If you need an introduction to who Ed Boon is you really are in the wrong place. Obviously one of the coolest things for me at this year's E3 was getting to spend 10 minutes with this video game icon. While I could fanboy out and talk to the guy for literally hours, I just tried to throw everything at him that I ever wanted to know about the MK series that could still be answered in a short time frame. I figure that if I was curious about it, chances are you are too. If you're a fan of video games at all you need to see what he has to say. The best part? He's a fan of ScrewAttack! No joke!

Holy shit! I never looked at it that way! As an MK fan I've been so scared at how it might hurt the MK franchise that I never realized how it'll help the Man of Steel! Of course, this game is not canon to the DC Universe as far as comics go, but I'm feeling better about the game as an MK fan. I was skeptical, but it looks cooler with each piece of gameplay footage I see.

Although I was an SF2 crazed monkey, I still enjoyed MK. Either game was a blast to play in the arcades. (I miss those times) Sure buying the MK titles for Live or PSN is one thing, but to relive being in an arcade praying you don't f' up that one move.
I cannot wait to see what new tricks they have up their sleeves with this one. And who knows maybe another MK VS could be possible down the road.

Did you not here what he said? fatalities are in the game! But only the characters who would really kill someone. People like The Flash and Superman wouldn't kill anyone so they get "Brutalities" as their finishing moves. And he said HE would be surprised if we never saw friendships or babalities and stuff again in future games. No worries brotha. He's got it covered :)

Mortal Kombat vs DC actually looks pretty good! I don't like it, but I do understand the necessity to power down an uber character like Superman--If they left him even half as powerful as he really is, the game would be way too easy. It's just that most developers have no clue how to depower Superman without making him a complete pussy who gets his ass handed to him by Stage 1 petty thugs.
Though I do recommend checking out Superman: The Arcade Game for the sole purpose of seeing how WEIRD it is. It's a bizarre little beat-em-up, that one.
Here's to Kombat's return to being a video game kolossus and not another klunky piece of krap that belongs deep in your kloset buried under a pile of old klothes.

ed boon is the kind of game designer you can really get behind and support. hes not like some of the japanese fighting game guys who'll go on about how their game is godlike and the others are worthless. ed is a true game designer who does it because hes gameplayer as well. gotta respect that.
