There actually was a ninth game in the Mega Man core series; it was released in Japan as Rockman and Forte on Super Famicom, and as Megaman and Bass in America on GBA.

Final Fantasy 4 was released here as FF2 yes, but what we got was the "easy version" of FF4. In Japan there were two versions of FF4. Regular and Easy type. We got an altered Easy type.

that was the whole point i thought of the weird numbering system they used, to make fun of all the movies with sequels using numbers/cliche titles.
