been impressed by graphics.

i love seeing where some of the games we have today came from and you right who would want to pay $700 for a game console (but $700 was more money back then)
I've always enjoyed Guru Larry's take on various franchises. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't even know about the Horace series, or that one game that is supposed to be Punch Out 2. Very informative and entertaining as always.

Wow, what a random blast from the past. I think I still have that lying around for my old Commodore 64, if I'm not terribly mistaken. Fantastic reference (and a great job as always!)
You should play it some day - its great! Driving around Peckham in a Morris Minor while trying to avoid having your wheels nicked has never been so much fun!

Back in 96 I bought a 3DO just for this game. And I still pop it back in and play every few months. Just loved how after a race the guy would make fun of you. Still one of my favortie racing games.

Great video as usual.
My friend and I used to play the PSX version all the time. We'd set up a 1-on-1 race and find a place where you'd get huge air off a hill. One of us would then block traffic at the bottom of the hill so the other could dive into the pile-up.
Good times.

As aware as I am about the industry, I ALWAYS learn something here at GLRC. This is my favorite ScrewAttack feature. Thanks to our friends across the ocean!
It's inspired me to find a copy of the 2004 title Need for Speed: Guru Larry Edition on eBay...LOL

It was crazy, I wake up every morning and check SA, and I was hoping they would do a GLRC soon, and my dream came true! This is one of my favorite shows on screw attack (hell they're all great). It's interesting to find out about what gaming was like in Europe during the 90's and such. Pretty different from now, we all pretty much get the same stuff. But great show, keep it up larry!

There was a bit of a mistake this week, it should have gone up last Friday, but you'll be pleased to know that theres another episode up on the 10th and a new one will appear every 10 days on SA from there on!

I still have the orginials. Some of my favorite games. Need for Speed Porsche for PC was amazing. Extremely Comprehensive and fun, sim, to play. Now it is all arcade and flash. Kinda bums me out really.

Liked it actually, got a clean 5 from me, the whole you're rich comment though, OH! We'll see Larry! We'll see! lmao, jk. But naw, I'd really like to try out V-Rally, never got around to those, and Rally Racing games are my faves. Thanks again Guru Larry.
It's my favorite racing game series. I always liked it but didn't care too much for the underground games. I'd have to say NFS3: Hot Pursuit for Playstation is still my favorite.

Guru Larry's segment is awesome, he always does his homework on a game, and presents entertainingly well. Man I love how that tree turned into a pancake when he was driving up on the statue of liberty!
I remeber playing NFSII for PC as a kid and being blown away, that game was so cool and fun back then...

I remember the 3DO back when I was 13, one of my friends had a rich brother who bought a 3D0. I remember playing Dragon's Lair, Out of This World, Need for Speed and my favorite, Twisted! The best part of Need for Speed was nudging the AI car into oncoming traffic and the AI guy, I forget what his name was, telling me that I had "waxed his ass".

on NFS, i remember those cutscenese and in uh, i forget which NFS it was actually but you could edit custom cars or existing cars and make them so fast they drive backwards in the blink of an eye, crash into a wall, shoot straight up in the sky and you win 1st place automatically. weird. oh, i liked the video.

That's a O in the consoles
That's a O in the consoles name not a zero, as 3DO stands for "Three Dollars Only" the cost it was for publishers to develop for it.
